Hello there! It’s Dawn here and for this month’s TGIF project, I thought it would be fun to create some cards that are dressed up just like I wrap our gifts for Christmas! There’s always a fun wrapping paper topped with some sort of big bow. Under the bow, I always like to include some floral or greenery picks whether faux or even the die cut version, and then of course, the gift is finished off with a tag!
PRO TIP: You could, of course, do these in a million different “wrapping paper” and bow/greenery combinations. But how fun would it be, to really make them look like your actual gifts?! Same wrapping paper for your base, (you could use actual wrapping paper on your card or you could stamp your gift to look like your card), same color bow as your real gifts, and then use the same die cut greenery on your card AND gift!
I also really wanted to go with a pink and red theme, so I used a pink “wrapping paper” stamped with the snowflake from Four Square Holiday Tags. I die cut the Big Beautiful Bow from a deep red card stock, as well as a red glitter card stock and then layered them up.
PRO TIP: The best way to make this big bow die cut really SING is to use two different shades of your chosen color card stock. That way, it really looks 3-dimensional when you assemble all the layers. Also, I’m not sure if there’s an easier bow out there to assemble! I love this one! So easy to make!
I added some die cut greens using three Big Branches dies — ruscus, eucalyptus and pine. The tag die is also included with the bow set, and I stamped a sentiment from Sentiment Suite Christmas.
This second card includes all the same elements except I chose one of the mistletoe images to stamp for my wrapping paper, from Four Square Holiday Tags.
Hope this has got your creative wheels turning for some fun gift-inspired cards you can make!
Have a great day!
Dawn
