Tangled Tulips product suite
If you enjoyed our Rosemal Reflections product suite, you will love this springy version filled with elegant tulips and foliage! Designed with a very similar concept to our Rosemal Reflections, this product suite is designed to work with our Capsule product series and includes a stamp + stencil set and matching die, an embossing folder, and a details die – all featuring elegant, flowing tulips.

Simple Spring Sentiments & Mini Sentiments
Continuing with our Simple Sentiments series, we have some spring additions. Like our previous Simple Sentiments sets, there is a regular and a mini version. These sets are filled with sentiments for spring and Easter and coordinate wonderfully with our Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels die.

I’m excited to share some projects with these new goodies!
First up, I have several projects using the new Tangled Tulips product suite.
First up is a pair of Easter-themed cards. These are both 5×7 cards and combine the new Tangled Tulip items with some previously released elements from our Capsule series.

This first one features a colorful embossed border that was done by combining the Tangled Tulips stamp + stencil set and the matching embossing folder. The tulips and tiny flowers are done via the stencils in the set, which makes for super easy alignment since they are fixed in place around the entire perimeter of the Capsule shape. The foliage is done with the stamp from the set, but it is also the full perimeter. Additionally, the stamp base for the foliage has the capsule shape built into it, making alignment a breeze. I’ll be putting together a video using the Tangled Tulips suite soon, so be on the lookout for that as well!

For the interior of the design, I layered some previously released items – the Capsule Filigree Borders, cut from gold metallic cardstock, and also a Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition – stamped and heat embossed with gold embossing powder onto some steel blue cardstock, then the interior was cut out using the matching die. Over this cut-out window, I added two of the Tangled Tulips Details diecut clusters, as well as the banner from the Tangled Tulips die set. The sentiment is included in the Tangled Tulips stamp set.

This second card from the duo is a shaped card in which the shaped base was created using the Capsule Basics die. I layered an embossed panel, embossed with the new Tangled Tulips embossing folder, then layered a Sweetest Frames Capsule layer over the top.

The tulip clusters were stamped using the Tangled Tulips stamp set, then cut with the matching die. After stamping and diecutting them, I also added some embossed dimension using the Tangled Tulips embossing folder.
I get lots of questions about the cardstock colors used, so I will share the colors here used in this card duo. This card uses Arctic from the Mohawk Mosaic collection, which is a gorgeous steely blue (which can almost lean lavender or periwinkle), along with Colormates Really Buff, which is a gorgeous buttery cream, as well as plain white and Stardream Antique Gold metallic.

While I love the Tangled Tulips set for Easter, it’s going to be wonderful for lots of other occasions as well…think Mother’s Day, birthdays, weddings, and more (I can’t wait to make some elegant wedding cards!). This next card duo includes a Mother’s Day and a birthday card.

Let’s take a closer look at the birthday card first. This one is an A2-sized (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) card. The Tangled Tulips suite (much like the Rosemal Reflections set) is versatile enough to work well for either card size, so if you’re exclusively an A2-sized card maker, you don’t need to feel left out!

The background panel was embossed with the Tangled Tulips embossing folder, and I love how it just peeks out from behind the smaller scalloped Capsule Basics die. I also embossed the interior oval with the tulip folder, then layered two of the Tangled Tulips Details diecut clusters over top of the embossed design, not aligning them perfectly so that the embossing sort of peeks through from underneath. For the sentiment, I pulled out an oldie-but-goodie Sentiment Suite Birthday set and gently curved one of the linear sentiments to fit nicely on the embossed banner.

The second card from this duo is a pretty Mother’s Day card. I kept this one nice and simple and let the embossing do most of the work for me!

The shaped base was created using the Capsule Basics dies. I also used the Capsule Fixed Borders Large die to quickly cut a perfect border that I could emboss with the Tangled Tulips Embossing folder. The scalloped Capsule base shape was also embossed with the Capsule Basics embossing folder to get the pretty embossed details on the scallops as well as that embossed outer border that the tulip border just nestles right into. There’s something so satisfying about that perfect little detail! It gets me every time! I also added a Capsule Filigree Border, cut from vintage gold cardstock. I diecut and assembled one Tangled Tulips Details cluster and snipped it apart so I could arrange it around my sentiment. The sentiment is a new set as well – you’ll be seeing more about that one tomorrow!

Up next, I couldn’t resist creating something with a traditional Dutch tulip look…a nod to my heritage. 🙂 Black backgrounds can add so much drama…then paired with some embossed woodgrain cardstock? Feels like a match made in heaven.

I started out with a black Capsule base, embossed with the Capsule Basics embossing folder. Then I diecut a Large Fixed Border from woodgrain cardstock and embossed it with the Tangled Tulips folder. I filled the interior with two of the Tangled Tulips Details diecuts and a banner from the Tangled Tulips die (note…this banner is exactly the same as the one included in the Rosemal Reflections die as well). The sentiment is from the Thanks All Ways set. Just curve it as you attach it to your clear stamping block to follow the curve of the banner. You can use nearly any linear sentiment in this way, as long as it’s small enough to fit on the banner, of course!

Up next I have some projects using the new Shortbread goodies!
First up is a springy card set that uses the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Spring embossing folder. Like our previously released Shortbread Rectangle embossing folders, this one also coordinates with the previously released Rectangle Die.

These were simple and fun to put together. I created the shaped bases using the Shortbread Rectangle die and added an embossed layer to each, as well as a colorful frame, also created with the same embossing folder and die.

I layered each one with a pretty new floral diecut…you’ll be seeing much more of these tomorrow when we formally introduce them! The banners and sentiments are from the new Tangled Tulips stamp set and die.

Finally, I have a card and tag set created with the new Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Easter embossing folder and also the new Simple Spring Sentiments sets.
Let’s take a closer look at the card. I again created the shaped base using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle die, and embossed another panel to layer over the top using the new Easter embossing folder.

That sweet bunny is also being formally introduced tomorrow, but I couldn’t wait to use him! He’s adorable with some of tomorrow’s new goodies, but he’s also perfect to pair with the new Easter Shortbread embossing folder. I surrounded him with a cluster of tulips, created with the Tangled Tulips Details die. The sentiment is from the Simple Spring Sentiments stamp set, stamped onto a Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Label diecut.

And lastly, a set of sweet Easter tags. I have loved making these quick and easy tags for all sorts of occasions since we released our first Shortbread Shapes back in October. This Easter addition was just calling to be done in the softest pastels.

Like the other similar tags I’ve created in the past, the base was created using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Labels die and the embossed tiles were made using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle die, embossed with the new Easter embossing folder. The grid in the die makes it easy to snip the design apart into the little individual tiles. The little blossoms were cut using one of the florals we’ll be introducing tomorrow. The sentiments were stamping using the new Simple Spring Mini Sentiments stamp set.

That wraps up my projects for today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with more product reveals and projects before the new collection goes up in the shop on Monday, March 16 at 10am EDT.
