Happy Friday, all! Laurie is here with a super fun (and informative! 😊) TGIF all about hot foiling…enjoy!
Hello friends! It’s Laurie here with today’s TGIF! I am sure by now you have seen the new Deco Triangles Hot Foil Plate. If you are like me….you are in love! Foiling has become something that I love to do. Adding little bits of shine to a card is so much fun and makes them look so finished and fancy!

Using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, I used gold foil and then Deco Triangle Plate to create a super simple background. The plate itself would create the most amazing background by itself, but I used the Deco Triangles Stencil Set to add in color. I love that the stencils make it so easy to step it up a notch!
I wanted to keep much of the background with the foil and color showing so I added a Crimped Circle die in white cardstock at the bottom of the card. This way I could pop up the sentiment from Opposites Attract. I love the bold font and the little extras you can add to create the perfect sentiment.Â
Are you new to hot foiling?
Spellbinders has a platform called Glimmer Hot Foil System. This platform heats up metal plates called Glimmer Plates. These glimmer plates come in ALL different types….sentiments, florals, backgrounds, graphic details etc….and add the most gorgeous foiling detail to your cards. And the foils? There are LOTS of different colors to choose from!
The Glimmer Hot Foil System works great with lots of different die cut machines. You can click HERE to see a compatibility chart. Â
First you heat up the platform and your glimmer plate on the Glimmer System Platform. Then you add in the foil and the cardstock and run it through your die cut machine. Once you pull off the foil negative, the magic happens! That foil that is set on your cardstock and the results are just gorgeous!
