Floral Filled Trophy with Dana + Shop Closure Notice for Next Week

Hey everyone! Betsy here, popping in with a little note about next week before I turn it over to Dana to tell us about the fun project she’s sharing today!

The shop will be closed next week Wednesday 6/18 through Monday 6/23 to allow us time to celebrate our daughter’s wedding! This means orders placed after 2pm on Tuesday, 6/17 will begin shipping on Monday 6/23. Customer Service will also be closed during this time. We’ll resume responding to Customer Service inquiries on Monday 6/23. Thank you for your support and patience while we take time to celebrate and spend time with family!

Now let’s hear from Dana and the cute project she has for us!

Hi crafty friends! I hope you all are doing well and having a great day! It’s Dana here today and I am stopping by with a card that uses the gorgeous Best Bouquet Details dies along with the World’s Greatest set. I just love all of the possibilities you can create with these sets and they are perfect for so many occasions. 

I started my card by using the Best Bouquet Details die to die cut all of my florals and foliage from white cardstock. I then used finger daubers and added ink to all the individual pieces before assembling my bouquet. Next, I used the World’s Greatest die and matching stamp to create my trophy. 

I used the Frosted Frames and Pierced Plaid dies to create my card panel. I ink blended the Pierced Plaid panel with a soft pink ink and then added the Frosted Frame to create a scalloped edge. I then attached my trophy and bouquet with foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a few florals at the bottom of the trophy for a little added detail.

Layering Summery Hues with Melissa

I love starting my cards off with a color scheme in mind and see where it takes me.  I love this fun, minty green color that I selected for my card base and deepened the color by adding stenciling over the top using the Inside & Out Tags stencil. 

I then added a strip of bright pink paper ribbon, die cut using the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die.  I added my sentiment and little bow on a die cut Crest No 3., stamped using the Folk Heart Sentiments stamps and dies.  I pulled in more pink with my die cut BotaniCuts Hollyhocks.  To finish, I added a few die cut leaves using the Big Branches: Ruscus.  I also added white glitter cardstock photo using the Romantic Corners dies. 

The result is so fresh and summery! Thanks for stopping by and joining me today!

Star Spangled Congrats with Kelly

Hello and welcome, friends! It’s Kelly here today sharing a pair of congratulatory cards using some of the
beautiful new products included in the Star Spangled Summer Collection paired with some previously released stamps/dies from the Jubilee Collection! I had saved a cute illustration using a trophy cup but
didn’t feel I could execute the same look with the available products, but all that changed when the Star
Stream suite of products made their debut! I couldn’t wait to get started; let me tell you how I created
the pair!

To begin, I used the beautiful new Star Stream Hot Foil on an A2 panel of Gray Kraft and Vintage Cream
cardstock using champagne foil. Once that was done, I used the Star Stream 3D Embossing Folder on
both panels! Your die cutting machine should have instructions on how to build the correct “sandwich”
for this type of embossing folder.

I spritzed both panels with shimmer spray (I’m definitely back in my shimmer spray era) and set them
aside to dry. I used the World’s Greatest Die to cut the two trophy cups from Antique Gold cardstock. I
also heat embossed the two sentiments, which are included in the World’s Greatest Stamp Set, on the
same cardstock using gold embossing powder and then cut them using the World’s Greatest Sentiments
Die. I attached them to the cups using small strips of foam tape.

I die cut the foliage using the Rosemary and Berry Die from white cardstock and then colored them using
twisted citron, mowed lawn, and rustic wilderness distress oxide ink and finger sponge daubers. I also
cut the berries, but quickly realized that the stars would be much cuter! The stars are left over from the
centers of the stars tucked in the cups, which were cut using the Star Struck Die. I simply glued them to the “bulbs” where the berries should go using liquid glue. I also gave a few of them a gem for added sparkle and detail.

Once that was all done, it was time to assemble the cards! I trimmed the foiled panels to measure 4 by 5
¼ inches and attached them to their bases with foam squares: Antique Gold for the Gray Kraft panel and
Gray Kraft for the Vintage Cream panel. The trophy cups hide the large star on the panel perfectly and then I added the foliage using small strips of foam squares, like I mentioned earlier; same goes for the
stars tucked into the cups.

I had so much fun bringing this idea to life; it was one of those things that I kept thinking about and then
the Star Spangled Summer Collection made it a reality! For the past few months, I haven’t been
organizing the new cards I make very well and my stash had gotten pretty out of control. I took some
time the other day to get it back where it needed to be and in doing so, I noticed the “congrats/well
done” section was quite lacking. It’s nice to have gender neutral cards like this on hand for all sorts of
occasions that would warrant it; retirement, accomplishments other than graduation (although these
would work for that, too), recitals, performances, etc. I hope the pairing of these two collections has
sparked some of your own ideas! Thanks for joining me today!

Star Stream Suite

Our next suite of products is perfect for out of this world galaxy-inspired projects! The whirling, swirling starry design is fun for summer and patriotic cards as well as baby, congrats, and more! This product suite includes a new type of product for us – a 3D embossing folder! TIP: Stencil the fireworks using Versamark ink, then brush over them with metallic pigment powder for a fun effect! Use a gold pen to add details to the pierced dots on the Grand Finale cover plate die.

TIP: Use the Star Stream die to create a paper-pieced background! Cut the Star Stream background from a few different cardstock colors. Leave one intact to use as a base. Snip the others apart and adhere them to the base panel for a multi-colored background!

Sweetest Frames Gift Card Pockets Tutorial + Save the Date!

Hello and happy Friday! Popping in with a few fun things today. First of all, we have some new goodies coming to the shop next week. I hope you’ll join us as we sneak peek, showcase, and release a new collection called Star Spangled Summer! Stay tuned next week for more on that!

Next up, I finally had a chance to edit the video for these gift card pockets that I shared during the last release using the Sweetest Frames stamp set and die, paired with the Bow Bookmark die and Best Bouquet florals. Several of you have been asking for this, and my apologies for this taking a bit longer than expected!

Also, we just restocked the Sweetest Frames dies – I know many of you have been waiting on those as well, and they are back in stock now (plus another batch of dies! Check out all the recent back in stock items here!) 🙂

World’s Greatest Guys & Gals with Dawn

Hey there! Popping in to share a pair of cards today. I fell hard for the new World’s Greatest trophy die and stamps from this most recent release, and wanted to use them to make a pair of birthday cards. I love that you can use that fun trophy to make both masculine AND feminine cards, and I always need more birthday cards, so I decided to make one of each today!

First up, I die cut this trophy from silver glitter card stock. Oh my word, how fun is that?!! It’s soooo pretty in real life! And then, of course, I topped it with flowers, which made it even prettier!!

I used the newly released Best Bouquet Base die and stamps, to create that big floral spray, and then added a few additional die cut flowers that I made with the Best Bouquet Details dies.

PRO TIP: I was able to fluff out the bouquet and add more fullness over on the right side of my bouquet, to balance out the trophy positioning on the left, by adding those extra die cut flowers. And by die cutting them in the same colors that I’d stamped on the rest of the bouquet, the die cuts blend right in and look like they’re a part of the whole bouquet!

Next up, the guy card….I die cut the trophy from a slate gray card stock and stamped it with the corresponding gray ink. Then, I topped it with gray sentiments from World’s Greatest Sentiments that were die cut and stamped.

I stamped the Big Yay! starburst rays on the background up at the top, and then die cut and stamped the Big Yay! I also added the Star Struck die cut, which I cut from super shiny silver card stock.

PRO TIP: I stamped those starburst rays in a soft shade of blue ink, so that it wouldn’t show a whole lot, through the stars in the die cut. This way, the stars really stand out, and aren’t visually confusing with a bunch of lines showing through the star centers.

The die cut stars that pop out of the big cluster, make the perfect little accents on the trophy, down at the bottom of the card, and help fill out the star cluster, as well.

Hi there! Popping in today to share some updates we’ve been making to the store portion of our site. If you’ve visited the shop this week, you may have noticed we’ve freshened things up! I’d love it if you’d hop over to the shop and check it out! We’ve cleaned some things up, added a new customer dashboard, and made things more mobile-friendly for those of you that like to shop from your phone (raising hand!).

Did you know we feature a card each week where the supplied used are 15% off all week? This part isn’t new, but our Card of the Week has a more user-friendly, interactive interface.
