Heather is here for this week’s TGIF with a gorgeous autumn card. I love how she created her textured tone-on-tone background with diecuts! She used the BotaniCuts Mighty Oak die, which was just perfect for this technique. We are actually expecting our restock order of this die to land here today, so keep an eye out for that if you’ve been waiting for to come back in stock! 😊
Here’s Heather with more on her project…
I look forward to the autumn season and everything that comes with that every year. I am ready for cooler temperatures and watching the leaves change color. I look forward to visits to the apple orchard and picking out pumpkins to sit on our front porch. The BotaniCuts Mighty Oak die collection is perfect for bringing autumn into my craft studio and I love all of the textures and detail in the leaves and acorns.

The first time I created with this die collection, I cut out the pieces from watercolor paper that I had painted in various autumnal colors. This time, I took a cue from all of the details in the die cuts and cut out the leaves, veins, and acorns from one color of cardstock. I used Kraft cardstock for my project, but you could recreate this with your favorite autumn colors or even just use white cardstock.
I arranged the leaves and acorns onto a piece of Kraft cardstock to create a textural, tone on tone background. The “blessings” sentiment is from the Blessed Blooms stamp set and cut to with the coordinating die. I tucked a few colorful oak leaves and an acorn under the sentiment that I had left over from a past project. This card would be beautiful for a Thanksgiving dinner invitation or just to send a bit of autumn in the mail to a loved one.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!
