Sunny Scripture Card with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! I have one of my usuals today….a clean and simple card! So many of the amazing images, from The Greetery, lend so well to a simple card. I love being able to find a sentiment or even an image that speaks to me and highlight it with a bright white background.

Today’s card was inspired by the set, Strength for Today. I love the verses included in this set and at the beginning of a new year, I want to send some cards that feel like a sweet little hug in the mail.

To create today’s card, I first stamped the greenery elements from Sweetest Corners in green ink and the bigger bloom images in yellow. I added the blooms in a circle in the center of the white card base. I used a large blending brush to blend in a little of that yellow ink in a circular motion just to add in a little more color. After stamping the verse from Strength for Today on the corner of the Postal Frames Die cut, I cut it out just to fit the bottom corner of the card. I stamped and die cut a pen from the Inked Well stamp set, cut it with the coordinating die, and added it to the card front to finish off the card.

You know I love clean and simple with lots of white space but I always love to share a few tips for adding in more detail:

Use larger bloom images. The Greetery has an amazing selection of beautiful flowers!
Add a background stamp or even a few more layers of cardstock.
Use a texture die like the Pierced Plaid Plate, Woven Cane Background or Aida Cloth Texture plate for an embossed background.
A multicolored background stencil would look amazing!

Candy Pops Holiday with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! Stopping in today with a fun, bright and easy Holiday card. I love going back and finding old favorites and pairing them with new products. I have all my Greetery Christmas in one bin, so I went and flipped through and found 4 sets, laid them out with the sentiments and tags from the Christmas Gallerie Collection and then got to work! I decided quickly that I needed to use the Candy Pops Dies combined with the Bigger Holiday Botanicals: Holly 2 and Little Linked Labels.

For the color combo, I chose a bright Poppy Red mixed with a bright Pink and green. To create this card, I first stamped the holly detail from Capsule Collection Holiday borders around the card base to create a frame. Next, I added the white Candy Pop with the pink and red accents to the card base with foam tape for dimension. I cut out the Holly and added 2 layers of berries…one glued directly to the holly and the 2nd layered with foam dots. The holly was decorated with Red Stickles and Glossy Accents for a little shine. To finish the card off, I added the sentiment and tag from Little Linked Labels stamp set and die, with some heat embossing on the red tag.

My challenge for you is to go back into your past Christmas Stash and see what you can pair with your new goodies that just came in the mail! One of my favorite things about The Greetery is how well everything goes together, older and loved along with the new!

Wrapped in Love with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! I am so much in the holiday mood…yep I am one of those people who put my tree up on November 1st!! Christmas is a season and thanksgiving is a day right in the middle of that season, in my book! 🙂 So Christmas cards it is! I started today’s card by wondering my way through TheGreetery.com and looking back at older sets that I have LOVED. I found Wrapped in Love and immediately needed a quick and simple card using all the adorable details included in the set.

Using a white card base, I stamped a simple sentiment from the set. Next, I diecut elements using the Wrapped in Love die. I stamped the large roll of paper with red strips on the outside and added the white ink stamped grid on the inside. I felt like we needed some golden scissors for the occasion so I pulled out some muted gold cardstock and added those to the card front. To match, we needed a golden tape dispenser too, so I added that in some vellum for the tape die cut. I kept it simple with just a couple colors and added in the presents, the twine and then the little candies from the Mint and Berry Bits. This is definitely a card that can be easily mass produced for Christmas!

Autumn Herbarium with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! The August release, Hint of Autumn, has my new favorite set, Autumn Herbarium. The leaves, and the ease of making them, makes me so happy! I do love quick and simple! The red rubber stamp, stamps out all the stems and veins. The stencils included make the coloring process so easy. Ink blending up all the different fall colors is a lot of fun! You can use the full panel for a card background or you can cut them out individually with the Autumn Herbarium die.

Today’s quick and simple card was made using a full panel of the leaves along with a white card base, stamped with a sentiment from Capsule Cameos: Autumn Stamp Set, in the bottom corner. After die cutting out the leaves, I placed the negative on the white card and then used foam squares to pop up each of the leaves in their original spot. Such a fun and easy card that was so quick to make!

Fresh Floral Birthday Card with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! I was inspired to pull out one of The Greetery’s fabulous Print Shop sets (Print Shop Fresh Floral) to create today’s card. I just love the ease of making beautiful floral backgrounds even for a quick and simple card. (Just a reminder that this Print Shop set is a Last Call item, meaning that it has limited stock available and will not be restocked once it’s gone!)

After ink blending up the blooms in the Print Shop: Fresh Floral Stamp and Stencil Set on a white cardstock base, I grabbed the Postal Frames dies for the next step. I wanted that little dot frame detail by itself so I cut off the postage edge. I stamped the wavy frame from the Sweetest Frames set in a pale blue ink, inside the dotted frame. Using the Put a Bow On It Stamp Set, I added a sentiment. With an alcohol marker, I added a little extra detail in the bow to give it more depth. Such a fun way to add a sentiment to a card! For a little bling, I popped on a couple gold pearls to finish the card.

Quick and Easy Daisy Cards with Laurie

Hello crafty friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! Welcome to the clean and simple side of The Greetery! I have a card base idea to share today that will help make your cards easy to put together on a moment’s notice. Sometimes something pops up and we need a quick card. With not a lot of time, this little bit of preplanning can help you in a pinch!

The Greetery has a pack of card stock blanks called Print Shop: Daisy Days Fill in the Blank Paper. This paper pack coordinates with the Print Shop: Daisy Days Stamp and Stencil and the die set. BUT, the color combo of this paper pack and the main image in its blank state, has always been a favorite pattern of mine. I decided to take one of each color and cut them down to make a quick design for a card front.

To cut down to the size I have on each white card base, here is what I did. From the top and bottom, I cut 1⁄8″ off and from the long sides, I cut 1⁄4” off each side. From the panel left, I cut it into 3, 1 1⁄4” strips. I laid them down with adhesive and centered them to create a fun little blank pack of cards. Now, whenever I need a quick and easy card, all I have to do is add a sentiment!

I grabbed the pink card and the Bold Alphabet die to make this super easy card! After cutting “hello” in white cardstock, I made another set out of fun foam. I glued the fun foam hello to the back of the cardstock hello to make the perfect dimensional sentiment. It was so quick to add to the already decorated card base! I added a tiny little wooden heart that I found in my stash to finish off the card.

You can create a premade card stash with any patterned paper you might have, a background stamp, or even a stencil. Sometimes its fun just to create the base and not worry about the sentiment until you need it!

Strawberry Hugs with Laurie

Hello crafty friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! Welcome to the clean and simple side of The Greetery! I have a card to share today that was SO fun to make, with a bold pop of color and an easy sentiment.

I am so in the mood for summer which makes me think of growing all the things in the garden, including yummy strawberries! I had to pull out the BontaniCuts Strawberries die for the occasion.

To create this card, I die cut all the pieces in the Botanicuts Strawberry Die Set. Using a white card base, I layered on a Postal Frames panel, also in white card stock. Adding in the sentiment from Arched Sentiments, kept this clean and simple card very clean. I love how this works for several occasions! To finish the card, I layered on the berries inside the arched sentiment and one little one, off to the side. I added in a bow too, from The Sweetest Frames Die Set, just for some extra color!

There are lots of ways to add more detail!

Add in a background stamp or stencil.
Use coordinating patterned paper to add in color to match your focal point. You can add many of The Greetery Florals here instead of strawberries!
Add in a few more strawberries around the card front.

Spring Violet Birthday with Laurie

Hello crafty friends! It’s Laurie Willison here! Welcome to the quick and simple side of The Greetery! I have a card to share today that was SO easy to make, quick and so much fun!

Birthday cards are the ones I make the most of and one of my go to stamp and die sets is All Kinds of Happy! I love the stamped images and the coordinating dies and, of course, this set works for many occasions.

To make this card, I used a white card base and a white card front. I stamped up the cute little blooms from Birth Month Blooms Q1 Stamp Set. All the flowers in this set work perfectly for the calendar sets, but also work well for any occasion. Using the All Kinds of Happy Die, I layered white cardstock and white foam for the perfect dimensional sentiment. I added that to the card with liquid adhesive. To finish off the card, I stamped “birthday” in a coordinating purple ink.

There are lots of ways to add more detail!

Add in a background stamp or stencil.
Cut your top panel with the Crimped Frame Die or the Postal Frame Die to give a decorative edge to your card.
Add in more floral images along the bottom or around the card base for a card base with lots more color and detail.
You can never go wrong with a bow or some twine detail!

Bitty Botanicals & Embossed Ribbons with Laurie

I have a quick and simple card to share today. I absolutely LOVE the new Bitty Botanicals that was released last month. I had to pair it with the Diamond Ribbon Die for a little embossing. The ribbon die makes the most adorable quilted look if you use it like an embossing plate!

First, I inked up the red rubber from the Bitty Botanicals set with green ink and then followed it up with the stencil. I added ink with a heavy hand to give a bold look to all the little flowers. Next up, I put the embossing pad to work in my die cut machine and dry embossed the Diamond Ribbon die right over top of the flowers. They fit perfectly!

To finish off the card, I used the All Kinds of Happy Dies and Shadow dies with a layer of velum and gold cardstock. I added the “Birthday” by stamping with the All Kinds of Happy stamp set and heat embossing a Tear Strip Banners. This card was so simple to make!

Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter with Laurie

Stopping in with a super simple Easter card using a set that I absolutely love….Bunny Hop Stamp and Stencil Set. The stamp and stencil work so well together to create an adorable wreath. You can change up your color combo or even just use the bunnies by themselves to create a different look. So many possibilities with just one set! I kept it simple, of course, by making a mostly one layer card using bright colors, just in time for Easter!

First up, I used the large stamp included in the set to stamp out the greenery. Next, I stenciled in the bunnies around the edges, the carrots and the tulips. I added in the sentiment in the center of the wreath in black ink. To add in some balance for the black ink, I added in black dots inside each of the little yellow tulips.

After cutting the main panel down, I added it to a coral card base with some foam tape just to add that one layer of dimension. To finish the card off, I added in some clear drops to the front for a little bling.
