Hello and welcome, friends! It’s Kelly here today and I’m happy to be here! Back in February, Pinterest decided it wanted to show me all kinds of pretty images featuring tea sets and petit fours! Ha ha! I obliged and saved a few because as soon as I saw those pretty petit fours, I KNEW I wanted to try using
the Curio Confections Die to make some paper versions! I also knew that the Fine China suite of products would be the perfect companion!

To begin, I used the Fine China Hot Foil with Champagne foil for the plates. I used the Fine China Die +
Stencil to cut out the plates and then added soft color with the stencils. I took all of my color cues from
the pretty image that I had saved and the china was pale pink and white with touches of blue. Now,
don’t make the same mistake I did; I forgot that the pierced circle detail doesn’t actually CUT a circle
out, too! Woops! I had stamped the circle rose images on a separate piece of cardstock and was thinking
I could use that circle piece to cut them out, but no, it is just the pierced detail. Instead, I used the pierced detail on the larger plate and then simply used a circle punch to punch out the rose detail piece
and glued it to the plate.

For the smaller plate, I used a larger punch and popped it up using foam squares. Before I added it to the
plate, I stamped the sentiment in black ink using the Fine China Stamp Set. I set all of the plates aside,
including the tiny one and got to work on the petit fours. Normally I die cut things like this from white
cardstock and then use ink to color them, but in order to achieve the desired effect, I cut them from
regular colored cardstock. I chose a pale pink, aqua, and lilac and used a bright gold cardstock for the
paper liners. I used foam squares to pop the petit fours up on the liners to give them dimension.
Each of the petit fours got a tiny cluster of flowers using the Winter Medley die. Of course, the real
version had flowers made from icing so I added a dot of white Nuvo Drops to the center of each flower
to achieve that same look. I don’t know about you, but I don’t use my drops as much as I used to, so it’s
always nice to have an excuse!

Once all of the elements were ready to go, I got to work assembling the card. I added a touch of aqua ink
around the edges of a white panel measuring 4 by 5 ¼ inches. I layered the plates on a diagonal and then
added the petit fours here and there. The smallest plate is tucked in the corner and I simply removed
the excess with scissors. I used the Flappable Stencil to decorate the envelope and then used another
sentiment from the Fine China stamp set to tie it all together. The entire panel is added to a pale pink
top-folding card base using foam squares.

I really had a lot of fun making these petit fours and I can’t wait to try using them again for other projects. It’s always nice to stretch your supplies for multiple uses!
