Holiday Hatchback and Holiday Hatchback Accessories
Many of you that have followed things here at The Greetery know about my holiday tradition of always having something special to hold treats on our Christmas Eve table. This year we have an adorable 3D hatchback car. The main die includes everything you need to put together this cute car. The Accessories die includes optional woodgrain panels that can be added to the sides of the car as well as a “taxi cab” style rooftop sign. I have a how-to video in the works that I’ll be sharing as soon as I get it edited! (this post has been updated to include the video, linked a little lower in this post)

Holiday Hatchback Toppers – Luggage, Tree, Skis
We have some add-on dies to create things that can be placed on top of the car. There’s a set of luggage, a tree, and skis.

Cheer Mobile
Our last product suite to introduce is an adorable hatchback car in stamp form. This set has so many cute details! There are various objects that can be added to the car – a stack of gifts, a tree, a taxi-cab style sign, and skis. There is a matching die to cut out the car and all of the accessories. We’re also offering a separate die for the sentiments.

Are you ready to see these products in action? I had so much fun creating. Little treats and boxes and 3D holiday items are some of my very favorite things to create (I have some fun cards to share, too!)! I have a how-to video for the 3D items in the works and I’ll be sharing it as soon as I am able to get it edited!
*Edited to add the video below!
First off is an entire fleet of the Holiday Hatchback cars with their various cargo. These were oh so fun to make!! I can’t wait to use these on our Christmas table.
Let’s talk about some of the details…
First off, the hatchback can be left open (unglued) so the car can be filled with treats. It’s fairly roomy – here you can see it with some Lindor Chocolates. I fit two of the truffles in the car. If you’re using smaller candies you’ll be able to fit a good amount (the truffles are too big to go up into the nose of the car, so it was limited to the “body” of the car, where two fit nicely).
The luggage set might be my favorite accessory.
- Punch some holes in the top of the car so you could run a string through to tie the cargo to the top. Trust me, you’ll want to make it easier on yourself by doing this before the car is assembled (both punching the holes and threading the string through the holes). 🙂
- Tuck in some Juniper sprigs and add some fluffy white snow by applying some liquid glue to the areas you’ll like to have the snow (rooftop, hood, etc)
- The small sentiments included in the Cheer Mobile set that are designed to fit on the taxi-cab style sign from that set also work with the sign from the Holiday Hatchback Accessories. Here I used the cute “cheer mobile” sentiment (shout out to my daughter for that cute sentiment and set name!).
- The little peppermints from our Mint & Berry Bits make adorable hubcaps!
- Add some “reflections” to the windows by drawing some simple lines with a metallic pen or pencil
This next car uses the Tree Topper and Skis.
- To make a 3D tree, diecut three of the Topper Trees. Score them down the center and fold them in half, adhering the three trees back-to-back.
- The skis can be added to the top of the car, or adhered to look like they’re leaning against the car. Cute either way!
- Make your cars feel more vintage by grunging them up a bit with ink sponging and splatters. You might even want to add some “rust” using orange/brown ink or even some embossing powder like Erin showed us in this video.
This one might be my favorite car. I love the stack of presents (made with the Luggage die!)
- The Luggage die can also double as presents. Our Gifts Galore die is filled with tiny bows that are perfect for embellishing them!
- Add a cute bow and greenery to the hood of the car for a fun and festive touch
- The small “berries” from our Mint & Berry Bits also make cute hubcaps.
Next I have a super fun use for the Holiday Hatchback Luggage die. I showed on the car above that they can also double as little presents. I had fun putting a bunch of them together and thought they would make adorable tags.
- Our Speed Tagging stamp and matching die made quick work of these tag bases.
- Our Gifts Galore die is perfect for adding all of the little bows and ribbons to the boxes.
- The sentiments used here are from the new Wrapped in Love Sentiment Additions stamp set
- The Mint & Berry Bits are fun for adding to the centers of the little bows.
- A small boxed set of these tags would make a fun gift!
Next I have a few cards using the new Cheer Mobile stamp set and matching die/sentiment die.
For this first one I combined that cute Cheer Mobile car with the fun So Very Merry sentiment. I’m kind of obsessed with the negative of the Very Merry sentiment.
- The Cheer Mobile car includes an optional hatchback piece that you can choose to stamp or leave off. I added it here so I could fill up the back with presents!
- The stack of presents from the Cheer Mobile set can go on top of the car, or inside the hatchback like I did here.
- Adding the arch around the outer edge of my card helped to frame all of the elements and make them pop. I used the largest arch from the A2 Arches set.
- The little sprigs from the Cheer Mobile set are great for tucking around the sentiment.
- I added a strip of gray kraft cardstock under my car to ground it. Using a Copic marker to add a shadow under the car helps to really make it look even more dimensional.
- White ink splatters are the quickest, easiest way to make it snow!
This next one combines the Cheer Mobile car with a background done with the Christmas Sampler stencil.
- You can omit parts of the stenciled Christmas Sampler design to customize it. Here I omitted the house and the ornaments. Just place a bit of tape over the areas you don’t want to stencil. You could also use just the bottom or top borders.
- Give the stenciled background some dimension by stenciling with texture paste. I used it here for the “snowflakes” and also some of the details in the fair isle strip along the bottom.
- Add some dots with a white pen to add even more detail to the stenciled design.
Next, a more traditional take on the Cheer Mobile set by using it to creating a scene…
- The Holiday Hatchback Toppers: Tree can also be used on cards.
- Our Drifting die makes great snowdrifts or hills
- Wrap some twine around the tree for a fun detail and added texture
Last, but not least, a cute tag made with the Cheer Mobile set.
- My favorite technique for creating tags is to diecut “on the fold”. Fold a piece of cardstock and position the car die so that the top edge that cuts the roof extends above the fold and doesn’t cut when you run it through your machine. You can make anything into a shaped tag using this technique (as long as it isn’t too intricate since you’re cutting through two layers).
- Pile multiple accessories from the Cheer Mobile set on top for more cuteness.
- Add a string by looping it around the fold of the tag so you can tie it to your gift.
