A few weeks ago, I unfortunately had to make a sympathy card. These are never easy to make, so I took my time, and put a lot of love into this card. I knew Myra loved roses, so I pulled out Botanicuts Roses die, and started die-cutting white card stock.

I die-cut five roses and a few leaves for a 5×7 card. I inked the die-cuts with the following Distress Oxide inks: Iced Spruce and Old paper on the leaves; Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, and Iced Spruce on the roses. I glued the pieces together, following the included guide, then added Clear Rock Candy glitter to the leaves, and shimmer to the roses.
For the background, I blended light gray ink over Berry Branch stencil. Since the 5×7 panel was a bit bigger than the stencil, I moved the stencil around, making sure to cover the whole panel. Once I finished stenciling, I glued the roses and leaves onto the panel, and backed the panel with light gray cardstock. I attached the panel to a card base, and moved on to the sentiment.

I picked a sentiment from Comfort And Joy stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock with Iced Spruced Distress Oxide ink, and die-cut it with Hoopla Oval insert die. I die-cut a Hoopla Oval Frame, inked it with Victorian Velvet, and attached it to the oval. I used 2mm foam squares to attach the sentiment to the card.
I love how all of these products came together to make a beautiful card for Myra’s family. It’s so hard to lose a loved one, especially at Christmas, so I hope this card can help bring at least a little peace to their day.
That’s all that I have for today. Take care, friends!
