Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! Today I’m sharing a bright and cheerful card featuring the Wildwood Stencil, Aida Cloth Texture Plate, and Scripted Sentiments from The Greetery. I love how all of the soft florals and bold colors came together on this one!

I started by creating the floral background with the Wildwood Stencil. I chose a mix of coral, peach, yellow, aqua, and green inks, adding in some darker green tones for contrast. I love how this stencil creates such a full, layered floral background while still having that pretty, hand-painted feel.
Confession: Once all of the stenciling was complete, I ran the panel through my die-cutting machine using the Wildwood Embossing Folder. Guess what? It moved on me. The embossing was crooked. I was about to toss the stenciled panel and start over when I had an idea. I grabbed the Aida Cloth Texture Plate. This is such a simple step, but it completely flattened out the embossing from the folder and added the prettiest subtle texture! I love that an oops gave me the most pretty, almost tapestry-like look!

For the sentiment, I used Scripted Sentiments to create the large “just a note” greeting. I stamped it in a deep green to coordinate with the darker leaves in the background and cut it with the coordinating die. I love the beautiful, flowing script and how it makes such a statement on the card! I layered the sentiment over a Crimped Circle Tag Die, which helps it stand out from the busy floral pattern.
To finish everything off, I trimmed down the Wildwood panel and layered it onto a soft peach card base. That little border of peach around the outside ties in perfectly with the coral and peach flowers and gives the card a nice finished look.
I love cards like this where the background does most of the work. The combination of the Wildwood Stencil and Aida Cloth Texture Plate gives you so much detail, and that oversized scripted sentiment is the perfect finishing touch.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this card inspires you to pull out your stencils, mix up some fun colors, and create a pretty floral card of your own! And don’t forget…sometimes a mistake can end up working out with a little ingenuity! If you are inspired to create a clean and simple card, please tag me when you share over on Instagram! I love to see all your creations!

Laurie, That’s a lovely card. Thank you for sharing the tip about using the Aida texture plate to flatten the embossing folder oops. That’s a great tip!
