Hey Friends!

It’s time for some Inspiration Friday fun at The Greetery and it’s my turn to share today! I haven’t used the Winterberry Bouquet goodies in quite awhile and I love them so much, so I decided to pull them out for a play again! One of my favorite things to do when stamping, is to pull out older sets and pair them with brand new goodies, so this provided a perfect opportunity to do exactly that!

I paired this gorgeous floral with the more recently released Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops Die, the Big Branches: Ruscus Die, the Tagged Elegance sentiment stamp set and the oldie but goodie sentiment set, Sentiment Suite: Birthday.

Such a fun combo and honestly, even though most of these dies and stamps were part of winter or holiday releases, depending on your color choices, you could make these cards for year round occasions. I mean, just picture some really fun, juicy colored berries for a summer card, paired with some bright green ruscus! Loads of options with these goodies!

I’ll never not love pinks and reds together, and think it makes for such a fun birthday card here! Use multiple shades of green on the leaves when you’re blending on the ink with the stencils! It gives the leaves SO much more depth than if you just use one flat color!

New Beginnings Collection Day 1 – Easter & Babies

We have an adorable new series of baby dies, along with a coordinating stamp set. These cute diecut images can be embellished with a variety of faces from the coordinating stamp set. The stamp set also includes lots of mix and match sentiments that coordinate with the various dies from the Baby Face collection. This 4-piece stencil is designed to create pretty spring floral sprays. As designed, it will perfectly surround the Rejoice! sentiments showcased above, but these pretty sprays can be paired with other sentiments from your collection, or used in many other ways as well.

I’m excited to share tons of projects with you using today’s introductions!

First up are a few projects using the Spring Sprays stencil and die.

This first one is a pretty Easter card using the new Rejoice! hot foil paired with the Spring Sprays stencil and die. I started with a light kraft base and stenciled the Spring Sprays design using Oxide inks in green and pink, along with some white pigment ink for some of the flowers.

I added a few diecut flowers for extra dimension. The banner is from the Christmas Time Sentiments die. I folded the banner so that it better fit my sentiment (from the Rejoice! stamp set). I love this also gave it some dimension.

Next up is another card using Spring Sprays along with the Rejoice! die. I went for a softer look here, and started with a lilac card base and added the stenciling with soft blues, purples, and white. The backing for the Rejoice! sentiment was cut from vellum for a soft look.

I again added just a few diecut flowers using the coordinating Spring Sprays die to add more color and dimension to the stenciled design. I also love to add some colored pencil shading and dotted pen details to the stenciling. To add a final finishing touch I added scalloped borders to the top and bottom, which were cut using the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die

While the Spring Sprays stencil is designed to perfectly surround the Rejoice! sentiment, you can use them in other ways, with lots of other sentiments as well. Here I used the coordinating Spring Sprays die to diecut the stenciled flower clusters so that I could position them around a birthday sentiment from the Birthday Blooms set.

I used small brushes to do the stenciling, which allowed me to add lots of different colors to the stenciled flowers. To create the pretty, textured background I layered some scalloped strips cut with the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die.

For this next card using Spring Sprays, I took a different approach by using more diecuts. I started by stenciling just the foliage step of the design onto a light blue card base. Then, instead of stenciling the flowers, I used the individual blooms included in the Spring Sprays die to create the design, but using diecuts instead of the stencils

A technique I’ve really been enjoying recently is layering diecuts. For the flowers here, several of them are double layered, with a sandwich of foam adhesive between. I love the depth and dimension this gives, especially when you use two different colors. The sentiment here is from the All Kinds of Happy die, All Kinds of Happy Shadow die, and matching stamp set.

Next up I have a few Easter cards and wraps using some of our other new products.

First is a pair of sweet Easter cards using the Bunny Kisses die and sentiments from the Tear Strip Tags: Spring set. These sweet bunnies are a larger, stand-alone die version of that cute bunny from our Spring Time set. They make an adorable (and quick!) focal point. They’d be cute for baby cards as well.

The diecut backgrounds were created by using our new Ribbon Maker: Easter Egg and Ribbon Maker: Daisy Chain dies. I diecut some Arches to place behind the bunnies. The Bunny Kisses die includes a few things for the bunny to hold – a flower and some eggs, which I used both of here.

The sentiments were stamped using the Tear Strip Tags: Spring stamp set. I double-cut the Tear Strip Tags die to create banners instead of tags. To do this, just run the die through your machine (banner end first), and stop before it gets to the tag top. Then pull it out, flip it around (align the die with the side edges of your partial cut) and run it through partially again to cut the other end. Sounds a little confusing, but pretty simple to do. 🙂 Again I was having fun creating diecut “sandwiches” here by layering two bunny diecuts with foam adhesive in between to create the layered look on the bunnies.

I also created some tags and simple wraps using several of our new products. The tags here were cut using the Crimped Circle Tags die, then embellished with the Bunny Kisses die and Baby Face Lamb die. I added sentiments from the Tear Strip Tags: Spring set.

The band on the box was cut using the new Ribbon Maker: Easter Egg die and the new Robin’s Egg paper rolls. I topped it off with a diecut bow using the Loopy Bow Builder die. To add some extra details around the lamb I added some small flowers and greenery sprigs cut with the Winter Medley die.

Now for tons of baby projects! Let’s start with some cute and simple wraps…

The pretty bands were cut using our new Ribbon Maker: Daisy Chain and our Ribbon Maker: Star Strip die that was released around the holidays. The daisies are perfect for baby girls, and the stars for a boy version. I topped them off with diecut Loopy Bows and added tags diecut with the Tear Strip Tags die and stamped with the Tear Strip Tags: Baby stamp set. I snipped apart a single star and daisy from the ribbon strips to use as toppers on the bows.

And now for several projects using the new Baby Face series.

First is this super sweet card using the Baby Face: Swaddle die. I thought it would be adorable to put this sweet baby bundle in a basket, so I pulled out my Market Baskets die. The largest basket from the set was a great fit after trimming down the height so just the top two rungs of the basket remain.

To fill out my basket I added a little folded “blanket” cut with our Cozy Cup Coaster die, and a few sprigs and flowers cut with the Winter Medley die. I added my basket to a Crimped Frame diecut, stamped a sentiment from the new Baby Face Sentiments stamp set, and layered it over a panel that was stamped with a floral background stamp we’ll be introducing tomorrow. The face was also stamped using the Baby Face Sentiments stamp set – I chose the cute little yawning face for this project.

Next I have a pair of small notecards, also made with the Baby Face: Swaddle die. I used my A2 Arches die to create the shaped bases, and the A2 Arches stencil to sponge some color on the backgrounds. The faces and the sentiments were stamped using the Baby Face: Sentiments stamp set. I love adding the little details from the Swaddle die…the hair curl, bow, and tiny safety pin. I cut the safety pins from metallic cardstock and snipped one side so I could hook it around the edge of the “blanket”. So sweet!

My next card uses the Baby Face: Elephant die. There are two sizes of elephants included in the set, I used them both here to create a mommy and baby elephant. The Falling Hearts Background was perfect for pairing with the “showered with love” sentiment, which was stamped using the Baby Face: Sentiments stamp set.

I placed my elephants on the top of an A2 Arches diecut (the largest from the set), and added some diecut flowers cut with the Baby Face: Elephant die, plus some flower bits.

Up next? The sweet Baby Face: Lambs. Like the elephant, there are two sizes included in the set. You can create standing or sitting lambs by using the pieces with our without the legs. I used the legs on the larger, and omitted them on the smaller so the baby is nestled under the larger one. The white flocking sheets we carry in the shop are perfect for diecutting some velvety soft lambs.

The cute and punny baaaby sentiment is from the Baby Face: Sentiments stamp set. For the background, I diecut some cloudy layers using our Silver Lining die. I also used the Big Branches Eucalyptus die to add the greenery around them.

Next is Baby Face: Sweet Pea. It’s so fun to stamp the cute little expressions on the peas! You can definitely omit stamping the faces so that this die would be fun for summery garden-themed projects as well.

I created the focal point by placing my Sweet Pea die in an Arched frame. The background was stamped with the Seed Catalog stamp in soft pink. I added more of the greenery/blooms included in the Sweet Pea die around the edges. The sentiment was stamped onto some Sentiment Suite Basics diecuts using the Baby Face Sentiments stamp set.

Now for the sweet Baby Face: Bee. There are two sizes of bees in the set as well. For this card, I wanted to create a cute birthday card instead of a baby project. There are sentiments in the Baby Face: Sentiment stamp set that coordinate with the bee, but for this project I pulled out my Buzz-Worthy Sentiments set.

I started with a pale blue card base and added some clouds which were actually cut with the Baby Face: Lamb die! I scattered several Baby Face Bees across the card front. I also tucked in a few tiny bees, which were stamped with the Container Garden set. Just a fun and happy birthday card for a special little someone!

Most of the Baby Face dies can be used for other non-baby projects as well! My next few projects show a baby card as well as a non-baby card using the same dies.

First is Baby Face: Orange die. There are two sizes of oranges, plus some leaves and blooms included in this set.

For the baby card I used a pair of oranges and used the Cutie sentiment from the Baby Face Sentiments stamp set. I layered them over a Crimped Circle diecut.

For the non-baby card I used a Crimped Slimline diecut as my base and filled it with oranges and greenery from the set, plus the small blooms from the set. So summery!

Lastly, a couple of cards using the Baby Face: Sprout die – again, a baby card plus a non-baby card.

For the baby card, I put the little sprout on a window sill, which was created using the A2 Arches die plus a wood strip cut with the Curio: Cover die. The sentiments used here were from the Baby Face: Sentiments stamp set. I used the A2 Arches stencil set to add the darker blue border around the arch cut-out.

These two cards are so different, it’s hard to believe they use the same products, but they do (with the addition of some more plants cut with the Macra Made for You Fillers die). This time I used the A2 Arches and Curio: Cover die to create a boho-inspired plant wall design. I filled several of the pots from the Baby Face Sprout die using the plant from that die as well as the various plants from the Macra Made For You Fillers die. The “hello” sentiment was stamped using the Baby Face Sentiments set.

TGIF – Christmas Crackers with Kelly

Hello and welcome! It’s Kelly here today and I hope you’re all ready for Christmas and anticipating the joy and happiness of the day! I have officially sent out every single Christmas card I’ve made this year as well as a few stragglers from years past! With that being said, my creative spirit can never really be finished with Christmas! My project today is perfect for those of you who many find yourself in the same position and eager to create!

As soon as I saw the All Wrapped Up Collection, I knew it would be perfect to create Christmas crackers to be placed at each dinner setting on Christmas Eve or Christmas day! I created 7 crackers in total and I will explain how I made them and some tips and tricks to make assembling them a cinch! My cute mom and sister did the twelve days of Christmas for me one year and gifted me the beautiful “Night Before Christmas” tableware! They’re my favorite thing to use each holiday season and these crackers will look so cute at each place setting!

Ahead of making my crackers, I had saved any empty rolls of wrapping paper and paper towels. I just couldn’t bring myself to use empty toilet paper rolls! Ha ha! You can also find cardboard rolls online if you’d like that better. I used a finely serrated saw to cut each roll to 4 inches; you can choose what size suits you best. I purchased rolls of crepe paper that measured 10 inches, so I wanted the overhang to be long enough to add the scallop details. You can see in the photos that I made a few without scalloped edges so you can decide what you like best. You’ll also want to decide ahead of time what all you’ll be putting inside your crackers; traditionally they hold a paper crown, a joke, a sweet, and maybe a small trinket for children.

I used the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops Die and the Ribbon Maker: Petite Scallops Die to cut all of the details for the ends and the body of the crackers. I used liquid glue to attach the smaller scallop pieces to the ends of the crepe paper and set them aside to dry. To assemble, I simply added a 3 inch or so piece of 1/4-inch ScorTape to each of the long ends directly in the middle where it would adhere to the cardboard tube. I used a piece of grid paper to center everything and get the proper placement. As I mentioned earlier, my crepe paper measures 10 inches and the tubes are 4 inches. I simply laid the crepe paper out straight on the grid paper, placed the tube on top at one end between the 3 inch and 7-inch mark to make certain the tube was centered and rolled it up securing it at the end with the ScorTape. From there, I tied the ends (fill them up at this point) using silver stretchy cord. I used more ScorTape for the larger scallop piece in the center; this can be easily repositioned if needs be. I had a few that I didn’t center that well and it was a breeze to reposition, surprisingly enough!

As much as we all love “handmade”, I often like to use something that gives my project a professional touch; cue the hot foil! I used the Tag Team Duo Holiday Sentiments Hot Foil and then die cut them using the Tag Team Duo Die. I added them to the middle of the crackers using foam squares in the middle. I tucked some greenery that was colored using assorted Distress Oxide inks using the Big Branches: Eucalyptus, Pine, and Ruscus dies! I tucked pieces here and there around each of the sentiments until I was pleased with the placement. I actually wanted to embellish them even more, but then remembered that they’re “crackers: and will be shredded come celebration time! Ha ha! You can definitely add as little or as much as you’d like depending on your preferences! If you like this idea, but don’t feel like you have time to put them together before Christmas, you could always make some glitzy crackers for New Year’s Eve! I can see all of the sparkles now!

I had so much fun putting these together and I think my family will love them! My cutie patootie 3^rd grader came home from school the other day with his “tissue paper and curling ribbon” cracker and had so much fun pulling it and eating the treats! Oh, and that reminds me…..you CAN buy the actual “crackers”….the part that goes inside that makes a cracking noise when it is pulled. They came in a pack of 100 so I opted not to get them, but if you’re making a large amount and you’d enjoy that feature, then I say add them! Thanks for joining me today! TGIF – Holiday Thank You Cards with Angelica

Christmas is almost here, which means presents will soon be arriving… so I spent some down time getting a jump on Thank You cards. I thought it was a sweet touch when I saw Betsy had added a “For The Gift” stamp to the Tagged Elegance stamp set, and knew I wanted to use it on today’s cards.

These cards are completely inspired by Betsy’s beautiful cards she shared during the All Wrapped Up reveal a few weeks ago. I die-cut colored card stock with Ribbon Maker: Petite Scallops Die, and made a clean and simple background by adding three strips from the same color family to a light cream panel. Since I had a lot of circles left over from making Round About Winter Foliage wreaths, I used them to stamp the sentiment onto. I hand-stamped the sentiments with black ink, and attached them to the panels. The panels were put onto card bases, then I moved onto making Loopy Bows.

I made several bows with the Loopy Bow Builder Die, and picked 2 for these cards. I love putting these bows together. Each bow has its own character, and I think that’s so clever! I put a red bow on the green card, and a green bow on the red card.

I still have more thank you cards to make, and I will be using this layout for all of them. Whenever you’re looking for inspiration, don’t forget about The Greetery’s Look Books. Seeing other crafters creations can really help inspire ideas, like Betsy did for me with these cards!

Now that we’ve introduced all of the new products, shall we get to the projects?! I’m ready!

Last week I shared several sneak peeks of my paper crafting/gift wrapping “charcuterie board”. Here is the board in full! So many fun goodies to add to my tags and wraps as we go through the holiday season (I’ve already burned through a lot of it…NEED to make more!).

First let’s take a look at the assortment of tags I created using the products from this new collection…

I’ll show a close-up of each and share a little more info about each. I also have some short videos that I’ll share in the coming days via Instagram and our Youtube channel.

First is this pair of cute boho ornaments with crocheted details using our new Round About Winter Foliage die. I’ll be sharing a short video in the coming days, showing how I put these together, but it’s pretty simple.

I layered two of the Round About dies, keeping the foliage at the bottom, leaving the top edge as just a ring so that I could crochet around it. After I finished adding the crochet detail, I looped a small Crimped Circle Tag to it using some twine, and also added some wood beads. The sentiment was stamped with the new Tagged Elegance set.

Next is this pretty wreath tag, again using the Round About Winter Foliage die. This time I diecut and layered four of them, rotating them around the circle to create a full, pretty wreath. I used the new BotaniCuts Mistletoe die to add the red berries. I attached the wreath to the larger Crimped Circle Tag from the set. I tied the whole works to a second Crimped Tag die, which was foiled with a to/from sentiment using our Tag Team Duo Hot Foil Sentiments.

Next up we have a nice little pile of these wonderful slim tags using the new Tear Strip Tags die and stamps. I love this concept, how quick and easy they are, and the fun modern shape. I left some of them intact and I’ll snip them apart as I use them. The clustered sentiment stamps in the matching stamp set make these come together so quickly!

This final pair of tags uses our new Banner Gift Tag die, layered over the larger circle tag from the new Crimped Circle Tags die set. The Banner Gift Tag can be super quick by just using the one-piece to/from circle, or you can step it up a bit by layering the individual words and banners over the base to make multi-colored/layered designs. I did a little of both here. The banners are the perfect place to write the names of the giver/receiver. I added a few sprigs and blooms from our Winter Medley die to embellish them just a bit.

Gift wrapping is one of my favorite things during the holidays, but I have to admit, I often cringe when the pretty ribbons and faux greenery sprigs end up in the trash at the end of the party. That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about the next products I’ll be showing!

Our Ribbon Maker dies are designed to cut paper ribbons, and our Loopy Bow Builder die is perfect for adding paper bows. Add as many loops as you want…from simple bows with just a couple of loops, to super-duper loopy bows.

All of the new Big Branches dies are perfect for adding greenery and sprigs to packages. They are a great size, a little larger than some of our other products, and will definitely make a statement on a package. And again, since they’re just paper, no more worrying about them getting discarded once the gifts have been opened. I’m loving the warm and homey look that the Dried Citrus slices are giving to all of my packages as well.

I’ve shown you lots of gift wrap and tag options using our new All Wrapped Up collection, but these products are perfectly at home on cards as well. I have a few to share with you today!

First up is a pair of cards using the new BotaniCuts Mistletoe die layered over some gorgeous tone-on-tone backgrounds done with the new Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die.

The Loopy Bow Builder is perfect for adding to the top of the mistletoe bunch, and the new Tear Strip Tags die and stamps are a great way to add a sentiment tucked under the bow. I added lots of frosty glitter to my mistletoe bunches. The backgrounds were simply done by layering strips that were diecut with the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die. I chose two shades of read and two shades of green cardstock that were just slightly different from each other to add just a little more depth to the tone-on-tone effect. The different reds didn’t come through in the photos, but it’s a bit more obvious in real life.

Up next is a card that uses the new Dried Citrus Slices die. I just love these! I created a whole pile of them in different shades to look like dried oranges and blood oranges, lemons, and grapefruits.

I once again used the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die to create the background. I diecut them from white and layered them over a tan cardstock base. Then I built a pretty focal point using the Dried Citrus, Big Branches: Pine and Baby’s Breath, and the Loopy Bow Builder. The sentiment was hot foiled using the Tag Team Duo Sentiments and cut with the hexagon die from the Tag Team Duo die set.

Next I have a card that uses the new Round About Winter Foliage die. I love this die for tags and toppers, but it’s wonderful for cards as well. Here I diecut and stacked four of the Round About dies to create a quick and easy wreath.

I again added some berries using the BotaniCuts Mistletoe die. The Ribbon Maker: Small Stripes die makes a great backdrop for the wreath. I also topped it off with a Loopy Bow Builder diecut. The sentiment inside my wreath is from the new Tagged Elegance set.

My last project for today is a set of four “nature box” cards that I had so much fun creating. I used the Big Branches dies and enclosed them inside a large shaker that was made using the Curio: Cover die. I love how they look like pressed greens inside the frames!

Inside the shaker I enclosed the Big Branches Pine, Eucalyptus, Baby’s Breath and Ruscus, along with some faux snow and Snowfall Sequins. I stamped on the acetate using the “winter wishes” and “thank you” sentiments from the new Tagged Elegance set using white ink.
