Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts embossing folder & die

Simple Valentine Sentiments & Simple Valentine Mini Sentiments stamp sets
Rounding out our heart-filled versions of the Shortbread Shapes series, we have a couple of new stamp sets. Done in the same font as the Simple Holiday Sentiments & Mini Sentiments released last October, these sets feature all sorts of Valentine and love-themed sentiments. Like the original holiday sets, these two sets include the same sentiments done in different scales, and they coordinate wonderfully with the Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Labels die.

Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition stamp set & die
Last April we released our Sweetest Frames set. It’s been a favorite, so we’re excited to bring you a Capsule-shaped edition of this wonderful basic! Just like the original, we have a stamp set and coordinating die. The die allows you to use either the inner or outer cuts (or both) for lots of versatility in creating frames, mats, and windows. There are two sizes of pretty bows included as wel.

We have a new Capsule Borders stamp set, this one with Valentine/Love borders. The sent includes two different borders plus a handful of sentiments. We also have a new pack of Capsule Gallery prints! This set is very much like the holiday set released last November, but with pretty love, floral, and postal images. Perfect for tags, card focal points, and more. These can be cut with one of the smaller dies from the Capsule Basics set.

Capsule Fixed Borders Large & Small dies
In response to some customer requests, we’re releasing some fixed borders for the Capsule series. These dies make it super quick and easy to cut perfect borders. The large size coordinates with any of our Capsule sets the feature the larger border, like Rosemal Reflections (stamp set and embossing folder) and Thankful & Blessed. The smaller version coordinates with any of our Capsule Collection Border stamp sets (Floral, Holiday, and the new Valentine). These borders can be cut using the individual dies from our Capsule Basics set, but these fixed versions take the guesswork out of perfectly centered frames every time!

Let’s get to some projects!
First up is probably my favorite little ensemble from the release! It uses the new Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts embossing folder and die, paired with a few previously released items. While these sets feature hearts prominently, they definitely don’t need to be tucked away after Valentine’s day! They are perfect for weddings, babies, birthdays, and more. This ensemble will be perfect for an upcoming wedding this summer.

The card is a shaped card, created with the new Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts die and embossing folder. I layered it over a Rosemal Reflections frame as well for lots of dimension. The frames were cut from woodgrain cardstock, embossed with the embossing folders, then sponged with dark brown ink to really bring out the embossing.

The pretty floral bouquet was created with the Best Bouquet Details die. I added bows to the frame as well, which were cut using the bow dies included in the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die. The “congratulations” sentiment is from the All Occasion Script Sentiments set and cut with the coordinating die.

I created a couple of coordinating pieces – a smaller shaped card/tag that was creating using the scalloped center from the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die and embossing folder.

I attached the embossed piece to a base of the same shape that was created by cutting that scalloped circle from a piece of folded cardstock. The flowers are again from the Best Bouquet Details die. I added a hanger to the top using the Hang it Up die. The sentiment here is from the new French Kiss Sentiments set, cut with the matching die.

To finish up the little project ensemble, I created a pretty tag. This floral print was the inspiration for the color combo in my diecut floral boquets.

This pretty floral print is included in the Capsule Valentine Gallery prints. I diecut it using the Capsule Basics die and added a Filigree Frames border and Hang it Up hanger to the top. The embossed heart in the center was cut with the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die and embossed with the matching embossing folder.

Next up I have several Valentine projects using the new Shortbread Shapes goodies!
First is a set of cards and tags, using both of the new Shortbread sets.

This first one uses the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle die (previously released), which coordinates with the new Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Hearts embossing folder. I pulled out my Piped Sentiments: Sweet die to diecut that pretty word, then added the rest of the sentiment using the new Simple Valentine Sentiments set, stamped onto a Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels diecut. I added a few heart accents, which were cut with the new Whole-Hearted die and embossed with the new Coquette Hearts embossing folder. I had a few Best Bouquet Details diecuts lying on my desk, so I snipped them apart and added some little sprigs to the hearts.

The round version of course uses the new Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die and embossing folder. I used all of the same supplies as the square version. One more thing to note is that I sprinkled these with Sno-Flock powder to give them a flour-y glittery look.

The matching tags are just like the ones I created for the holidays. Sometimes it’s great to have the thinking and planning already done, and all that’s left is just the fun of creating! These use the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle die to cut the tiles/grid, which was then embossed with the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Hearts embossing folder. So easy to snip them apart and add them to the tags, which were cut with the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels die. The sentiments are from the Simple Valentine Mini Sentiments set.

This next one uses the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts embossing folder and die to create a larger 5×7″ shaped card. This was so simple and easy to create – the embossing does all of the work!

I didn’t feel the need to add a lot, I used the largest heart from the Coquette Hearts embossing folder (cut with the Whole-Hearted die) and layered it over the scalloped circle from the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts set, layered over a shaped base cut with the largest die from the set. I stamped and heat embossed the “be mine” sentiment from the Simple Valentine Mini Sentiments set. As a finishing touch I grabbed a little heart banner and bows from the Market Place: Lover’s Lane die and strung it across the heart.

I diecut and embossed a bunch of both the Shortbread Scalloped and Rectangle Hearts and had fun just experimenting with different layering possibilities with the two, as well as the Coquette Hearts. I have a whole bin of them just waiting to be used up! This next one layers the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts circle over a Rectangle Hearts base for a different possibility.

Again, super easy, I let the embossing do all the work! I did brush over the embossing with a white ink pad to bring out the design even more and add interest. The bow was cut with the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die. The sentiment is from Simple Valentine Sentiments, stamped onto a Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Labels die.

The Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts die also includes several small heart dies. I had so much fun playing with those as well! Here I diecut a bunch and embossed them with the embossing folder, then lined them all up on an A2 card base, popping them up with foam dots for lots of fun dimension.

I love the “queen of hearts” vibe on this one! And all the texture! The sentiment is from the Simple Valentine Sentiments set, stamped onto a Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Label diecut.

Before I tear myself away from the Shortbread Shapes goodies, one more for you! This time a soft and pretty baby card. I used the embossing folder to emboss the background panel, then layered a pretty diecut frame, which was cut using the Scalloped Hearts die and embossed with the same embossing folder.

Layered under that pretty frame is a floral panel that was created using the new Bitty Blooming Hearts set. I framed it with the Diamond Foliage die, cut from a super soft green cardstock. Tip: the Diamond Foliage die isn’t quite wide enough to completely cover the opening of the Scalloped Hearts frame, but I cheated by adding some of the individual little foliage cuts that are included with the die to extend the edges on the sides. Easy fix! The sentiment was stamped onto a Rectangle Labels diecut using the Folk Heart Sentiments stamp set. I also layered a heart tile from the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Hearts set.

Up next I have several projects that use all of the new Capsule goodies!
First up is a pretty set of Capsule-shaped cards. The pretty wavy frame was created by combining our Capsule Basics die with the new Sweetest Frames: Capsule Edition stamp set and matching die. Love that pretty, feminine touch!

I stamped the larger Sweetest frame from the set onto the largest Capsule die and heat embossed it with gold, then cut out the interior using the Sweetest Frames die. In the interior of each card is a pretty floral print, which was again done using the new Bitty Blooming Hearts stamp + stencil. I used shades of red, pink and burgundy. I framed the florals with the new Diamond Hearts die, cut from velvet paper for a pretty, tactile addition!

The sentiments were all stamped using the new Simple Valentine Mini Sentiments set. These sentiments fit nicely on the Little Linked Labels, which gives them such an elegant look, especially with the embossing, done using the matching Little Linked Labels embossing folder. The bows at the top of each were also stamped and cut with the Sweetest Frames Capsule set.

Next is a pair of smaller Capsule cards using the new Sweetest Frames paired with the new Capsule Valentine Borders stamp set. I love, love, love mixing and layering all of the different Capsule products…there are so many different combos you can create by combining all of the various products from our Capsule line. It seems like I’m always finding fun new combos! To cut the borders here on which to stamp the Valentine borders, I used the new small Capsule Fixed Border die…I love how quick and easy it makes it to cut these perfect borders!

I used foam adhesive to attach all of the layers for lots of fun dimension. Bottom to top the layers are:
- Smaller scallop from the Capsule Basics set
- Smaller wavy frame from the Sweetest Frames: Capsule Edition (stamped and the interior cut with the matching die)
- Capsule Fixed Borders Small die, cut from red and stamped with the heart/arrow border from the Capsule Collection Valentine Borders stamp set.
Inside each frame is a Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels diecut along with a heart that was created with the Scalloped Hearts die and embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Simple Valentine Mini Sentiments set.

Last but not least, one more larger card that uses the new Valentine Borders stamp set with a pretty Rosemal Reflections and Filigree Border. I’ve been having fun mixing a matching different shades of red. I love this bright tomato-y red mixed with a deeper shade!
