Fresh Floral Birthday Card with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends!  It’s Laurie Willison here! I was inspired to pull out one of The Greetery’s fabulous Print Shop sets (Print Shop Fresh Floral) to create today’s card. I just love the ease of making beautiful floral backgrounds even for a quick and simple card. (Just a reminder that this Print Shop set is a Last Call item, meaning that it has limited stock available and will not be restocked once it’s gone!)

After ink blending up the blooms in the Print Shop: Fresh Floral Stamp and Stencil Set on a white cardstock base,  I grabbed the Postal Frames dies for the next step. I wanted that little dot frame detail by itself so I cut off the postage edge. I stamped the wavy frame from the Sweetest Frames set in a pale blue ink, inside the dotted frame. Using the Put a Bow On It Stamp Set, I added a sentiment. With an alcohol marker, I added a little extra detail in the bow to give it more depth. Such a fun way to add a sentiment to a card! For a little bling, I popped on a couple gold pearls to finish the card.

TGIF – Signed & Sealed Florals with Norine + Save the Date!

Happy Friday! It’s time for our weekly dose of Friday inspiration, but before we get to that, a bit of fun news! We have some new products heading to the shop next week! We’ll be sharing sneak peeks and a day of projects before the new products go up in the shop next Friday, August 13.

And now let’s turn it over to Norine for all of the details of the beautiful project she has for you today!

Hello Greetery friends!  It’s another Greetery Inspiration Friday, and I’m happy to be back to share a pretty little card incorporating bits and pieces from some of the older Greetery products!  My goal was to create a visual of opening an envelope and having tumble of flowers pour out!

I began with a lightly inked Shiplap die cut background, adhered to a card panel and folded card base.  Then I stamped and die cut an envelope from heavy weight white cardstock.  I stamped the outline in grey/brown ink and a liner in blue, visible only faintly behind the flower bouquet.

I stamped a variety of flower images from the Merry Sprigs, Print Shop Fresh Floral, Simple Things and Print Shop: Floral Frames stamp sets, then die cut them all and used a few to create the bouquet.  (Some left over for next time is always a good thing!)  I used the Pretty Postmarks sets to stamp and die cut the blue postage stamp.  (I notice in the shop, that the Pretty Postmarks stamp set is out of stock, so fingers crossed for it’s return soon)

I arranged the various flowers and leaves into a gracious bouquet and taped them on the backside of the envelope die cut.  With the shiplap planks, and the envelope and stamp positioned at a slant, I wanted at least the greeting to be oriented as close to perfectly horizontal as possible.

To accomplish that, I laid the envelope onto the card front, with all the components lightly tacked in place, then positioned the sentiment stamps on the envelope, lining them up with a T-square ruler butted against the left side of the card.  Then I removed the envelope and put it (with bouquet) into the MISTI, and picked up the perfectly placed sentiment stamps by closing the door of the MISTI down onto the envelope.  I like how it provides a solid focal point in the midst of everything else all tilted and askew!

It’s a pretty basic card design, just a little time consuming to stamp and die cut all the flowers, but if you keep an envelope of leftovers from other projects, you’re already halfway there!

TGIF – Pretty Pinwheels with Kay

TGIF! And it’s a good one too…Holiday weekend, woohoo! Whether you’re going out or staying in, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. If you’re sneaking in some crafting time, Kay is here with some weekend inspiration. Looking for a fun way to use those Pinwheels you just ordered? Just wait until you see the gorgeous project Kay has for you today!

Hi there!  Kay here, and I have a card to share with you today using  the new Pinwheel Party stencils and Pinwheel Party dies, along with some pretty florals from Print Shop Fresh Florals and Top Down Day stamp sets.

I’ve had a lot of fun playing with the Pinwheel Party stencils and dies. Although this is a birthday card, they are by no means limited to only birthday themed projects. I think they make lovely backgrounds just lightly stenciled onto your cardstock. I love to have a soft background for floral cards or collage type cards.

So for this card, I used the Pinwheel stencils and very lightly stenciled several different pinwheels in different colors and sizes onto the background. I speckled with a tiny bit of the same color inks. I then stenciled some more pinwheels and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I layered these onto the card with foam tape.  I stamped and cut out some of the pretty little bunches of flowers from the Top Down Day stamp set and tucked those behind the pinwheels. I also added some of the flowers and greenery from the Print Shop Fresh Florals stamp set.

To finish it up, I stamped the Happy from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, cut it out with the coordinating die and added it to my card with foam tape. The small birthday is also from the Birthday Blooms stamp set. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and added it below the happy with foam tape as well.

TGIF – Sending Sunshine & Tropical Vibes with Kelly

Are you craving some warmth and sunshine? Kelly has just the thing for you today…her projects for today’s TGIF post are like warm sunshine wrapped up in card form, filled with delicious colors and details. Take it away, Kelly…

Hello and welcome! It’s Kelly here today with this week’s TGIF post! If you saw my projects from the latest release, then you will know that I’ve really been enjoying adding some “postal” details to many of my designs! I just can’t seem to stop, so you will see that continue with today’s cards! I think many of us wish we were headed away somewhere fun and exciting, or maybe some of you have had some cancelled plans. I decided to bring a little joy and sunshine into my cards today with sunny yellows, cheery sentiments, and tropical flowers!

Just because you may not be going anywhere tropical doesn’t mean that you can’t send some warming cheer to a friend or loved one! That is what I was imagining as I created my first design using the BotaniCuts Lily.

These flowers are so much fun to create; each one its own little masterpiece.  When I first used these BotaniCuts, I had Easter in mind, but couldn’t wait to expand their usefulness by adding them to cards like I’m sharing today! I like to die cut each piece out of white cardstock (I kept my dies connected so I can easily send them through my machine in one pass). Once that was done, I used ink and blender brushes to add the different colors. I also added the black splatter by using a Color Spritzing tool and a black marker. I also spritzed each bloom with some Shimmer Spray.  I used some of the different splatter pattern as a guide for placement of the Crystal Glaze. It helped me achieve a more organic feel to the droplets.

The background was created by stamping the beautiful new Fresh Floral Background stamp in a cheery yellow which is the perfect backdrop to add the flowers, leaves, and foliage.  I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Fresh Air Stamp Set, in black at the bottom.  I gave the BotaniCuts Palm die cuts the same treatment as the lilies, but omitting the splatter. I really love arranging the flowers and leaves on my floral designs, tucking things here and there until I get the arrangement that I like. I used a mixture of foam squares and liquid glue to achieve the dimension I was seeking. A few postal images stamped here and there finish off this tropical design.

My second card is a little more simple in design, but I love the sweet details that Betsy’s stamps allow me to add. I am BEYOND smitten with the Print Shop: Fresh Floral Stamp and Stencil.

Once you have created one of these beautiful backgrounds, you will want to make a million more, and not to mention sit and stare at your background once you’re done! LOL! It’s embarrassing, but SO true! This darling kit makes the most beautiful backgrounds; the color combinations are limitless!

I used the Crimped Frame Die to cut the background so that I could give it the little border of yellow around the edges. I chose to use a color combination that would accent the first card I made so I chose yellows, corals, and pinks to bring the background to life. I chose the smallest crimped frame to add some extra details so as to not cover up too much of the background. I used the “hello” and the “just a note to say” sentiments from the Written in Ribbon set as well as a few postal touches (surprise, surprise) to finish off this cheery design.

Make & Tell: Print Shop Fresh Floral with Dawn

We’re doing something a little different for today’s Make & Tell Tuesday. We have a special guest that I think you’re going to love! Dawn shared these fabulous cards with me the other day and I asked her if I could share them with you here today! I’ll let her tell you all about them and her fun process for creating them…

So, during a release, there always seems to be a product or two that I fall especially in love with, and I end up with more ideas than time to create with it!  The Print Shop: Fresh Floral collection was one of those collections that I just didn’t want to stop creating with!  I had so much fun pulling it out again, to make this pile of cards!

I started out by just playing….I chose a color combo to work with that included five main colors, and then I set about stamping a pretty pile of die cuts and papers, all with those five colors. 

Once I had a pile of pretties to work with, I turned on my video camera to film a time lapse video for you and started making cards with no real plan in place.  I didn’t have any rules for myself or any expectations….I just wanted to see what sort of cards I could make out of the pretty embellishments and papers I’d stamped, whether it was three cards or ten.  Honestly, I think that because the video camera was running, it helped me to not think too much about things, and to commit quicker as I worked!  In the end, I’d made five cards…..in 70 seconds, according to the time lapse!  Ha!

I mixed and matched all the elements and used only white card bases, to make it a little faster.  I cut patterned papers apart and piled embellishments on, not worrying about the next card, or stretching the elements to go farther.  I just started gluing things together, and I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out!

You might notice that I took one of the patterned papers I’d stamped, and cut it into strips.  This allowed me to use that same sheet on a couple of different cards. 

I have to say that I can’t wait to do this same type of thing again, because I sure do love a pretty stack of coordinated embellishments and I love, love a pile of coordinating cards!!  Can’t wait to use these to send out some encouragement to loved ones!

Welcome to the final day of reveals and projects for our Fresh Air collection! I hope you’ve been enjoying all of the fun and projects. Aren’t our Inspiration Team members amazing? I just love seeing what they create – opening all of those emails with their project photos is one of my favorite things!

The new products being showcased today will be available to purchase in the THE SHOP beginning at 10am EDT on Friday, March 27, with the exception of some of the dies, as noted below (due to some issues with our die manufacturer including a move and some COVID-19 related issues, we are hoping to have these dies sometime in early April).

I got so much joy from creating these projects to share with you today! I think the two sets being shown today are some of my all-time favorites. Let’s get to it.

My first card uses the new Budding Beauties Spring paired with Bottled Up. I just loved pulling these bottles out again and stamping them in all kinds of springy colors.

I filled a couple of the bottles with the tulips and cherry blossoms from the Budding Beauties set, and also placed a tulip cluster at the base of the bottles. I was inspired by Norine’s use of the Cozy Cup Coaster die in her TGIF post a few weeks back, and tucked one here in a similar fashion. The background was done with our new Painterly Stripes Background stamp – I just love that diagonal plaid pattern. So simple, and it goes with everything!

I spent a whole afternoon stamping the tulips, baby’s breath and cherry blossoms from the Budding Beauties set, which made putting projects together so quick and fun! Here I just took two of the tulip stems and gathered them up with a Fit to be Tied bow for an easy birthday card.

The background here was one that I created for a different project and just wasn’t happy with how it turned out, but it worked perfectly with this card! Don’t you love that? I heat embossed our new Fresh Floral Background stamp onto watercolor paper using clear embossing powder, then watercolored over it. My original intent was to use this panel as more of a focal point of the project I was working on, but the texture in the watercolor paper didn’t give me great results with my embossing powder. So I tossed it aside, but layering a Crimped Frame panel over the top worked out perfectly and gives this card an artsy look.

My next card uses the baby’s breath image from the Budding Beauties Spring set. I was so excited to try embossing this image with white embossing powder. I love how that turned out!

I started by watercoloring a panel of watercolor paper with shades of blue. Then I stamped the baby’s breath stem three times using dark green ink. I then stamped the bloom portion of the baby’s breath with Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder. I layered the Just Mason Around jar over the top, stamped with Tumbled Glass and Blueprint Sketch inks. I finished it off with a sentiment tag done with the Sentiment Suite Basics die and Sentiment Suite: Birthday stamp set.

My next few projects use the new Fresh Air stamp set. I love how this set turned out so much! I have so many more ideas for this set…I need to find more time! 🙂 What ideas can you think of for things to put in or around that window?

To create the texture in the background, I used our new Brick Layer die. Oh man. I’ve always had a thing for brick images and textures and I just want to use this die on everything. 🙂 I dieuct both of the brick clusters from the die set from a panel of watercolor paper, then added some soft blue-gray around them. Before adhering it to my card base, I sponged my card base with some rusty orange ink to let the color show through the brick cut-outs. Once my panel was layered over the top, I also added some shading with a colored pencil to give even more depth the the image. The rest of the elements on the card are from the Fresh Air stamp set – the vine, the curtain, the shutters, and the potted plant. I layered just one half of the Fresh Air Window Frame die over the left side of the window, and attached it only on the hinged side so I could let it hang open a bit.

My last card was soft and delicate, but this next one is just bursting with sunshine! Here I pulled out that cute flower bouquet from the Top Down Day set that was introduced a few days ago, and filled up the “window box” as well as a pot.

The pot I used here is from the Macra-Made for You die collection, which is a great size for the flower bouquet from Top Down Day. I stamped the shutters in a sunshine-y yellow, and the two-step bricks from the Fresh Air set were stamped in shades of mint green. I also included the potted geranium from the Fresh Air set. So fun and cheery – I want to go visit this house, don’t you?

My next card combines elements from the Fresh Air stamp set with the Print Shop: Fresh Floral background. I had this pretty background lying around, and I just couldn’t let it go to waste.

For this card, I created a peek-a-boo window in the front of my card by using the simple arch from the Fresh Air Window Frame die. This arch matches up with the inside of the Fresh Air window, which makes it perfect for creating windows…well…in your windows! 🙂 I tucked the vine-y flower cluster from the Print Shop: Fresh Floral set at the top of the window cut-out, and a potted geranium from the Fresh Air set is perched on the windowsill. I stamped the “take care” sentiment from the Fresh Air set on the inside of the card so that it shows through the window cut-out.

When designing today’s products, I decided to pull the arch cut-out and frame die out of the main Fresh Air die set and make it its own stand-alone die because I think it has so much potential all on its own. I used it here to create this card, combined with the cherry blossoms from Budding Beauties Spring.

I started with a panel of watercolor paper, and diecut the arch cut-out twice, as well as the brick clusters from the Brick Layer die. I then added color to the brick areas using shades of gold and rust watercolor. I layered the window frame diecuts over the top, as well as two cherry blossom branches. I backed this panel with a second panel of watercolor paper, which was watercolored with shades of blue to show through the window cut-outs. I finished if off by stamping the “you’re on my mind” sentiment from the Fresh Air set.

Alpbhabuds Slim Product Suite + Slim Alpha die

This collection consists of multiple products with lots of mix and match possibilities! I put together a video outlining all of the different elements in this product collection, or you can read on below for all of the details.

Before we get to the projects, I put together a video for you, showing the new Print Shop: Fresh Floral set in action. This set is SO much fun, I can’t wait to show you how easy these pretty floral prints are to create…

My first project for today uses the Alphabuds Slim stamps + Alphabuds Slim Backer die to create this pretty focal point sentiment. I just loved stamping these letters in all sorts of cheery colors!

I layered these pretty stamped letters over a background that was made with the Painterly Stripes background stamp that was revealed yesterday, stamping twice to create the pretty plaid pattern. I finished off the sentiment with the “just a note to say” from the Written in Ribbons set, stamped onto a Sentiment Suite: Basics banner die. I framed it all with the Nordic Frames die, and embellished the corners with the floral clusters from the Alphabuds Slim stamp set, stamped onto the Details dies. Such a fun card to create!

Next I have a couple of card ensembles. The Print Shop: Fresh Floral set is so great for making matching sets since there are so many different elements that mix and match. This first set is done in pretty pinks and blues…

For this card I used the individual floral elements from the Fresh Floral set to create this gorgeous layered bouquet. I kept the sentiment on the simpler side and used just the Sentiment Starters die and the Slim Alpha die without any of the floral accents. I added the “on your birthday” using the Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You set. The pink background panel was stamped with the Fresh Floral Background stamp – I love how it creates such a cohesive, finished look. Of course that pretty panel was cut using the Nordic Frames die.

This coordinating monogram card uses the Print Shop: Fresh Floral stamps + stencil. I kept the rest of the card very simple to let that background really shine. The Alphabuds stamp set + Backer die was used to create the monogram. Can you imagine all of the fun monogram items you could create with these? Notecard sets, tags, bookmarks…so many possibilities! I created a monogramed envelope to match. To do that I used the Flappable stencil set. I diecut the “B” from a scrap of copy paper using the Alphabuds Backer die and used that as a mask while sponging the flap of my envelope with the scalloped stencil. Then I removed the mask and stamped the “B” along with the floral cluster. Doing it this way makes for a one-layer flap and I don’t have to worry about the monogram being ripped or torn off in the mail.

My next ensemble uses many of the same elements as the pink and blue set, just in different ways.

For the Thanks card, I heat embossed that pretty Fresh Floral background with clear embossing powder, then sponged purple and yellow inks over the top. I added a sentiment from the Sentiment Suite: Thank You set onto a circle diecut from the Sentiment Suite: Basics die set. I surrounded it with some of the individual blooms and foliage from the Print Shop: Fresh Floral set. For the other card, the sentiment is more of my focal point, which was made with a combo of the Sentiment Starters dies and Alphabuds. For the “you”, I diecut the letters from gold using the Slim Alpha die, and layered them over the Backers. I also snuck in some brick cut-outs using a die you’ll be seeing more of tomorrow!

I have one last project for you today. We can’t forget about Mother’s Day, which is fast approaching!

Here I created a pretty floral panel using the Print Shop: Fresh Floral stamp + stencil set. I layered a panel of white over the top, the edge of which was cut with the Nordic Frames die. I added a “mom” sentiment using the Alphabuds set combined with the “for” from the Sentiment Starters die. I finished it off with a sentiment from the Hand in Hand stamp set.
