TGIF – Frosty Floral Flakes with Melissa

Happy Friday and happy December! Melissa is joining us today with a gorgeous wintery card using a fun mix of old and new products.

I love using stencils on my card creations and The Greetery has some of the most beautiful stencils. I used the lovely Frosty Flakes Stencil to create my background, topping it was a block of vellum cut using the Postal Frames dies.

I then layered in some gorgeous snowflakes cut using the Snipped Snowflakes 1 die. I added in some stamped florals using the Pine Blossom stamps and dies. My sentiment comes from the Arched Holiday Sentiments stamps and dies. I tucked in a few sprigs cut from silver glitter paper using the Winter Medley die.

Mixed Media Ornament with Melissa + Save the Date!

Hello and happy Tuesday! We are getting to enjoy the most beautiful fall weather, it’s hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner! But it is indeed that time. Time to start thinking about all of the holiday prep…shopping, wrapping, cards, and all the rest! I love this time of year!

We are also busy getting ready for our last new product release of 2023. We have some fun things coming to the shop next week…wonderful products for gift wrapping, tag making, and of course cards and more. We’ll be sharing some sneak peeks later this week and revealing everything here on the blog on Monday, November 20 before our new All That Glitters collection hits the shop on Tuesday, November 21. We’d love to have you join us for the fun!

Now let’s hear from Melissa and the beautiful project she has to share today!

I’ve combined some of my favorite Greetery products on my Christmas card for you today and also added in a few mixed media elements too. Creating for Christmas is the perfect time to pull out all the stops when it comes to supplies!

I used the Pine & Berry Background stamp on Kraft cardstock. I coated the edges and a portion of the surface area with Shabby Green Embossing Enamel and then heat set it in place. I then die cut and stamped Pine & Berry images and arranged them at the top of my Jumbo Curiosity Teardrop Ornament. I added a Figgy Pudding Bow Topper die cut and a sentiment from the Pine Blossom stamp set to finish. A few bits of trim, piano sheet music, and red jingle bell were added to create a vintage look and feel.

TGIF – Peaceful Pine Blossoms with Kelly

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week. Kelly’s here today with a gorgeous TGIF project. Let’s get right to it!

Hi friends! It’s Kelly here today with this week’s TGIF feature! I’m shocked that we’re nearing the end of
October and heading into the holiday season! As a card maker, I’m often inspired by store-bought and
pre-printed Christmas cards! I’ll see one that catches my eye and say to myself,” I have stamps or dies
that would work perfectly to recreate that look or feel”! Do you do the same thing? For today’s card, I
saw a beautiful Christmas card featuring a large dove gracefully flying above a cluster of flowers and a
central sentiment! I knew for certain the new Peaceful Doves dies and the Peaceful Doves Details stamp
would make an appearance and for the flowers, I chose the beautiful Pine Blossom stamp set. This is
one that I haven’t used for awhile so it was fun to pull it out and give it some love!

To begin, I die cut the main bouquet using the Pine Blossom die and used the step-by-step stamps to
bring the image to life. I set it aside and got to work on the background; I don’t know about you, but I
can’t get enough of the arches! I used the beautiful Elegant Arches stamp and stamped it onto a
panel of aqua cardstock using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink. I also blended a bit of the same ink
around the corners for some dimension. Since I love layers so much, I decided to add even more depth
by adding an aqua arch that was die cut using the A2 Arches die with a hint of ink around the
edges. I layered it on top of the background using foam squares.

The card I used as inspiration used a Peace on Earth sentiment, but I opted for the Merry and Bright
sentiment from the Arched Holiday Sentiments stamp set. I like to die cut all of the different sentiments
at once and then stamp them using my MISTI so I have them on hand for other projects! I die cut the
sentiment using the Arched Holiday Sentiments dies and then stamped it in black. I have been saving all
of the bits and pieces from my projects for quite some time now and my plan is to sit down and make a
bunch of tags with the leftovers! Can you believe that I haven’t made a single Christmas tag this year?
My packages will be bare if I don’t get going!

I placed the Pine Blossom bouquet at the bottom of the arch leaving enough room for the sentiment. I used foam squares for both the bouquet and the sentiment; using double thickness for the sentiment so it would rise above the bouquet. I placed the two doves that had been stamped with the details, on either side of the sentiment. I felt like the card needed just a little something more, so I die cut the little sprigs and flowers using the Winter Medley die and colored them using finger daubers and Distress Oxide ink. I added the tiny flowers using liquid glue and then had fun tucking them here and there until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I added some white paint splatter for a snowy look. I also added some glitter to the doves, the flowers, and the extra dies for that holiday sparkle I love so much! I layered the entire panel onto a top-folding A2 white card base using liquid glue.

Once it was done, I was so happy with the depth and dimension that was certainly not on the pre-printed design!! Ha ha! I hope you get a chance to let something spark your creativity and pull out some fun combinations of products! It’s fun to get your mind working in new and different ways, especially if you’re in a rut (we’ve ALL been there}! Thanks for joining me today!

TGIF – Pretty in Purple with Angelica + Save the Date!

Hi friends! Thanks so much for joining me today. I have a fun project to share, focussing on the Pine Blossom stamp set, And Shiplap Builder die.

I started by picking out a palette of Distress Oxide Ink colors. My mother-in-law was my inspiration, and purple is her favorite color. I used Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey, and Black Soot on the large flowers, and Dusty Concord for the small flowers. The stems and leaves are Forest Moss, Chipped Sapphire, and Crushed Olive. I used finger daubers to add the ink to the stamps.

The sentiments are also from the Pine Blossom stamp set. I blended Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide inks onto white card stock, and tapped a bit of ink and paint onto the panels. Once dry, I die-cut them with a Crimped Frame, and mounted them on coordinating card stock.

For the background, I followed directions from Betsy’s recent YouTube Video. I did a blotch blend of Victorian Velvet, Weathered Wood, Dusty Concord, and Milled Lavender Distress Oxides onto inexpensive watercolor paper, and I quickly brushed watered-down white gouache paint with a wide paint brush. Once the panel was dry, I die-cut the Shiplap pieces, and attached them to a panel. I trimmed the panel, assembled the card front, and adhered them to card bases.

I love how this color palette turned out! Purple is not my go-to color for Christmas, but it works, and my mother-in-law is going to love it! I hope I have helped with inspiration using these products together. Thanks so much for joining me!

TGIF – Spring Pine Blossom with Heather

Heather is here today with a fun TGIF project using Pine Blossom. It’s not surprising to hear that the Pine Blossom set is one of Heather’s favorites. She’s known around the crafting world by her online name Pinefeather, and her style is quintessential rustic, so this set is just perfect for her! Read on to see how she turned this “holiday” set into spring just by changing up her color choices…

The Pine Blossom stamp set is one of my very favorites that The Greetery has released! It was designed for the winter season, but with just a few color changes it can work for any time of the year.

I stamped the large cluster along the side and edge of a piece of watercolor paper in colors perfect for springtime. The leaves are stamped in bright yellow-green tones, I added the larger flowers in yellow, the smaller flowers in pink, and added a pretty golden brown color for the flower centers.

I couldn’t resist adding just a few splatters of a light tan ink and then added some stitching with my sewing machine across the top.The sentiment is die cut with the “thinking” word from the new Sentiment Starter dies. (These dies have been delayed just a bit from our manufacturer, but click the “notify me” button so you will get an email when we get them in stock. They will be worth the wait, I assure you!) I die cut the word three times from kraft cardstock and adhered the layers together so that the word send out a bit more on the card. The “of you” part of the sentiment is from the Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You stamp set. I cut the stamp I wanted to use apart to stamp jus those two words from the original “thinking of you sentiment”. If you don’t want to cut your stamp apart, you can use selective inking to stamp that part of the sentiment.

I added the stamped panel to a kraft card base along with a few sequins that I sprinkled around the sentiment for a bit of sparkle. I used the striped Flappable stencil to create coordinating envelopes and even I stenciled stripes onto some cream cardstock and cut strips that I tucked under the bottom edge of the stamped panel on the card.These cards are ready to pop into the mail to bring a little springtime to someone’s mailbox!

TGIF – Postal Valentine Treats with Lizzie + Save the Date!

As if Fridays aren’t sweet enough, Lizzie is here for this week’s TGIF post with a super sweet Valentine project!

“Valentine’s Day is coming in hot (next weekend already!) and I, for one, needed a few quick and easy treats to share with the people in my life. So after a bit of experimenting I came up with these sweet little packages and I thought it might be fun to share them with you!

The Postal Frames dies are the perfect size for pairing with the Candy Pops Collection. I used the rectangles on today’s projects, but the circular ones would be cute, too! A combo of greetings from the Candy Pops Sentiments and Sentiment Suite Love were just right for building a sweet message.

One of my favorite things about creating seasonal items is digging around in my collection of stamps, dies, and stencils to see what might be useful despite being “off season.” For example, the Pine Boughs stamp set might not immediately jump out at you as a Valentine’s Day set, but those pretty posies turned out to be absolutely lovely stamped in softer pinks and greens.

And you don’t have to get super complicated with your patterns either. A simple repeating pattern like the one using the Signed & Sealed With A Kiss heart is fun and quick to stamp. Of course, I am also of the belief that you should never underestimate a good background, so the Windowpane Plaid paired with a few images from Pretty Postmarks gives a charming collage-style feel without a lot of fuss.

The 1/4″ Rectangle Bubbles were just the right depth for a single serving of the candy I chose, but you could certainly use the 1/2″ Bubbles for thicker treats or a slightly more indulgent experience. I don’t think you can go wrong either way!

What a cute project from Lizzie! I’ve been thinking about how cute the Candy Pops collection would be for Valentine’s Day and it’s been on my to-do list. Now Lizzie really has me in the mood to find the time to put together a few cute treats.

TGIF – Winter Garden Terrarium with Wanda

It’s TGIF time! Are you ready for the weekend? Do you have crafting plans? It’s cold and dreary here and I plan to sneak in some crafting time this weekend. Wanda is here for today’s TGIF with a project that’s so fresh and wintery, it’s making me think maybe winter’s not so bad after all if it inspires these kinds of beautiful things. Let’s read on to learn more about her pretty project…

Hello Greetery Friends! Happy New Year! I’m so looking forward to a new year of fun and creativity! Today I’m sharing a pretty thank you card and I’m calling it – Winter Garden. This time of year I always need thank you cards. For Christmas presents, for parties I was invited to, for business associates. So I like to stretch my Christmas stamps and dies in new ways to carry on into Winter months by making thank yous. I thought it might be pretty to use the beautiful Pine Bough Botanicuts Dies together with the innovative and pretty Terrarium Die and create a Winter Garden.

I used shades of Winter for this project: Icy blue, sparkling bright white, warm brown and all shades of green. I really love to combine textures on my cards and that’s what I did here. Vellum for the sentiment, watercolor paper for the leaves and metallic paper for the terrarium. Twine and enamel dots as accents add even more texture.

I die cut the pine leaves from watercolor paper and used small sponge daubers and Distress Inks to add shades of greens. Once the ink was dry, I splattered lots of white paint to look like snow. The background of the terrarium was also ink blended with Distress Ink.

I used the little tag from the Sentiment Suites Basics to add a design element to the top of the card. The words are from the Christmas Caravan stamp set. I used Stazon Ink to stamp the gorgeous thank you sentiment from Pine Blossom onto a strip of vellum.

All Make & Tell Tuesdays

Make & Tell – Oopsie Daisy Bouquets + Colored Pencil Shading

Is your work table still covered in holiday goodies? I’m not sure I’m ready to put away all of the Christmas and winter stamps and dies, but I know that I am ready for a little spring!

For today’s Make & Tell video, I’ll be giving some wintery items from our November collection a fresh spring look by combining them with the Oopsie Daisy set.

I used one of my current favorite techniques – using colored pencils to add shading to stamped images. It’s like half the work of coloring is done before you even start! Plus the solid stamped images, especially those that have some layers like the Oopsie Daisies, usually have some shading already built in that you can just enhance a little further using the colored pencils.

I had some bits and pieces left after making the video, so I created this second card as well. Which one is your favorite – the blue or the pink? I love the big blue daisy on this one and the fuller bouquet. 🙂

TGIF – Cozy Cup Thank Yous by Dawn

You’re in for a treat once again with today’s TGIF projects! Dawn is sharing some gorgeous wintery thank yous using our Cozy Cup set paired with lots of florals from our recent releases. They’re done in Dawn’s classic vibrant colors – just the thing to warm up these dreary winter days. Let’s read on and see what Dawn has to say about today’s projects…

So, this time of year, I always like to make a stack of thank you notes to send out after Christmas, and I love to have them feel a bit holiday-ish or at least a bit wintery. I still had quite a big pile of leftover Christmas floral die cuts from previous card making sessions, so they were perfect to use on my post-Christmas thank you notes.

I wanted to make a cohesive set of cards though, and my die cuts weren’t all totally coordinated. To tie all of my random leftovers together, I stamped a new pile of common denominators! I stamped several coffee cups in coordinating colors, and those helped to tie in the randomness from the florals, and make it all look like it goes together!!

I further unified the card set, by using the same color card base, same dark green die cut mats and similar white frames on each card.

Now you’d never know all of these pieces started out as a random pile! They look like they were made to go together! Such a fun way to use up some after Christmas leftovers!”

Don’t you just love Dawn’s cheery projects today? I can’t stop looking at all of the details, and of course her photography and vintage touches are so inspiring!

Before I close today’s post, I have just a couple of updates. We did a large die restock earlier this week, so if you’ve been waiting on dies, most of them are now in stock. We’re still having some issues with our Back in Stock email notifications, unfortunately. They are going out, but at a snail’s pace I’m afraid. We will be switching to a different service provider once these have been completed that will hopefully fix the issue and we’ll be back to real-time updates.

You may also notice if you’re looking to purchase the Cozy Cup set Dawn used in today’s post, that it is out of stock. We’re expecting that back next week, along with a few other sets that are out of stock, so it won’t be a long wait.

TGIF – Frozen Inspiration from Kelly

Happy Friday! Ready to get crafty this weekend? Kelly’s here to provide a little TGIF inspiration. I loved reading about her inspiration for the projects she’s sharing today. Inspiration is everywhere!

Hello Friends, it’s Kelly here! I’m thrilled to be here today sharing two cards for this week’s TGIF feature! My family went to see Frozen II this weekend (with the rest of America) and I just loved it! It was a visual treat and while yes, I was watching the movie, I was also designing cards in my head at the same time! Ha ha! These two cards are directly inspired by Elsa and one of her outfits in particular.

I knew that the Nordic Frames paired with some of my favorites from the new release as well as the Frosty Flakes Stencil from the previous release would be the perfect combination to recreate the look and feel of her beautiful dresses. I used a combination of silver embossing and Moonstone Glimmer paste with the stencils to give these cards that icy feeling that I was hoping to achieve! I added some coarse Crystal glitter as well, even sprinkling it over the Nuvo Drops to give them a frozen appearance! By switching up the colors in the Pine Blossom cluster, It really gives the bouquet a completely different feeling than what I used during the release! I love when a stamp set is versatile like that so I can get extra mileage from it all season long! I decided to use the Flappable Stecils to create some coordinating envelopes to complete the presentation!

I can’t wait to use these in the depths of winter when some may have lost their hope for spring. I personally try to embrace the beauty of every season, and these cards hopefully will do the same when they make their appearance in someone’s mailbox to brighten their day!
