Hi crafty friends! I’m excited to be here with you today on TGIF on The Greetery Blog! It’s always fun to share a project with you. I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. It’s time to finish up our Christmas crafting and creating. So today I have a suite of projects with a jolly, merry, holiday theme: A card, a gift card holder, and some pretty tags. I used the same stamps and dies for all the items so it all matches and would be perfect for giving a gift to a special friend.
I started by choosing a bright and happy color palette of mid tone colors: Greens, pinks and aqua….then I used some vellum and silver too. It’s all icy and sparkly. I used the tree die from Christmas Time in the City to die cut out about 20 of those fabulous trees. I used the dies from the Snowflake Soiree suite to die cut silver snowflakes. I die cut tags using the new Tag Team Duo Dies. I laid out all the designs first and mixed and matched elements until I liked it. I splattered everything with white paint (snow!)
For the card I attached the trees using foam tape and then I die cut the sentiment in black. The card is an A2 card layered with aqua, white and vellum. SO fresh! For the tags, I did the same thing – mixed and matched. I added ribbon and embellishments to the tops of the tags. The “merry and bright” sentiment is from the Speed Tagging Christmas stamp set. The gift card holder was made from vellum and a Starbucks card fits just right inside. The Nordic Circles dies are a great element to mix with a Winter theme.

Let’s dig into some projects – I have a lot to share today!
My first project uses the new Macramé Builder dies along with Bigger Blooms. For the macramé background I started with some natural cream cardstock and the Macramé Openwork base dies. I diecut the different macramé borders from black cardstock and layered them over the top to create the pretty background pattern.

I created a big cluster of flowers using the Bigger Blooms set and arranged them in the upper corner, allowing my background to get lots of exposure. I added a small hello sentiment, stamped and diecut with the Hoop Wreath stamp set that was introduced yesterday.
My next project again uses the Macramé Builder dies to create a background design. For this one I again used the Openwork Base dies and added the borders over the top. I stayed with all white this time for a lacy look. I also stacked multiple layers of the borders to give them added thickness, creating a background with a ton of dimension.

I also added some of the tassels from the Macramé Borders & Tassels set to the bottom edge of my lacy panel. I adhered it over a panel of paper that was watercolored with shades of pink to show through the openwork. For the sentiment I used the new Opposites Attract set and clustered a few blooms from the Hoop Wreath set.
The Macramé Builder dies are great for backgrounds, but they’re also fun to combine with other dies. Here I combined them with the hoops from the Hoop & Fringe die that was introduced yesterday. These were so fun to make!

I clustered three lacy hoops – one large and two small over my card base, which was sponged with some Worn Lipstick ink. I also stamped the “a note to say” sentiment from the Opposites Attract set around the larger hoop, curving it to fit around the edge. I layered the “hello” sentiment from Opposites Attract over the larger hoop. I also added a flower cluster using the Bigger Blooms set.
My next project is a sweet banner-shaped notecard made using the Boho Banner die and the Macramé Builder dies. I created a macramé design directly onto the banner. I added color to the borders layered over the top by sponging them with ink.

The sentiment I used here is again from the Opposites Attract set. I added a couple of fringe diecuts to the bottom of the banner, along with a tassel from the Macramé Borders & Tassels set. Such a fun project!
Next I have several Boho Banner projects! This first one uses the banner to create a holiday card. I used the greenery bough and a couple of blooms from the Hoop Wreath set to embellish the banner, along with a Written in Ribbons sentiment.

I layered my banner over a Crimped Frame diecut and also added a gold brad for the banner “hanger”. I topped it off with a snowflake from the Boho Banner die set.
The banner is a perfect spot to create a pretty scene. Here I pulled out the tree from the Christmas Eve set to create a pretty winter scene.

I did some paper tearing to create the layered snow drifts, then tucked the trees into the drifts. The background of the card was stenciled with the Frosty Flakes stencil. I added a couple of diecut snowflakes, cut with the Boho Banner die,
This next one uses the Boho Banner dies in a totally different way. I love how it turned out! I took all of the small “charms” from the die set and hung them from the branch. I dipped them in gold ink for a bit of shine.

In the background I did a bit of watercoloring and added some gold splatters. I also added the greenery bough from the Hoop Wreath set, and a sentiment from that set as well. A few sequins scattered in the design add a little sparkle. This might be my favorite project of the release!
And we’ll wrap up today’s projects with a couple of cards using the new Simply Wonderful sentiment set. This first one is a pretty holiday card.

I stamped that pretty sentiment in bright red ink, and stacked up a few diecuts to add some thickness. I added some greenery and snowflakes around the sentiment using images from the All Blessings Flow stamp set and snowflakes cut with the Boho Banner die. In the background is some sponged Tumbled Glass ink, and I also added some white ink splatters. Along the bottom edge is a Macramé Borders & Tassels border for a pretty finishing touch.
The Simply Wonderful set is great for so many occasions. Here I paired it with some big, bright blooms, stamped with the Bigger Blooms set.

One fun thing to note about this card is the fringe – I created that by using the Macramé Openwork Base die. I used the straight openwork die and just trimmed off the bottom edge to create fringe.

We have reinstated ordering from all of the international destinations that we shipped to previously before taking a pause with the Covid situation. Hi all. I wanted to pop in with a few things today. First of all, I hope you are all staying well and safe. It’s a crazy world right now and everything feels topsy-turvy. My kids are home from school for the foreseeable future, as I’m sure many of yours are as well, if you still have children at home. We’ll be adjusting to a new normal, that will hopefully be over before we know it. But while we’re in it, I hope we can care for each other and lend support to our neighbors near and far. We’re in this together!
In the meantime, we’ll be making the best of it and hopefully even having a little fun here on the blog. Crafting and being creative can be a wonderful escape and always help to calm my mind and spirit. I know many of you feel the same. So, unless there’s a major change over the next week (things do feel very fluid at the moment) we’ll be carrying on with the countdown and release of our latest collection called Fresh Air.
When I was working on this collection and came up with the name and Fresh Air concept, I had no idea how fitting it might be, and how we might all be longing for some Fresh Air, in more ways than one! Hopefully it can provide a little bright spot in your day. We’ll begin later this week with some sneak peeks, and then three full days of projects and reveals next week before the products go up in the shop on Friday. If anything about this timeline changes, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Before I go, I have a new project that I created last week using Caring Cross. I shared it on Instagram, but I thought I’d share it here, too. I’m afraid it’s only a partial Make & Tell Tuesday, with an emphasis on the Make, and not so much Tell. 🙂 Long story short, some loaned out video equipment did not get returned as expected when classes didn’t resume after spring break because of the shut-downs. I thought I’d go ahead and share this project anyway, sans video.

So I started with a panel of heavy-weight Yupo paper, and created an alcohol ink background using Copic inks and Pinata Metallic Brass ink. Once it was completely dry, I diecut the cross that is just the two pieces, not the solid cross, from the panel. I stamped it with palm branch and heat embossed it with gold powder, and then heat embossed the berries with white powder. I added the Happy Easter embossed sentiment along the bottom to finish it off. Before adding it to a card base, I also diecut the cross pieces from the card base so that my card front would have a cross-shaped window in the front. I’ve had several of you ask what that little two-piece cross die is for, and this is one way you can use that die. I used the leftover pieces cut from the alcohol ink background to create a matching bookmark by layering those pieces over a solid cross diecut, which was also stamped with the palm and heat embossed with gold.

Hey all! I like to try and keep you all in the loop with stock updates, so I thought I’d pop in with an update this evening. We just finished prepping a huge shipment of dies and added them to the shop. You should find most dies back in stock as of right now.
We have a shipment of stamps scheduled to arrive at the end of the week and we’ll get those put up in the shop just as soon as we possibly can!
