We have a fun little surprise for you today! We get lots of requests for additions to our Hey Honeycomb series and we’re excited to bring you a few new additions to this series! Every year, we partner with the fun folks from the Nashville Craft retreat, collaborating on a class lead by the talented Erin Thompson. This year, Erin requested some new additions to our Hey Honeycomb line-up. It was fun to revisit this concept for a few new additions. They are coming to the shop tomorrow!
The team is here today to share some fun projects using these new additions, so I hope you’ll hop along with us. We’re also giving away a fun prize! Two lucky blog hop commenters will win this new bundle of products. Check out the details at the bottom of this post to hop along and comment for your chance to win!
Let’s introduce these new products…

Hey Honeycomb Crab, Seahorse, and Fish dies + Summer Sentiments
We have three new summer-themed animals to add to our Hey Honeycomb lineup. An adorably crabby crab, a sweet seahorse, and a friendly fish! Just like all of the other dies from our Hey Honeycomb series, their tummies are sized to fit a 2″ honeycomb ball. For interactive cards you’ll want to pair these dies with our previously released Hey Honeycomb Basics die. We also have a new sentiment stamp set with fun and punny sentiments to add to your projects using these dies.

Tricolor Tropics & Heat Wave Honeycomb Ball Mixes
We have a couple of new honeycomb ball color mixes as well! First off is a super fun set of three different tricolor ombré balls. Each ball has three different tropical colors, perfect for the new Fish or Seahorse dies. The Heat Wave set includes three shades of red/orange/coral, perfect for using with the new Crab die.

Making Waves stencil, embossing folder & die
Make backgrounds that make waves with this new product suite! These fun waves come to life with the combination of a 3D embossing folder, a two-step stencil, and a coordinating die. The embossing folder and stencil can be used independently from the other products in this suite, while the die is designed to be used in combination with either the die and/or the stencil. This is a 5×7 background, but also trims down nicely to be used on A2 cards as well.

Let’s get to some projects! My craft table was a fun and happy explosion of color!
First, I just had fun creating a whole bunch of the fish, seahorses, and crabs. Some of these will get added to cards or used as tags, others are little shaped notecards.

Some of them I attached the honeycomb ball in an open position, but others I left them closed and used the Hey Honeycomb Basics die to make them look nice and sharp and ready for the recipient to open for a fun surprise. The sticky shapes were cut using the Hey Honeycomb Basics die from foam adhesive sheets. All of the fun honeycomb balls used here are from the Tricolor Tropics pack.

I also did the same with the cute crab! Some of these have the honeycomb balls already opened, so they will make fun tags, and some I left it closed and attached it to a circle-shaped base, which was created by cutting the circle from the Hey Honeycomb Basics die on the fold to create the circle-shaped folded base. Inside (and some on the outside) I stamped some sentiments from the new Hey Honeycomb Summer Sentiments set. They are just so fun!

Up next? My FAVORITE project of the day! I’ve been loving creating tunnel cards! I’ve made a few before, including the one I shared a few weeks ago using our Capsule Party Scene dies. This one is assembled in exactly the same way (I shared a video here last fall), but it’s bigger. This time I used the largest scalloped die from the Capsule Basics set instead of the smaller one from the set. Assembly concept is exactly the same.

This tunnel has three layers, just like the one I shared in the video linked above. Inside the tunnel I used the new Making Waves stencil, die, and embossing folder. I created two of the wave backgrounds, and then put one on layer #2 and the other one on layer #3 of my tunnel. I adjusted the height so that the one in front was lower and the one in back was higher (creating lots of dimension in my scene!) and just trimmed off any excess from around the edges of my Capsule Basics scalloped layer. That cutie crab is adhered to the first Making Waves layer (layer #2 in my tunnel stack). The top layer/cover of my tunnel card was made by combining again that largest scallop from the Capsule Basics set along with the smaller pinked edge and largest star border from the Capsule Star Studded Borders set.

I added some cute stamping on the accordion folds using the linear leaves from the Capsule Collection Floral Borders stamp set, and instead of putting a flower in the center, I used a small star from the new Hey Honeycomb Summer Sentiments set.

Up next is a card using that sweet seahorse.

I created a Capsule shaped base and filled it with the new Making Waves background, done with the die, stencil, and embossing folder. I cut a scalloped frame from bright blue cardstock using the Capsule Basics die (the largest scallop + the largest plain). For the flora I used an older die – Garden Tub Filler, which makes perfect seaweed!

And here’s what the little guy looks like when the honeycomb ball is opened up. What little one (or maybe big ones too!) wouldn’t love to get a fun card like this?

Finally, one last card using the new Hey Honeycomb Fish die. I used my Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition stamp set and matching die to create a frame, then filled it with a background that was created by stenciling and embossing the new Making Waves background.

I again used the Garden Tub Filler to add the plants along the bottom, and also tucked in a smattering of little stars, which I cut using the Ribbon Maker: Pinked Stars die (a quick way to cut lots of stars!). Here you can see what it looks like when the honeycomb ball is opened up. I used one from the new Tricolor Tropics pack.

That wraps up my projects using these fun new products from our Hey Honey, It’s Summer mini collection! These new products will be available in the shop tomorrow – Friday, May 29 at 10am EDT.
