Cards with Caly – Patriotic Pairings

Hi, everyone!

It’s Caly with you today and I’m excited to share two projects using the Star Spangled Summer Suite!! I have been wanting to use this collection for a while and I’m glad I’m getting the chance to make cards with them for this post! I used elements from this collection and also incorporated a few other elements.

Both cards are patriotic and are embellished with a bouquet from the Best Bouquet Details Die.  To add depth and movement, I highly recommend adding dark ink to the flag and bow.  Die-cuts can also be given dimension and shading with a darker, coordinating ink color once die-cut with colored cardstock.

My sentiments are embossed in gold over blue cardstock and also ink-blended with a dark blue ink around the outer edges to give them more interest on the cards.

I know you can’t see them too well because I tend to have a light hand when ink-blending, but you can add a vintage feel to the cards by ink-blended your card panels with a brown ink.
