Autumn Herbarium Suite
Inspired by vintage botanical drawings, our Autumn Herbarium suite is filled with gorgeous leaves and berries. Start with the detailed rubber stamp to stamp all of the veins and tiny details, then add color using the 3-piece stencils. The coordinating die allows you to cut all of the leaves in a single pass. The Autumn Herbarium embossing folder can be used in combination with the other products in this suite, or on its own for textured backgrounds!

Autumn Herbarium Labels stamp set & Label It die
We have a few great add-ons for the Autumn Herbarium suite as well. The Labels stamp set features a wide variety of tree/leaf names. The Label It die makes tiny labels designed to coordinate with the non-script words in the stamp set, allowing you to “pin” the leaves with their appropriate labels. The Autumn Herbarium products would be fun to pair with our Curio line of products as well, for creating your own paper leaf herbariums!

Mushroom Meadow stencil & hot foil
Our Mushroom Meadow design features a fun and modern all-over print that’s super easy to create using the 6-piece layering stencils. Have so much fun playing with different color combos…from muted fall tones to bright and funky combos! Add a little shimmer and shine to portions of the design using the coordinating Mushroom Meadow hot foil.

Wild Wetlands die
Generously-sized and filled with gorgeous details, our Wild Wetlands die was inspired by all of the beautiful and interesting things that bloom and grow in the wetlands. It started with cattails for autumn, then took on a life of its own! The one-piece base makes it easy to layer and position all of the blooms, but feel free to go rogue and create your own designs as well! It will make a gorgeous focal point on your next project!

Oblong Octagon Labels stamp set, die, & hot foil
Another great basic, the Oblong Octagons suite features a 4″ x 6″ stamp set filled with borders and all-occasion sentiments, a basic die, and hot foil borders. These products can all be used in tandem, or independently for lots of options!

Let’s get to some projects! First up, I have several projects using the new Autumn Herbarium suite. I had SO much fun playing with this set!
First up is a set of cards using the Autumn Herbarium stamp + stencil combo combined with the Autumn Herbarium embossing folder.

These were so quick and fun to do. I wanted to create a fall rainbow, so I kept each card within a color family – greens, oranges, reds, and purples. The purple one is a little more unexpected…wasn’t sure how that was going to work out while I was making it, but it ended up being my favorite! At least I think so…although it might be a tie between the purple and green.

These are easy to do…start by stamping the veins and stems using the rubber cling stamp included in the stamp + stencil set. I used dark brown ink. Before doing the stenciling, I embossed them with the embossing folder. Just line up the stamped veins with the veins on the embossing folder…
*Tip: As the embossing folder passes through your machine, it can tend to pull the paper downward inside your folder, due to the pressure from your machine. This can result in the top portion lining up, but the bottom, well… not so much. To offset this, run your sandwich through half way, then back out and run it through again, this time starting from the opposite end, again only running it half way through. Just make sure the whole folder goes through from one end or the other so that you don’t have an un-embossed section in the center!
The sentiments on each of these were done using the Oblong Octagon Labels stamp set (for the words) and the coordinating hot foil for the frames, then cut with the Oblong Octagon Labels die. Simple, classy, and gorgeous!

This next card again using the Autumn Herbarium stamp + stencil and embossing folder, but this time I also pulled out the Autumn Herbarium die so that I could cut the leaves into individual pieces and arrange them however I wanted.

I also pulled out the new Autumn Herbarium Labels stamp set. I stamped the border and words along the bottom of the panel, and also used the small text words to identify my leaves by stamping tiny labels made with the new Label It die. I cut the pins from metallic gold cardstock. I love how it feels like a vintage botanical illustration.

Next I took more of my diecut leaves and created my own little curated leaf collection by combining them with the Curio Divider & Details II and Curio: Cover dies. The card has been living in my head and I was so excited about how it turned out.

I again used the Autumn Herbarium Labels stamp set and the Label it die to add the labels to the leaves. The stamp set contains a script and text version of each of the leaf varieties, so you can mix and match for a pretty, authentic look. The “thankful” sentiment is from the Thankful & Blessed set that we introduced yesterday, cut with the coordinating die.

Next I have a few creations using the new Wild Wetlands die.
For this first one, I really wanted to capture the look and feel of the wetlands, so I kept to a color scheme of greens and blues. I’ve been feeling in a color rut lately and have been challenging myself to step outside my color comfort zone. I love how it turned out!

To make my arrangement feel even more lush and full, I tucked some leaves behind the Wild Wetlands bouquet, which were done with the Autumn Herbarium stamp + stencil and die. I also embossed them with the embossing folder. Before attaching everything to a panel of aqua cardstock, I also embossed that panel with the Autumn Herbarium embossing folder. I love how this folder can be used for backgrounds too!

The birthday sentiment used here is from the Capsule Cameos stamp set introduced yesterday, cut with the matching die. I grounded all of the foliage and blooms by adding a woodgrain strip along the bottom, which was cut using the Curio: Cover die.

Up next, another Wild Wetlands card. This time I combined it with the new Capsule Basics dies for a larger-scale 5×7 shaped card (the card above is a standard A2 card). I wanted a rich, elegant color scheme so I went with deep greens, mauve and burgundy, golds, plus an unexpected pop of blue!

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that there was one product from the Capsule suite that is not going to make it in time for the release. A few of you rightly guessed what it was…an embossing folder! I used it here as well to add the embossed lines and dots around the scallops. We’ll be releasing that embossing folder when it arrives in a few weeks. 🙂

To add some tone-on-tone print without distracting from the pretty diecuts, I stamped just the leaves from the Thankful & Blessed set we introduced yesterday. I didn’t add the stenciling as I just wanted to keep it simple. I think it’s just enough to add some interest and texture to the border. I used colored pencils to add shading to the diecuts. The sentiments are also from the Thankful & Blessed set.

One more Wild Wetlands card…this time I went off-roading, lol. Instead of assembling the bouquet the way it was designed, I used the individual flowers to do my own thing. Gosh, that was fun! I used some of the bell flowers on the bases of the larger flowers (cut from green) to really give them a different look. I used the leaves and stems to just build my own arrangement.

I adhered all of my blooms to the smaller scallop oval from the Capsule Basics set, which makes a card that’s just slightly smaller than an A2 size. I added some shine by hot foiling one of the Capsule Borders. I added a simple curved sentiment along the bottom, which is from the Thankful & Blessed set. To make the shaped card base that it’s adhered to, I cut the scalloped oval “on the fold” – meaning I folded my cardstock panel and positioned the top edge of the die just above the fold so that it didn’t cut, resulting in a shaped base. One of my favorite things to do!

Last but not least, I have a couple of cards using the new Mushroom Meadow stencil and hot foil. I love how this print came out! I had so much fun drawing it and turning it into a stencil. There are 6 pieces to the stencil set, but I think you’ll find it super easy to do! And have fun playing with all of the color combo possibilities!

Before stenciling, I foiled the details using the Mushroom Meadow hot foil plate onto a panel of taupe cardstock. For this one, I stenciled the design in red, pink, brown, and oranges. After stenciling the design, I diecut my panel using the smaller scallop from the Capsule Basics set. I also dieuct a scalloped border from rust cardstock to layer over the top. I attached everything to the larger ovals from the Capsule Basics set and also added a hot foil border, done with the Capsule Borders 1 hot foil. The sentiment is from the Oblong Octagon Labels stamp set, and a foiled border using the coordinating hot foil set. I also added some embossing to the large oval using the Capsule embossing folder that will be coming soon!

Since we are on a bit of a mushroom kick (that sounds worse than it is, lol!), I pulled out my BotaniCuts: Toadstool Garden die (an oldie but goodie!) and created this card. I used the Capsule Collection Floral Borders stamp set, Basics die, and Border 1 hot foil to create the base.

I tucked in several Autumn Herbarium leaves which were stamped and stenciled, embossed, and diecut. The sentiment is from the Capsule Cameos: Autumn set, cut with the coordinating Sentiment die.

Lastly, I have a fun and vibrant card again using the Mushroom Meadow stencil and hot foil. This panel almost ended up in the trash bin…I creating it while taking the stencils for a test drive and had it sitting on my desk. When the hot foil plates arrived I couldn’t resist giving them a go, but obviously foiling first and then stenciling last is the better way to go since you can’t see through the hot foil plate.🤣 So things aren’t lined up but I decided to embrace the off-register look and ended up thinking it’s kind of fun, so don’t be afraid to just go for it! 😉

I didn’t think this card needed a lot more…I didn’t want to cover up the fun print, so I just added a foiled and diecut Oblong Octagon Label and a leaf from the Autumn Herbarium set, cut with the coordinating die. The “autumn” sentiment is from the Autumn Herbarium Labels stamp set, and the scalloped border was cut using the Frosted Frames die.
