Patchwork Die
Have fun mixing and matching prints and patterns to create patchwork designs using the new Patchwork Die. It works wonderfully with the Print Shop: Calico set as well as previously released backgrounds, stencils, or patterned papers from your stash! The design of the die allows you to use it as a full panel cut from a single paper or cardstock, or snip it apart to create pieced designs.

I’m so excited to share lots of projects with you today! Fall crafting is second only to Christmas crafting in my opinion, so I loved creating with this release. First up I have a few projects using Warm & Wonderful. This set has elements for fall as well as Christmas, so I got to create for both of my favs using this set!
First up is a fall project using the pumpkin spice sentiment from the set. I stamped the drink in warm latte hues and added fall accents – a couple of tiny stamped cinnamon sticks wrapped with twine, some berries, and a few leaves. I added some candy crumbles to my whipped topping for an added touch of realism.
I layered my stamped elements (which were diecut with the Warm & Wonderful die) over a Patchwork diecut – the bottom section of which was layered with a strip of Print Shop: Calico done in autumn hues.
My next Warm & Wonderful card has more of a winter/holiday vibe. I stamped three of those cute cups filled with assorted drinks. You can change up your drinks just by changing your ink colors. I added lots of garnishes from the Warm & Wonderful set – berries, leafy sprigs, dried orange slices and more.
I stacked my mugs and garnishes on a Nordic Slimline panel, which was cut from watercolor paper and watercolored and splattered with some subtle neutral hues, just to add a bit of interest to the background. Love how this turned out – and it was so fun to make!
The Warm & Wonderful set is great for tags and gift card wraps as well! Here I diecut the mugs “on the fold” (positioning the die so that the top of the mug did not cut and my folded paper stayed intact), creating these shaped tags that open to reveal a place to write to/from. The to/from sentiments I used here are from our Tag Team Duo Labels set.
You can create a gift card “slider” by tucking a gift card between the folded layers, then just adhere the bottom of the mug closed so that the gift card can slide in and out. The “cheers” sentiment is from the Warm & Wonderful set, while the “for you” is from the Market Basket Sentiments set. What a fun way to give coffee gift cards to teachers, co-workers, or anyone else on your list.
Up next I have a couple of projects using the new BotaniCuts Apple die. I wanted this set to have lots of versatility, so the apples can be used individually and tucked in the Bushel Basket die (or however else you’d like to use them!) or combined with the branch and blooms included in the die set. I have a couple of cards showing both of these ideas.
First off, the apples paired with our new Bushel Basket die. I sponged my apples with shades of yellow and red, and filled up my basket. I also tucked in several leaves from the set. The label included with the Bushel Basket die is sized just right to coordinate with our previously released Market Basket Sentiments stamp set. I stamped the “hello” from that set onto my label.
Behind my basket is a Patchwork panel that was stamped and stenciled with the Print Shop: Calico set. I love the bright blue with the bright red and yellow apples. So crisp and bright like a fall morning! I created a place for my basket to set by adding a couple of Shiplap Builder planks.
I loved the bright blue, yellow, and red combo so much that I used it again on my next card. This time I created branches full of bright, colorful apples. Is there anything more fun than inking up these bright apples? I love blending the ink colors, adding some unripened spots and splatters for a realistic look.
For my background, I started with a panel of watercolor paper. I often get questions about this paper when I use it – it’s Master’s Touch brand from Hobby Lobby. I love the texture of it. I blended some Salty Ocean Oxide ink onto my panel and spritzed it with water and added some splatters to give it lots of interest. I layered my branches and apples. I also added lots of leaves from the set, filling in all around the sentiment, which was done with our Let’s Have a Word: Autumn die. The “hello” is from the Fall Foliage set. I also added the blossoms from the BotaniCuts Apple set. I know there aren’t any blossoms in the fall when the apples are ripe, but I love flowers and adding them gave my scene even more interest. That’s one of the fun things about crafting – we can create whatever we want! 😉
Our new Bushel Basket die is great for pairing with the apples, but you can fill it with lots of other things as well! How about some pretty blooms? Here I created some gift card sliders using the Bushel Basket filled with flowers. The flowers here were done withe the smaller bloom from our BotaniCuts Sunflower die (the pink blooms) and our Daisy Days die (the yellow blooms). The leaves were cut with the BotaniCuts Apple die.
To create these baskets, I diecut two of all of the basket pieces (for each basket – so a total of four to create both of these). Then I assembled them and adhered them back to back, just along the sides, making sure to leave the slit at the top of the basket free so that I could insert a gift card as well as a small Crimped Frame diecut. The smallest Crimped Frame is the same size as a gift card, making it perfect for this project. I slipped the diecut frame inside my basket, then adhered my blooms to it and also stamped a sentiment. The sentiments on the labels on the baskets are again from the Market Basket Sentiments set. The “for all you do” sentiment I stamped on the pull-out is from a set we’ll be introducing tomorrow.
Next I have several projects using the Autumn Bliss and Jumbo Curiosity Buckeye Leaf we’re introducing today.
For this first card, I used several of the small leaves from the Autumn Bliss set and arranged them around our Scripty Hello die. For the background, I created a patchwork using our new Patchwork die. I cut several different panels…some were done with our new Print Shop: Calico set, one was stenciled with our Knit Wits stencil, and one was stamped with our Fond of Foliage Background. I just wanted a fun mix of different patterns in fall hues. I snipped them apart and created this fun patchwork. When doing this, you’ll end up with enough pieces to make as many pieced backgrounds as the number of Patchwork panels you start with.
My next card uses the pretty sentiment from the Autumn Bliss set. I heat embossed it in gold onto a panel of rustic white cardstock. To create the arched frame, I used our A2 Arches die. Here’s a fun tip – you can create “infinite” arches (arches that extend all the way down your card panel) by diecutting the arch once (with the top of the arch positioned wherever you’d like it to be on your card front), then shift your arch die down and diecut it again, extending the length of the arch. Here I made it so it extended all the way to the bottom of my card front. I used this same diecutting technique to cut both the brown inner arch, and a cream panel to layer over the top (using an arch from the A2 Arches set that was one step larger for the cream layer).
I tucked lots of leaves from the Autumn Bliss set in and around my arches. I also added some small blooms – the purple blooms were cut with the BotaniCuts Wildflower die, and the white are from the BotaniCuts Apple set.
My next card combines the sweet little leaves from the Autumn Bliss set with the Jumbo Curiosity Buckeye Leaf die. I love this jumbo version of the buckeye leaf that was originally included in our Curio: Autumn Findings set. It’s so fun to ink and splatter in all the gorgeous shades of fall! Here I went with an unconventional color scheme of pinks and reds.
For the background, I used our new Patchwork die. I diecut two – one to snip apart, and one to leave intact to use as a base. As I snipped the one panel apart, I sponged each piece with ink, starting in the upper left corner with a deep red, and working my way down the panel with progressively lighter colors. This was fun to do and can be done in any color. The sentiment I used here is from a set we’ll be showcasing tomorrow.
My final card of the day uses that beautiful sentiment from the Autumn Bliss set paired with that big and beautiful Buckeye Leaf. I stamped that pretty sentiment onto a strip of vellum and heat embossed it with gold.
I layered several Buckeye Leaf diecuts onto a dark card base, letting some of the leaves overlap the vellum strip. To add some lightness and interest, I added a few blooms which were cut with the Botanicuts Apple die, and also a few leaf sequins from our new Leaf Bits mix.
I hope you enjoyed taking a look at today’s projects as much as I enjoyed creating them!
Now that you’ve gotten to meet all of today’s new products and see them in action, you can “greet” them for a chance to win a prize! We’ll be giving away TWO $50 gift cards for today’s blog hop.
