Pretty Picado Suite

We have another suite of products designed to coordinate with our Capsule line! Our Pretty Picado suite was inspired by Mexican folk art paper cuttings called papel picado, which feature intricate designs cut from colorful paper. It will turn your Capsule products into a paper fiesta! This product suite is filled with so many fun mix and match products, including an embossing folder, stencil, sentiment stamps and dies, and more. Market Place Celebration Street

A block party is coming to Market Place! These fun new additions to our Market Place series expand on the series and are perfect for birthdays, grads, and more. The die set includes window flower boxes, balloons, a tiny bike, and several celebratory banners. The stamp set includes celebration-themed shop names, some of which are a little bit cheeky (Over the Hill Bike Shop, Father Time & Sons Clock Shop 😆), and a whole lot of fun!

Arch Box Mini die

We have a new mini version of our popular Arch Box (previously available in Large and Small)! This mini version coordinates wonderfully with our Market Place Mini building dies. As another option, it’s a great size for pairing with the new Pretty Picado Cut-Away sentiments dies introduced above!

I have so many projects to share with you!

First, a few projects using the new Market Place Celebration Street die and stamp set paired with the previously released Market Place dies.

It was so fun to deck out the original Market Place No 1, No 2, and No. 3 dies with these new details…fun banners, flower boxes, balloon clusters, and of course that tiny little bicycle! This one uses Market Place No. 3…

And this one uses Market Place No. 2…

And Market Place No. 3. These are all shaped cards created by cutting the building base “on the fold” from a piece of folded cardstock to create the shaped base, then topping it off with a colorful and embellished house on the front of the shaped card base.

Next are some adorable little house boxes made with the new Arch Box Mini, Market Place Celebration Street die, and the previously released Market Place Mini die. These are so fun and happy, and perfect for little treats like chocolates, lip balm, etc!

I talk a little about this in the showcase video as well, but I shortened two of the three Market Place Mini buildings to feel more well-proportioned for the Arch Box Mini. This is simple to do by just trimming off the bottom. For the building with the square-step top I used the full three-window height, but for the other two I omitted a window or two just by trimming off the bottom.

Before assembling the boxes I also decided to add some decorative cut-outs to the sides of the boxes using some of the dies from the new Pretty Picado Blooms die. I love that special little touch!

Next up, I have oodles of projects using the new Pretty Picado suite. I could not stop exploring all of the fun mix and match options with this product suite! Combined with the basics from our Capsule series and you could experiment for days!

First up is a rather simple to do card. It looks intricate, but it’s actually very simple! I used outer border from the Pretty Picado die and used the Capsule Fixed Border Large die to cut it out, then popped it up on a second border that I cut from yellow cardstock and did not cut using the Pretty Picdo die, just leaving it solid instead. I layered these two borders over a background that was stamped with the new Pretty Picado Background stamp. Inside, I placed a yellow Capsule diecut that was embossed with the Pretty Picado embossing folder and also has the Hello Cut-Away Sentiment cut from it. I stamped the rest of the sentiment phrase using the Pretty Picado Sentiments stamp set.

This next shaped card uses all three of the dies from the Pretty Picado die to create these intricate cuts. I cut solid backers using the Capsule Basics die and went for some bright, happy cardstock colors. It looks like waaaay more work than it actually was!

I did also emboss the red layer peeking through the center panel using the Pretty Picado embossing folder so the embossed areas kind of pop up and peek through the diecut. I love how that looks! To position the die properly to create this effect, you can emboss a scrap of cardstock and use it as an alignment guide for getting your dies into the right place so it will match up with the embossing. OR you can wing it (haha! which is what I did) – centering those Picado detail cuts inside the curve of the Capsule shape isn’t hard to do and it ended up being almost perfectly in place. 🙂

I had so much fun playing with COLOR on my project for this release. I love soft pastels, but sometimes you just gotta bust out all the colors! This next project suite uses a warm color palette of oranges, pinks, and yellows for an ensemble of birthday cards, tags, etc, that would be perfect for a summery birthday.

First off is the card…this is a 5×7 card that uses the Pretty Picado Background stamp (outer orange and inner yellow), the Pretty Picado Embossing folder (outer border), the Pretty Picado Sentiments stamp set (flowers, flourishes, and sentiments), the Blooms die, and the Sentiments die. I also snuck in a Capsule Filigree Border, cut from orange cardstock, and nested it inside the embossed border.

I also made a couple of pretty matching tags.

The orange one uses some of the banners from the Market Place Celebration Street die and a Cut-Away Sentiment die. The pink one uses the center elements from the Pretty Picado die (layered over an embossed piece), a sentiment from the Picado Sentiments stamp set (cut with the Sentiments die), and the previously released Regency Bow No. 1 to top it off.

And a little shaped notecard to finish off this little ensemble! The blooms were done with a mix of the Pretty Picado stamp set and Blooms die. The shaped base was of course created with the Capsule Basics die. The embossed rings on the yellow layer were done with the Capsule Basics embossing folder and I also added in a Capsule Filigree Border cut from dark pink cardstock.

Next up are some more Mini Arch Boxes, this time using the Pretty Picado Blooms die and the Pretty Picado Cut Away Sentiments die to cut some cute accents and sentiments cut directly from the boxes before assembly.

When cutting details like this from the boxes you can choose to leave them open, or if you’d prefer that the contents not show you can always back it with a piece of cardstock or vellum…using a contrasting color adds a fun touch, too!

After all those summer-hot colors, it’s time to cool things down with this next project suite, this time using calm and cool shades of blue and green.

Let’s take a look at the larger card first. This one uses the Pretty Picado stencil to create that pretty multi-color border. I cut it using the Capsule Large Fixed border. The result is the larger border which I used here, and also the interior, which I put to use on a smaller A2-sized card. It’s like a two-for-one deal! The sentiments were stamped using the Pretty Picado Sentiments stamp set and cut with the matching Sentiments die. Inside that pretty stenciled frame is a capsule diecut that was also stamped with the Picado Background stamp (stamped in green ink onto blue cardstock). I added some flowers using the stamp set and Blooms die. The base was cut using a new die you’ll be seeing more of tomorrow…pinked edges for our Capsule shapes!

The smaller A2-sized card uses the interior of the stenciled panel that was left over from the outer border in the card above. I diecut the “for you” sentiment using the Pretty Picado Cut Away Sentiments die. I also used the Pretty Picado die combined with the Capsule Fixed Border Small die to cut the light blue border. The pinked base was again done using the die I mentioned that you’ll be seeing more of tomorrow!

My next few project ensembles take the Pretty Picado suite in a bit of a different direction…this next one is still very colorful, but a little softer, with more of a vintage, lacy vibe, which I can never resist.

The card is a 5×7 card that starts with the Picado Background stamp, stamped in green ink onto a light blue background. Then I embossed a Large Capsule Fixed Border using the Pretty Picado embossing folder. Have you ever looked at the embossing and thought that the back, debossed side is just as pretty as the front? Me too! I decided to go for it here and use it that way! Inside that pretty debossed frame is a Capsule shape that was cut using the Pretty Picado die. Layered over the top is a Capsule Filigree Border (cut from orange), and a cluster of flowers created with our Bigger Botanicals Hawthorn die. The sentiment banner was done with the Rosemal Reflections Setiments stamp set and die (or the banner from the Tangled Tulips die as they are the same).

I also created a couple of smaller A2-sized Capsule shaped cards to coordinate. That is one of my very favorite things about the Capsule product suite…with almost everything you diecut you end up with extra pieces to use on more projects…the green here is the leftover from the inside of that pretty embossed border on the 5×7 card, and the orange is left from one of the proejcts I shared above. It’s like mix and match heaven!

And finally, this little project suite is finished off with some mini notecards created with the new Pretty Picado Banners die. These banners can of course be strung together to create traditional banners that can be used for party decor, but they are also perfect for little notecards, tags, card fronts, you name it. I cut them on the fold here to create the shaped bases, then topped them off with a colored diecut. Three of them also use one of the interior dies from the main Pretty Picado die, and the orange one uses the Cut Away Sentiments die to cut the word “happy”. The “just for you” stamp sentiments are from the Simple Holiday Sentiments set, and the “birthday” is from the Pretty Picado Sentiments stamp set.

We started this post with an explosion of color, but we’re going to end it with the softest of soft color palettes…white on white and a touch of gold for an elegant wedding card and tag suite…

First the card…it’s easy peasy, but so much gorgeousness compared to the amount of effort. Gotta love that. It starts with a shaped base, cut with the Capsule Basics die. I then embossed that white scalloped Capsule Basics diecut using the Basics embossing folder. I love how it embosses those rings for that pretty border to just nestle right into. For the border, I diecut the outer border from the Pretty Picado die, and cut it out using the Capsule Large Fixed Border, then cut a second fixed border from gold mirror cardstock, popping up the detailed cut with foam for lots of dimension. The center is just a Capsule diecut which was embossed with the Pretty Picado folder. The sentiment was stamped and heat embosssed with gold powder. Don’t be afraid to mix shades of cream and white! It’s subtle, elegant, and gorgeous!

And finally, the matching tag! The base layer was created by cutting two of the more rectangular Pretty Picado Banners. I glued them together by overlapping the line of holes, then topped it off with a Capsule Basics diecut which was embossed with the Picado embossing folder. The diecut flowers were cut with the Bigger Botanicals Soapwort die, and the tag is topped off with a Regency Bow No 1.

Tangled Tulips Card + Video with Caly

Hello!  It’s Caly with you today and I’m excited to share a project using the Tangled Tulips collection.  I made use of the stamp, stencils, both die sets, and the embossing folder for my 5” x 7” card.

To see step-by-step how this card came together, I put together a video for you!

A few more details…

I used the Capsule Basics Die to die-cut my white and decorative scalloped borders.  I also used a Capsule Filigree Border on the top layer for a bit of gold accent.

As far as ink goes, I only used three colors.  The same pink color is used throughout.  Ink-blending results in a softer color and stamping results in more saturated color.  Two different colors of green are used to provide contrast with stamping of the tulips border.

The final layer features the Tangled Tulips Detail Die.  The layered die-cuts gives the card so much texture and color!

Vintage Birthday Card Duo with Dawn

Hello, friends!  It’s Dawn here with a pair of birthday cards to share with you. It’s recently come to my attention that I need to be beefing up my card stash. The drawer is looking a little less full than I’d like and really, I’m needing to add cards for quite a few different occasions. Since birthday cards are some of what I use the most, I thought I’d get a jump on restocking with a pair of vintage-inspired birthday greetings. Let me tell you all about them!

To start things off, I decided to use a couple of the new Capsule Valentine Gallery Prints. I love that these beautiful pre-printed images are quick and easy to cut out and layer up.

PRO TIP: Just because they’re in a set called “Capsule Valentine Gallery Prints” doesn’t mean they can only be used to make Valentines! There are many images in this set that can be used for all sorts of different occasions!

On this card, rather than stamp the border detail, I used the negative die cut from the filigree border on the first card. I just love those dies…..total two-uses-out-of-one die!

That gold glitter looks so elegant and antique up against the greens! ahhh!

PRO TIP: For the sentiments, I stamped a single sentiment from the Tear Strip Tags: Birthday set. I used a couple of those small, skinny sticky notes to mask off the sentiments from that stamp on either side of the one I wanted to use when I inked it up. Made it super easy to pull them off and stamp, then cover them up to ink it up again for the next card and then pull them off to stamp again.

I stamped the sentiments on one of the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels dies.

For one last vintage touch, I ran a piece of rustic cream card stock though the die cutting machine with the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts 3D Embossing Folder. I LOVE that you just see a bit of the design peeking out around the focal point. It reminds me of those old white chenille bedspreads…..do you know the ones I mean? They had all that pretty, bumpy texture….just like this card stock panel. It just adds another layer of interest. It almost has a sort of quilted feel.

I so enjoyed creating these antique-inspired cards and I hope they gave you some inspiration today, as well! I need to get busy filling my card stash drawer up some more, but these are a good little jumping off point! How about you? What’s the state of your card stash? If you need to do a little beefing up as well, why not pull out some of those Valentine things and use them on some non-Valentine cards? And maybe make them “vintage” while you’re at it!

Annual Printer Tray Project with Dawn

Hi, friends! It’s Dawn McVey and it’s my turn to share a project for The Greetery blog and this one has become a tradition, not to mention my favorite project of the entire year! I look forward to it all year long! We’ve got a vintage printer’s drawer that I use as a tray that I fill with all sorts of gift tags and gift toppers and not only is the making of the items fun, and the filling of the tray fun, but also, the wrapping of the gifts is so fun, too, thanks to such a huge array of goodies to dress the packages up with! Somehow, all those little cubbies full of treats makes it sort of feel like I’m shopping at my own little store where everything is free and I can take and use whatever I want! HAHA! I love it!

With that being said, you might want to grab a cuppa and get cozy! I’ve got a lottttt of pictures to show you! I hope you enjoy…..!

To make all of these goodies, I used the Christmas Gallerie collection of stamps, dies, and embossing folders. It is SO MUCH FUN to just start creating with no real agenda other than a big old pile of pretties to top gifts with. None of it needs to be especially color coordinated, because I think you’ll find that once you get going and you already have certain colors out for one element, it’s easy to use them again on another element and before you know it, it’s all coordinated without you even trying too hard.

I began with all of the Bigger Holiday Botanicals dies and just had fun making several of each one. In some cases, I just made 3 or 4 that were exactly the same and in some cases, I changed up the leaf colors or the flower colors, just to add in some variety.

PRO TIP: Glitter makes everything feel more fancy and festive! And depending on the glitters you choose, it can also make things feel more vintage and nostalgic, which was totally what I went for! The best glitters to achieve this that I’ve found are antique metal colors. I’ve got some Martha Stewart ‘white gold’ and ‘smoky quartz’ that I’ve had forever, and you’ll see them used often on my leaves and such. I use a glue bottle with a fine tip, and just trace quickly along the vein lines on the leaves. I concentrated the glue and glitter more toward the center and bottom of the leaves. You don’t have to be super precise with this! Just a quick swipe with the glue, and the glitter will do the rest and make it look like a vintage Christmas card you just found at an antique shop!

I also used a white glitter in cases where I wanted a more snowy effect. And on some of the red berries, I even used a red glitter that I’ve had for more than a decade! Haha! Pull those glitters out and use them, my friends! It’s fun!

I die cut the embossed Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake and separated the star portions. I added glitter to those, simply tracing around some of the lines on the shape, and then I punched a hole in the top (they are the pink pretties tucked behind the poinsettias in the photo below). Those will serve as extra little sparkly trinkets to tie onto gifts along with a tag. If one tag or dangly item hanging from the bow is fun, more are even better!

I die cut quite a few of the new Capsule Christmas Gallerie Prints Cuttables and added various frames and bows and even added glitter to the snowy areas in the pictures. They look so pretty and nostalgic in real life!

I am also in LOVE with the new Capsule Filigree Borders dies!! They add the perfect detailed border around tags and such, BUT the negative shape that is left when the frame is cut, makes a DARLING tag with a built in decorative trim!!! You get a total two-fer with the frame and the negative that are both totally usable elements! Take that negative, layer a pretty die cut on it and punch a whole at the top and BAM! Instant tag!

I also can’t recommend enough die cutting and then stamping the Little and Large Linked Labels dies and then also running them through with the detail embossing folders (Little & Large) as well. They are just SO PRETTY and so detailed and professional looking when you add all three elements!

PRO TIP: My biggest tip for you today, is to get yourself a tray or a shoebox or a platter or whatever sort of thing you’ve got on hand…..doesn’t need to be fancy. And then get out your tag making goodies and fill that thing up! Make yourself a gift-topping assortment of things to use when you’re wrapping gifts this year! The creative process is fun, you’ll want to walk by often and gaze lovingly at all the beauty you created – hahaha! – which almost makes it feel like Christmas decor AND you’ll have so much fun shopping from your own little store…I mean, tray…..when you wrap gifts this year! 🙂

You could even make a party out of it and have a friend or ten over and everyone make some tags to fill their own box. OOOH, or each person could bring their own box and a stack of tags to share. Everyone could swap tags and go home with a stash! OR, you could keep it simple and make tags with your kiddos or grandies. There are loads of ways to get it done, but I highly recommend an epic tag tray! Many of the tags could be used as bookmarks, too!

Also, if you’re really wanting a vintage printer’s tray, they’re not hard to find. Antique stores often have several in the different booths around the store, and I’m guessing you could find them on eBay, as well.

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration today! This project makes me want to get back to my desk and make even more goodies, so I hope it does the same for you!

Tags & Treats with Dana

Hi friends! It’s Dana here today and I am excited to be back to share some more holiday tags and a treat box with you all. My release projects used more jewel tones and traditional colors so I thought I would pull out some bright and “trendy” colors for today’s projects. Let’s get started…

For my first project, I created a treat box. I die cut all of the pieces with the Market Place No. 3 dies to create my holiday shop and attached it to an arch box to create a fun box to hold treats or a small gift.

Next, I created three gift tags that use the Market Place Mini dies.

I then created a couple of tags that use the Bigger Holiday Botanical dies along with the Capsule products. I love how the last two releases can be mixed and matched to give you so many fun options.

Bitty Holiday Botanical Thanks with Dawn

Hello, friends! I’ve got a fun project to share with you today. There were so many pretty things in the last release, that I had to keep playing. Here is a sweet ‘thank you’ card I made with the new Bitty Holiday Botanicals stamp + stencil and die, as well as the new Diamond Foliage die.

I love the amount of intricate detail the Diamond Foliage die adds! I die cut that from green card stock and layered it over a soft blue card stock that I die cut with a couple of the Capsule Basics dies. Those are SO fun to use!

PRO TIP: Glue your diamond pattern and the botanical die cuts in place, and then trim around the edges of the Capsule die cut. That way your pattern continues right off the edge and looks more professional and polished!

I created the sweet banner with the Rosemal Reflections die and a sentiment from Rosemal Reflections Sentiments.

PRO TIP: To help ground the capsule die cut, I added a strip of green card stock between it and and the card base. This helps add some more interest, and helps to visually connect the background with the focal point.

As for all those little flowers and sprigs, I stamped, stenciled and die cut those using the Bitty Holiday Botanicals collection.

PRO TIP: This is another case where adding some shading with colored pencils, can really help to add some life to those little stamped images. I focused the coloring toward the center of the poinsettias and small flowers, and along the bottoms of the berries where they would naturally be more in shadow.

Winter Herbarium Labels stamp set

Similar to the Autumn version, this mini stamp set features wintery botanical names, perfect for labeling the dies from our Bigger Holiday Botanicals series introduced above and more. Again, like the Autumn version, it can be paired with the Label It die, but also works nicely with the Little Linked Labels suite introduced a little later in this post.

Large Linked Labels stamp set, die, & embossing folder

If you loved our popular Tear Strip Tags series, you’ll love these new label sets! Following the same concept as the Tear Strip Tags, the die cuts three labels that stay intact for easy stamping (or embossing) all in one go, and can then be snipped apart. The icing on the cake? This set has a matching embossing folder for adding gorgeous embossed details to the labels! Whether you like stamping, embossing or both, this pretty label set has you covered. The stamp set includes a variety of sentiments for both the holidays as well as year-round applications. Little Linked Labels stamp set, die, & embossing folder

Similar to the Large Linked Labels set introduced above, we also have a similar concept in a smaller size! The Little Linked Labels die cuts a strip of 5 labels. The coordinating stamp set includes a stamp for stamping decorative borders on all five labels in one go, plus an assortment of sentiments perfect for gift tags and labels. The embossing folder can handle two strips of labels for making quicker work of adding pretty embossed details. The embossing folder and stamps can be used independently or combined.

Capsule Collection Holiday Borders stamp set, Capsule Filigree Borders, Capsule Quick Tags stamp set, & Capsule Basics stencil

We’re continuing to add elements to our Capsule line up! We have some new holiday border stamps, a set of gorgeous frame dies that add a delicate decorative border, some quick tag images, and a basics stencil set. The Quick Tags set features two different all-in-one images that includes a border, to/from sentiments, and lines for writing, all designed to fit on the second-from-the-smallest plain oval from the Capsule Basics die (one step smaller than the size that accommodates both the original Floral Borders and the new Holiday Borders), making them perfect for tags! The Capsule Basics stencil will be a go-to tool for creating with any of our Capsule products. While it can of course function as a traditional stencil, with lots of etched guidelines, it’s also a handy tool for alignment and positioning when using the stamps and dies from the Capsule line.

Regency Bow No. 1 and No. 2 dies

We have a couple of new bows coming your way! These two new beautiful bows were inspired by the elegance and symmetry of Regency-era design. They are simply gorgeous, easy to assemble, and work wonderfully with our Capsule line, and so many other things as well. Each set includes two sizes.

Hang It Up die & Capsule Christmas Gallery Prints

Our fun Hang it Up die can be added to nearly any basic die to turn it into a hanging work of art (or tag!). The set features two different hanger styles in a few different sizes. Try pairing them with our Capsule Basics or A2 Arches for starters! The Capsule Christmas Prints feature a lovely assortment of vintage images and are designed to be cut with the second-to-the-smallest plain oval die from the Capsule Basics set.

Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake embossing folder & die

We’re adding another die and embossing folder suite to our Shortbread Shapes product line. This one features a gorgeous star/snowflake design surrounded by a beautiful border. The best part? That pretty outer frame doesn’t feature any snowflakes, which means this one can stay on your desk all year long as a gorgeous basic! This set is sized for 5″ x 7″ cards, but the inner star/snowflake can certainly be used on smaller cards as well.

I’m so excited to share my projects with you! I’ll be sharing all of these in the intro video coming later today as well, so if you want to see and hear all about them, stay tuned for that. 🙂

First up, I had so much fun creating framed botanicals using the Bigger Holiday Botanical dies, the new Regency 1 & 2 bows, the Filigree Borders and more. One thing you’ll be seeing quite a lot of in today’s projects is woodgrain cardstock. Have you ever tried embossing it? I’m hooked! It turns out looking like beautiful carved wood! The kind used on my projects is Gmund Tindalo 111lb cardstock from LCI Paper.

This is a fun mix of tags and cards, all featuring clear acetate to mimic the look of pretty framed glass. I just used transparency sheets that you can pick up at just about any office supply/big box store.

First let’s talk about the cards from this grouping! This first one consists of two layers to create the frame…the new Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake die and embossing folder layered over a frame embossed with the Rosemal Reflections embossing folder (cut with the Capsule Basics die). The layering is just ooh-la-la pretty! I love how the flowers on the Rosemal frame just peek out a little from behind the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake frame (of which that outer frame has no snowflakes, so it’s going to be perfect for year round use!) I also nested one of the new Filigree Borders diecuts, cut from antique gold cardstock on the inside edge of the Rosemal frame.

The mistletoe on the cover was cut with the new Bigger Holiday Botanicals Mistletoe die. I used two mistletoe clusters to make a fuller, larger bunch. I also added a hanger cut from the same gold cardstock using the new Hang It Up die. I did some ink blending over the embossing using a blending brush and dark brown ink to bring out the embossing a little more and make it look even more like stained wood. On the inside is a sentiment, stamped with the new Capsule Collection Holiday Borders stamp set, heat embossed in gold.

Tip #1: To create the shaped card base, diecut the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake outer frame “on the fold”, positioning the die so that it doesn’t cut the left edge, resulting in a shaped card base.

Tip #2: Since this is a 5×7 sized card, the shaped card base created using the process in Tip #1 is going to be too large to go through a standard diecutting machine laying flat/open, so to cut the window, leave it folded and place the Capsule Basics die inside, with the blade side of the die facing the card front.

This next one uses the Rosemal Reflections frame, which was cut using the Capsule Basics die and embossed with the Rosemal Reflections embossing folder. I used the new Capsule Basics stencil set to help nest the dies just perfectly so they would line up with the embossing folder. It’s such a handy tool!

I again nested a Capsule Filigree Border diecut on the inside edge of the frame. The flowers were cut using the Bigger Holiday Botanicals: Paperwhite die and again I used the same sentiment from the new Capsule Holiday Borders set and a Hang It Up hanger.

This third one uses the same supplies as above, I just used some different dies for the florals…this time I used the Bigger Holiday Botanicals Poinsettia and Wax Flower dies.

And one more look at the all of them together…

Next let’s take a look at all of the tags that were done using the same concept…pretty botanicals on framed “glass”. These are perfect for tying to packages, but they would make beautiful ornaments as well.

These tags were created by using a variety of dies to create the outer frames, and then they all use the new Hang It Up die to add the hanger part. I love this handy little die…it can turn almost any basic shape die into a little hanging work of art (or tag!). The dies used to create the frames include the Capsule Basics, Capsule Filigree Borders, A2 Arches, and Hoopla Round (Hoopla Oval would also be a great choice).

Many of these use the new Little Linked Labels die, stamp set, and embossing folder to create the little labels, which were stamped with the botanical names using the new Winter Herbarium Labels stamp set. I added a second label to the backside of each, which was stamped with the “to/from” sentiment from the new Little Linked Labels stamp set.

These were just so much fun to put together! I also added ribbons and bows to all of them using the new Regency Bow No. 1 and No. 2, with the exception of the tiny Mistletoe arched frame – that ones uses a little bow from the Market Place Holiday Festoons die.

Next I have another batch of tags, this set uses the new Large Linked Labels stamp set, die, and embossing folder. I created a whole set of pretty little folded tags.

To create the folded tag bases, I folded a panel of cardstock, then used the Large Linked Labels die and cut it “on the fold”, positioning the die so that the left edge of the strip of labels did not cut. Then instead of using the labels horizontally as they are really intended to be used, I turned them the other direction to create vertical tags with the fold at the top. I created the colored labels by stamping the triple-frame image from the Large Linked Labels stamp set, heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then diecut them with the Large Linked Labels die. To add even more dimension I embossed them with the Large Linked Labels embossing folder.

Once my colorful labels were finished, I adhered these pretty labels to my folded bases and added hangers using the new Hang It Up die. I used the Bitty Holiday Botanicals stamp + stencil and matching die to make quick work of creating little florals to add to each tag. The sentiments are all from the Large Linked Labels stamp set.

I have one more set of tags, then I have a few more card ideas to share!

This next set of tags uses the new Capsule Christmas Gallery prints and the new Capsule Quick Tags stamp set. These were fun and relatively quick to put together after doing a bit of diecutting! I went ahead and diecut all of those cute vintage prints from the Capsule Christmas prints so that they were ready to go. I diecut a Capsule Filigree Border to go layer over each one, cut from vintage gold cardstock. I also cut bows and hanging rings for each using the new Regency Bow No. 1 and Hang it Up dies.

These tags are two layers that swivel to reveal the to/from portion of the tag – the Capsule Prints on the outside, with a Capsule Quick Tags layer underneath. I used the Hang It Up rings and tabs to create the swivel mechanism for each tag. Super simple to do, just fold the tab around the top of both tags and use a piercing tool to pierce through all of the layers, then insert a brad to secure (I used the Mini Screw Top brads), adding in the diecut hanging ring as well before securing.

The banners were diecut using the Rosemal Reflections die and stamped with the “gift for you” sentiment from the Rosemal Reflections Sentiments stamp set.

I have a handful of card ideas to share with you before we turn it over to the Inspiration team to see what they’ve been up to!

This first one uses the pretty new Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake embossing folder and die. It’s fun to play around with the different dies from the set, mixing and matching to create layers and cut-outs.

I diecut the pretty outer frame using the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake die, and also cut the star from the interior so that I could pop up the frame portion. I embossed both the frame and the interior star, as well as a full 5×7 panel using the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake embossing folder. I brushed some white ink onto the embossing to bring it out a little more. The sentiment was stamped onto one of the new Little Linked Labels, which was embossed with the Little Linked Labels embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Simple Mini Holiday Sentiments set released last month. I also added a red banner label underneath, which was cut using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels die, also release last month. The pretty floral and greenery accents were cut using the new Bigger Holiday Botanicals: Wax Flower die.

Next up I have some cute little star-shaped cards using the new Shortbread Shapes suite. I also pulled out an oldie (but goodie)…Candy Pops Peppermint Additions die.

I used just the star portion of the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake die to create the shaped card bases, again using the cut-on-the-fold technique. I then diecut the snowflake/star again to layer over the top, this time also using the optional section die – this part is optional, you can choose to use it or not, but I like how it added some extra detail to the design here. I embossed these with the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake embossing folder and brushed some ink to further highlight the embossing. I added the peppermint diecuts, a Shorbread Shapes: Rectangle Label (red) and also a smaller label, which was stamped, embossed and cut with the Little Linked Labels suite. The little greenery sprigs are from the Botanicuts Juniper die. When these were finished I flocked them using SnowFlock powder for a flour-y frosty look! Oh, and I added a couple of little peppermint embellishments from the Mint & Berry Bits as well.

Next I have a pair of cards that uses the new Capsule Collection Holiday Borders stamp set. I don’t know if you remember this card I created for the August release, but I loved the simplicity and elegance of it, and thought it would be fun to create a holiday version. I actually created two – one using the pine border, and the other using the holly version.

I kept the basic layout and everything the same and used the Capsule Basics die and Borders 1 hot foil, just like the original, but swapped out the floral borders for holiday borders instead, and also added bows using the new Regency Bow No. 1 die.

My final project share for today is a pair of cards again using several of those pretty new Bigger Holiday Botanicals dies, inspired by vintage botanicals (you know by now how I love them!).

The shaped bases were created using the largest plain oval die from the Capsule Basics set, then topped off with a Capsule Filigree Border, cut from vintage gold cardstock. I added just a little ink blending and brushing using Tea Dye ink for a more vintage look.

Then I had fun playing around with arranging those pretty botanicals. I also pulled out some previously released dies to mix in a few more greenery sprigs…I used the BotaniCuts Pine Bough and Juniper dies. All of the flower names and labels were stamped using the Winter Herbarium Labels stamp set and kraft-colored ink. I added the cute hangers using the new Hang it Up die. Even with the hanger added, these cards will fit in a 5×7 envelope, yay!

Rosemal Reflections Suite with Dana

Hello Friends! It’s Dana here today and I am excited to be back sharing some projects that use the Rosemal Product Suite. I just can’t seem to put these products away… I love the beautiful florals in this collection and how all of the products can be mixed and matched to give you so many possibilities! 

I started my first card by using the Rosemal Reflections stamp set to stamp my floral frame. I then used the Capsule Basics die set to die cut all of my oval and scalloped frames. I love how all of these products can be layered and combined to give you so many different possibilities. Next, I used the Rosemal Reflections Details die to die cut two of the floral clusters. I attached the florals in the opening of my floral frame and then used the Rosemal Reflections Sentiments set for my sentiment. 

Next, I  created a companion A2 card with the Rosemal Reflections stamp set. I embossed my card panel with the Rosemal Reflections embossing folder and then added my scalloped frame and stamped images to finish my card. 

Lastly, using the same products as above I created a coordinating gift tag.

Christmas Market Video Series Part 2 – Rosemal Reflections

Happy Wednesday! I’m back today with the next part of our Christmas Market video series. Since it’s obviously not Monday, things didn’t go as planned, lol. I got pulled into the warehouse to help get orders out, but I’m back today with a couple more videos. 🙂

Today’s videos focus on our Rosemal Reflections product suite.

Wild Wetlands Wedding Card with Dawn

Hello, friends! Popping in today with a project to share. We recently attended a wedding where Bart and I were given the task of creating a charcuterie grazing table for the guests to enjoy as they were arriving an hour or so ahead of the wedding. I’d seen pictures of the flower colors for the wedding since we were a part of the set up crew, and decided to make them a wedding card to coordinate with their colors. I chose a soft blue background because it complimented the flowers so well, and I love that it also reminds me of the sky, since the wedding was held outdoors. I hope the bride and groom love it!

Because we were there early in the day, it also gave me a chance to snap a picture of my card with a box of the flowers they were using on all the tables and such. Isn’t it so fun to see the inspiration along with the card it inspired?  Head over to my blog if you’d like to see the card with their flowers, as well as the grazing table we put together!

PRO TIP: You can make wedding cards that match your recipients’ wedding colors, too, by taking your design and color cues from what you see on the wedding invitation when it arrives!

I have been loving the Wild Wetlands die set, and created my own floral arrangement here, rather than using the large floral die. I die cut several different floral elements from the set, and then pieced them together to create my own design. This allowed me to eliminate the cattail and instead, add in more flowers….which coordinated a bit better with their wedding flowers.

PRO TIP: This die set is one that definitely has room to add a bit of colored pencil shading on the flowers and leaves. I did a bit of that on my flowers before I put them together.

PRO TIP: This set is also one that is SO fun to use foam adhesive on! You can give your flowers even more depth and dimension, just by popping some of the layers up with foam adhesive, rather than gluing them all flat!

Note that on the full flowers, I glued the inside detail (the stamen part) flat, but used foam adhesive on the front layer. I also used foam between the two layers on the bell shaped flowers. That little detail just makes these flowers come alive even more!

I used the new Capsule Basics Embossing Folder (LOVE!) with one of the Capsule Basics dies (also love!)! So simple, but they add so much detail to a card! Those are GREAT basics to have on hand and I’m guessing I’m gonna be using them on everything for awhile!

The sentiment is from the Capsule Collection Floral Borders stamp set.

One last look, just because it’s pretty! 🙂 I can’t wait to use this die set again…..I have a few more ideas brewing in my head, so stay tuned for more!
