Save the Date!

Happy Wednesday, friends! I’m popping in with some fun news and a little heads up about happenings around here in the coming week!

We’ve been busy, busy getting ready for the arrival of our next new collection. I know many of you have been anxiously waiting and wondering, so thank you for your patience! We ended up having to delay things a bit from our usual April release time frame. It has been an extremely busy season of life for us. I think we are in what they call the “sandwich generation”…finding ourselves smack dab in the middle of grown kids needing a bit of help with some major life events and aging parents with all of the health and life challenges that brings. It’s been a bit of a juggling act! Add in a little manufacturing hiccup and we find ourselves full speed ahead already well into the month of May.

BUT, I think it will all be worth the wait and I’m so excited about the new goodies we have in the works! The time is almost here to share all of the fun things that are coming in our new collection called Fête & Fiesta!

We’ll be sharing our first sneak peek on Friday (just a few days from now), and then we’ll be showcasing all of the new products next week with two days worth of product intros and blog hops with the team. The new products will be available in the shop at 10am EDT on Thursday, May 14.

Petal Pusher Card with Caly

Welcome, friends!

It’s Caly with you today.  I’ve been collecting The Greetery products for years and since I’m pretty new here on the blog, I get to share projects using products that I haven’t been able to play with.  Today’s card uses the Petal Pusher collection.

The Petal Pusher collection (Petal Pusher Background Die, Petal Pusher Blooms Die, and Petal Pusher Stencils) is versatile and can be used independent of each other for beautiful projects.  I combined all three on today’s card to create lots of texture and interest.

The Petal Pusher Background Die gives you the ability pop up or curl petals up to give more dimension to your card panel.  The stencils line up perfectly over the die-cut lines, making it easy to ink-blend and add color.

You can add additional texture by splattering the ink-blended panel, adding glitter to the flower centers, or adding sequins/gems. I didn’t do any of that, but simply layered my ink-blended and die-cut panel over a soft yellow cardstock panel.  

Using the loose die-cuts from the Petal Pusher Blooms Die, I layered the flowers over the flowers from the Petal Pusher Background panel to add additional dimension. 

To finish my card, I added a simple sentiment from the All Occasion Script set.  I hope you like it and that I’ve given you some ideas for different designs.

Silly Goose Mother’s Day Card with Kelly

Hello friends! It’s Kelly here today sharing a fun project for Mother’s Day! When the Silly Goose suite of products was introduced in March, I was telling my mom how much fun I was having with the geese and reminiscing about my childhood! I thought it would be fun to make a goose card just for her to give to her on Mother’s Day this year!

To begin, I created the gate because I wanted to make sure I chose the correct size frame/embossing folders, etc. to house the dimensions of the gate. I cut it twice using the Garden Gateway Die from Kraft Gray cardstock. I glued the two pieces together for a nice, sturdy piece and then added a bit of walnut stain distress oxide ink shading for added dimension and depth. The hinges and handle are cut from black cardstock and attached to the gate using liquid glue.

The next step was to get the stenciling done on the background panel using the Impressionist Garden stencil. I cut a piece of white cardstock using the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die and while I had everything at my fingertips, I created the card base using the same die. I like to use my MISTI for stencils so I can butt them up against the straight sides for a perfect matchup with each of the steps of the Impressionist Garden stencil. Once the stenciling was done, I got to work on the goose, using the Silly Goose die.

I cut her from white cardstock and then added yellow/orange ink to the feet and beak. I glued them on using liquid glue and attached the wing using a foam square. The hat was colored with shades of blue and coral flowers attached to the ribbon. I fiddled with the hat until I was satisfied with the arrangement and then added a piece of clear tape to the back to secure it in place.

Once that was done, I got to work on the frame. I cut it from white woodgrain cardstock using the same Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die making sure to cut the middle part as well. Once that was done, I used the coordinating Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts 3D Embossing Folder to add the details. I added some old paper and walnut stain distress oxide ink around the edges and on the inside of the scalloped opening. I layered it onto the stenciled panel using foam squares for dimension. The gate was also attached with foam squares along with Mrs. Goose!

I wanted some additional flower and foliage so I used the Bigger Botanicals: Oregano and Bigger Botanicals: Hawthorn Die to enhance the design. I pulled them apart and used them in the way that looked best with the gate rather than keeping each cluster together. The finishing touch is a sentiment that is cut using the Silly Goose Sentiments Die and then stamped in black using the Silly Goose Sentiments Stamp Set. This was such a fun card to create and I hope my mom likes it! Thanks for joining me today!

Stitched in Hope with Melissa

I love sewing-themed products and scripture passages that lift my heart.  Today’s card uses both of my favorite things to create a bright and cheery, uplifting card that will fill someone with hope.

I started by using the Embroidered Background stamp and soft purple ink to create my card base.  Next came an oval cut using the Hoopla Inserts Oval Die.  I love the soft, delicate detail this adds.

My sentiment is from the Strength for Today stamp set.  The coordinating dies make these sentiments pop off the card, giving them dimension.

Lastly, I surrounded my sentiment with flowers from the beautiful Floral Sampler stamps and dies.  All of the intricate details included in this set really dress up each flower and make them look realistically embroidered.

Beautiful Beginnings with Kelly

Hello and welcome friends! It’s Kelly here today and I’m thrilled to be here, as always! It’s such an honor and a privilege to share my creative projects with you! My project for today is one of those bittersweet cards to make and need. Saying goodbye can be hard, but making a going-away card with thought and intent can ease the pain, somehow. I’ve carefully selected colors and patterns specifically with the recipient in mind, which is always an enjoyable part of the creative process.

To begin, I created the woodgrain frame combo that Betsy has successfully made us all fall in love with! Haha! When I want my design to feel special and elevated, I turn to this idea, especially when it fits the theme and look I’m going for, which in this case, was PERFECT! I used the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflakes Die with woodgrain cardstock (available from LCI Paper) and then finished it off with the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflakes Embossing Folder.

This particular woodgrain cardstock is dark, but I wanted it even darker so I used walnut stain distress oxide ink and a finger dauber to really give it a rich look. I repeated these steps to create a second layer, but on this layer I used the Capsule Basics Die to cut the capsule shape from the middle and then embossed it with the Rosemal Reflections Embossing Folder. I sponged the same ink over the top for continuity. I was tempted to try the Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder on this one, but in the end opted not to. I think I might give it a try this spring with the white woodgrain cardstock and see if I like that!

Once the two frames were done, I created the card base from Kraft cardstock and then layered the frames over the top using liquid glue for the bottom frame and foam squares for the top frame. I cut the middle capsule portion using the Capsule Basics Die from cream colored cardstock. I added some blue ink blending and ink splatter to the center to create depth and shadow behind the focal piece. I also added a Filigree Frame that is cut from Antique Gold and glued it over the top using liquid glue.

Once the base was all ready to go, I got to work on the focal point. I used the Wild Wetlands Die and added ink to all of the various pieces to achieve the look I was going for. I followed the assembly instruction on the back (believe me, these are important for this die ;)). I cut the base layer twice and glued them together for a nice sturdy piece. Once it was all glued and assembled, I tucked it slightly behind the top frame and secured it with foam squares for added dimension.

I found the perfect sentiment for this card in the New Day Sentiments Stamp Set. I heat embossed the one I chose in gold and then cut it out using the coordinating New Day Sentiments Die. I added it to the bottom of the frame using foam squares. At this point, I could have called it done, but I was hoping for additional special details, so I cut some gold accents using the Hang It Up Die and secured them with foam squares. A sprinkling of glitter finishes off this design!

As sad as it is to see my friend go, I’m happy I can give her a special card to let her know how much I love and appreciate her! Thanks for joining me!

Simple Bigger Botanicals with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends!  It’s Laurie Willison here! I have a fun and springy card today using one of the new Bigger Botanicals.  The Starflower was calling my name so I decided to die cut it first and build the card from there.  I used green cardstock for the stem/base and then die cut 4 of the blooms.  I layered the first 2 blooms flat on the base and then, after adding a little alcohol marker detail, I added the 2nd layer of bloom with just a dot of glue in the center.  I curled up the edges to give the flowers some dimension.  

I grabbed a white card base and masked off a frame around the front.  Using a large ink blender, I added in a coordinating pale peach ink to the front.  After die cutting the Ribbon Frame in white cardstock, I die cut it again in fun foam and layered them together.  This makes for the perfect dimensional frame for the card front.  Using liquid glue, I attached the Ribbon Frame on the card front and then popped up the Starflower along the side.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from  Simple Spring Mini Sentiments in black ink and a few black gems for the flower centers.

Bitty & Bigger Botanical Combo with Dana

Hello Friends! It’s Dana here today and I am excited to be back on The Greetery Blog to share a card with you all. I love the new Bigger Botanical dies that were part of the latest release and I couldn’t wait to combine them with the original Bitty Botanicals set… so that was my inspiration for my card today.

I started my card by creating my card panel with the Bitty Botanical stamp and stencil set. I stamped the foliage with a moss green ink and added pink blooms with the coordinating stencil. I then used two of the Diamond Ribbons stencils to add the ribbon detail to the panel. I used aqua and light pink ink for my blending.

Next, I created my floral sprig with the Bigger Botanicals: Soapwort dies. I ink blended the floral stem and attached it to a frame I created with the Capsule Basic dies and Capsule Filigree Borders dies. I then used the Rosemal Reflections: Sentiment stamp set and Rosemal Reflections dies for my sentiment (if you have the Tangled Tulips die, the same banner is included in that set as well). Lastly, I attached my Capsule frame to my card panel and added a white frame around the panel that I die cut with the Frosted Frame die to finish my card.

Silly Goose Birthday with Wanda

Hi creative and crafty friends! It’s Wanda here today on The Greetery Blog! Hope you had a wonderful Easter and that everything is good in your crafty place! I am still loving a pretty Spring color palette and brighter, more cheery cards for the season. How amazing was last month’s new release? I loved it all! I knew I wanted to make some more Silly Goose cards, and I have one to share with you today. I made this one for a girlfriend who loves geese and I used a pretty color scheme grounded with cream and kraft… Let’s look!


My finished card is an A2 Cream card base. I used the A2 Stitched Scallops Dies in Kraft to make a pretty background. I layered on some gingham paper and then another cream panel. I die cut out all the pieces for my cute goose, her hat, and the balloons using the awesome Silly Goose Dies. (I am obsessed)… I put the goose together and added shading with Copic Markers. 

I die cut two hats and hand cut out the stripes to make it a bit more festive! White gel pen accents on there too! For the balloon, I gently inked the tops of the balloons with matching Distress Inks. The balloon strings are gold cardstock.

I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiments from the Silly Goose Sentiments stamp set and I used the matching die for the larger sentiment. I cut the smaller sentiment out with my paper trimmer. I layered all the pieces onto my card using foam squares for added dimension.

Tangled Tulips Card + Video with Caly

Hello!  It’s Caly with you today and I’m excited to share a project using the Tangled Tulips collection.  I made use of the stamp, stencils, both die sets, and the embossing folder for my 5” x 7” card.

To see step-by-step how this card came together, I put together a video for you!

A few more details…

I used the Capsule Basics Die to die-cut my white and decorative scalloped borders.  I also used a Capsule Filigree Border on the top layer for a bit of gold accent.

As far as ink goes, I only used three colors.  The same pink color is used throughout.  Ink-blending results in a softer color and stamping results in more saturated color.  Two different colors of green are used to provide contrast with stamping of the tulips border.

The final layer features the Tangled Tulips Detail Die.  The layered die-cuts gives the card so much texture and color!

Flower Filled Egg Cards with Dawn

Hello, friends! It’s my turn to share a project today and I’ve got a fun one for you, in time for sending out some sweet Springtime cards.

I used lots of goodies from the newest release, starting with the new Golden Egg and Golden Egg Filigree Borders dies.

I started out by die cutting the eggs and the borders. Next, I die cut all the flowers in fun colors and assembled them before laying them out how I thought I’d want them on the eggs. I used the Bigger Botanicals: Mallow, Hawthorn and Soapwort dies to create all the flowers. Once assembled, I used my colored pencils to add some additional shading to all the flowers and leaves.

Next, I stamped the sentiments from Simple Spring Sentiments on each egg and then glued all the flowers in place.

PRO TIP: Using foam adhesive on the flowers and simple glue on the stems and leaves, gives your die cuts a bit of depth and interest, since they’re not all at the same level.

PRO TIP: When filling an die cut image with smaller die cuts, I like to let some of the small die cuts (flowers in this case) hang over the edge on one side of the large image (the egg, here). The coral flower is extending beyond the edge of the egg on the left, and I trimmed off the flower on the right.

In the case of the blue egg, I just positioned the flowers better so that they hung over the edge on the left and not at all on the right.

After the flowers were in place, I carefully added the filigree border. I was just mindful when glueing down the flowers, where I would need to be able to tuck that border under a flower/stem. I also used the Tangled Tulips embossing folder to add some extra texture to the card fronts before attaching the flower-filled eggs.

I hope this has inspired you to whip up a card or two to celebrate Spring and brighten someone’s day!
