Insta-Inspiration: Beautiful Sea Scene Card by Hannah

Good morning! I have something fun for you today! Introducing Insta-Inspiration!

I’ve been seeing so many great things on Instagram that you all have been sharing with us using your new stamps and dies from The Greetery. I thought it would be fun to share some things once in a while here on the blog that really catch my eye.

For our first Insta-Inspiration post we have this gorgeous card by Hannah Schroepfer (@hanlynart on Instagram) using our Sea Scene die and the Katie’s Cuties: Feelin’ Fan-Sea stamps and dies. Isn’t her watercoloring just gorgeous?! I love all the vibrant colors and the splatters finish it off just perfectly. She even shared a process photo with us where you can see the background behind the Sea Scene diecut…it’s beautiful all on its own!

I’ll be sharing these Insta-Inspiration posts here occasionally on the blog…no set schedule, just a fun surprise every once in a while. All June 2019 Release Project Ideas

Fleur Impressions meets Just Mason Around…

I have another new card to share with you this morning, this time combining a few of the new sets from the June release, with an older set from our April release – Fleur Impessions. I love combining different sets, it opens a whole new world of possibilities as our product line-up grows!

I just love how this card turned out, it’s another of my favorites of all of the cards I created using the new June products! I hesitated to share it with you today, as I don’t like to tempt you with products that aren’t currently available, but I thought I’d go ahead and share it as inspiration for those of you that were lucky enough to snag the Just Mason Around set during the release. 🙂 That set went pretty quickly, but it is on re-order and should be back in stock in 3-4 weeks.

A little about this card…the flowers are of course from the Fleur Impressions set, and the greenery is a mix of leaves from Fleur Impressions, with a little eucalyptus from the Simple Things set thrown in as well. The background was done using the outline image from Summer Sketches…I warned you I was addicted to creating backgrounds with that set! 😉 I stamped some in Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink, and then also created the strip along the bottom by heat embossing the images in white, and then sponging over them using the same Fossilized Amber ink. For the jar, I did a bit of masking on the bottom mostly solid layer of the jar image so that it would give the look of a jar being partially filled with water. Then I stamped the other two layers of the jar image like normal, without any masking. I added the stems in the jar just by drawing them in with colored pencils.

Good morning! Does your Monday morning need a little cuteness? 🙂 We’re back again today with another card by Joy Taylor. Here she used the Katie’s Cuties: Feelin’ Fan-Sea set to create this adorable card!

Joy did some no-line watercoloring of the sweet octopus and starfish from the set, and also created a pretty watercolored background that’s the perfect home for these cuties. I especially love how she did the bubbles!

Joy has such a clean, beautiful style, I just couldn’t wait to see what she might create with some of our sets! Her card using Lemon Blossom is so fresh and pretty. I love her soft gray blooms and the embossed corners that add just the perfect finishing touch. It’s the perfect summery thank you card!

Oopsie Daisy Inspiration…

Need a little something to brighten your day? How about a bouquet of colorful daisies? I have another card today that uses the Oopsie Daisy set. When I was creating projects for the release of our June collection, I set up my stamp positioning tool and stamped a whole stack of daisies in tons of different colors! They really brightened up my desk and I wanted to tuck them into all kinds of bouquets. Here I used the string from the set to bundle up a whole bunch of them in shades of orange, yellow, and bright blue. Are there blue daisies? Well, not naturally, but they do dye them that way and they’re so fun!

Notice the subtle stamped pattern along the left edge…once again I pulled out the outline image from Summer Sketches to stamp a quick background. The sentiment is from the Just Mason Around set.

Summer Sketches Inspiration…

I’m just popping in to share a little inspiration with you this morning! I had so much fun creating with our June Collection that I ended up with so many projects I couldn’t even post them all during the countdown! So I’ll be sharing them over the next week or so. Also, good news! All release orders have been shipped and I know several of them have already started finding their homes in your craft rooms – yay! Have FUN creating! 🙂

So today I have a card using the Summer Sketches and Simple Things set. I took bits and pieces of inspiration from this gorgeous card by Wanda Guess, which she shared during the first day of the countdown. Isn’t it just beautiful?! I love her bright watercolored blooms and her pretty striped background. Even the splatters are perfect!

I was inspired by her stripes and added some to the background of my card as well, but instead of watercoloring them, I just masked and sponged ink. I wasn’t even fussy about making them even, I just went for a more random look. My Summer Sketches blooms were not watercolored – I chose to use the solid stamps from the set instead. I also put some eucalyptus from the Simple Things set behind that Summer Sketches bloom, and added some sentiments from Simple Things. This was a different color combo for me, but I love it!

Project Idea: Terrarium Gift Card Holders

It seems like I’m always on the lookout for different ways of presenting gift cards. Today I have a simple idea for you using our Large Terrarium die!

These were simple to put together, and turned out so cute. It helps to start with a gorgeous gift card – I found these when I was picking up a bunch of gift cards at Target the other day and I knew they were just perfect for what I had in mind. (everyone else must like them too – I had to hit up several check-outs to find enough! 🙂 )

I started out with a solid terrarium diecut, and I stamped some blooms from the Fleur Impressions set using ink colors to match the flowers on the gift card. I left an open space in the center of the flowers where I could write a message. The gift card will cover it, making for a really nice presentation.

To attach the gift card, I used a handy little punch I’ve had in my tool collection for years. It’s a slit punch, which I believe is from Stampin’ Up — I got mine years ago, so I have no idea if they still carry it, but it is handy for sure! It punches half-circle tabs, perfect for things like gift cards.

To turn it into a standing card, I simply attached a detailed terrarium diecut by gluing it to the solid one, just by the top ring. Since the Larger Terrarium dies are approximately the size of an A2 card, I simply tucked them into an envelope, and they were ready to mail to some very special people!
