Happy Tuesday, and surprise! Going forward, we’ll be sharing more team projects here on the blog. In addition to our weekly TGIF Friday posts, we’ll be sharing projects sporadically on other days as well. More of the inspiration you love from the team!
Angelica is here today with a gorgeous spring project using some products from our latest New Beginnings collection…
When I lived in Alabama, There was a mama bird that would show up and have her babies in a nest tucked away under our carport. It was the sweetest thing to watch and hear. Their nest was in our large ladder hanging on the wall, so we ended up buying another ladder so we didn’t disturb their home. When I saw Jumbo Curiosity Nest die, I immediately thought of that mama bird, and was looking forward to making my own nest.
I die-cut white cardstock with the Nest die, and colored the die cuts with Distress Oxide inks. FOr the nest, I used Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. The eggs were colored with Aged Patina and Speckled Egg, and the leaves with Mowed Grass. I glued the leaves onto the nest, and attached the top part of the nest to the base with a few thin foam strips. I finished by adding the eggs with thin foam squares.
I picked Salt Water Taffy cardstock to use for the background, and stamped it with Spring Meadow Background stamp, using Sprinkles ink. I die-cut the panel with the large Crimped Frame Die, and prepped it for some white heat-embossing. I picked a word from Rejoice stamp set to heat-emboss. once done, I attached the panel to a card base, and added the nest. I finished the card with a hot-foiled Rejoice, die-cut with the coordinating die.
This is such a simple card, with so much meaning behind it. It’s the small things in life that get overlooked the most. I will always remember the morning chirping of mamma and her babies, and I will always appreciate the joy they brought to my family.
