Hello and happy Friday! Betsy here! It’s been a bit since I’ve had a chance to create just for the fun of it, but I’ve been trying to be a little more intentional about doing just that. I have a few projects to share with you today. I’ve been having so much fun turning our Nordic Tree upside down to create some adorable baskets. I’ll get to that in just a minute (along with a how-to video), but first a little update!
I know many of you have been waiting and inquiring about out of stock dies – our virtual die shelves are feeling a little bare! I just wanted to let you all know that we’re experiencing some longer restock times due to (the unexpected!) transitioning to a new die manufacturer. We are working hard on getting our large catalog of dies transferred over. This process takes some time as everything has to be re-proofed and re-sampled. Although it all came out of the blue and threw us for a bit of a loop, we’re making great progress and I’m confident that soon we’ll be back to smooth sailing. We should start to see some restocks rolling in in the next 2-4 weeks.
New Release Update!
Due to all of the craziness mentioned above, we are slightly behind our anticipated schedule for the year, but our spring release is coming soon. Myself and the team are busy creating beautiful things to share with you using a brand new collection called Bunnies & Bows. Sweet designs for babies, spring, Easter and more, and we can’t wait to show you everything! We’re thankful that like us, Easter is also really late this year, lol. We’ll be showcasing everything here on the blog the week of March 17. We’re confident that we will have all of our new products in hand and ready to go for the release (including some fun new dies), so I’m super excited about that!

Now for today’s project, or should I say projectS! And a video 🙂
Like I mentioned, today’s projects are all about turning our Nordic Tree die upside down to create some sweet baskets. So fun for shaped notecards, tags, or a focal point on a regular card.

I put together a little how-to video for you showing how to put together some basket-shaped notecards. I’ll also talk about the other projects shown here!

Here are some close-ups photos of each one as well.

I talk about most of these details in the video, but here are some notes and links to supplies and such!

- The Hoopla Oval die is perfect for creating a handle on the largest basket that uses the largest section of the Nordic Tree die. The small oval hoop from the Hoopla Mini set is great for the smaller baskets. I like that they have the embossed woodgrain, but if you have a set of nesting oval dies in your stash that might work as well!
- The Takes the Cake Stand or Takes the Cake Mini works perfectly for a little base for the baskets.
- The flower strip from the Springtime stamp set and matching die is perfect for filling the baskets. It’s just right for the largest, and can be trimmed down for the smaller ones.
- Looking to add a bow? The bow from our Ribbon Frame die is great for the large basket, the bow from our Ornamental Tag die is great for the smaller.
- The banner sentiments used here are from the Springtime set, cut with the banner die from the Christmas Time Sentiments set, which also coordinates with these sentiments in the Springtime set.
- The large basket makes a great focal point on a regular card, too! The card shown here uses a scalloped base cut with the A2 Stitched Scallops die.
- Instead of using the flower strip from the Springtime set, play around with building your own bouquets. I filled my basket with a mix of blooms cut with a few different dies – Petal Pusher Blooms, BotaniCuts Lilacs (leaves), BotaniCuts Forget-Me-Nots, and also a few flower embellishments from our Garden Mix Bits. The “spring” sentiment is from the Spring Snowdrops set.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I loved sharing these projects with you! 😊

Absolute treasures! These are so sweet, Betsy ❤️
These projects are simply breathtaking, Betsy! Gorgeous!
Love these sweet little baskets! Betsy, you are so amazingly creative!!
I love seeing creative ideas for using dies. Thank you for sharing.
So creative, Betsy!! I can’t wait to create some Spring baskets of my own. Oh, how I adore these sentiments! Heartfelt thanks for the wonderful video, Betsy! 🩷
This is adorable Betsy! I could also see this making a cute umbrella as well for May Showers!
I love the idea of using the tree to make these baskets – they are sweet! Will the new dies be made in the U.S. and if not, may I ask where? Thank you!
Unfortunately, Made in the USA is no longer an option when it comes to dies. The one and only US manufacturer (the one we used) has completely ceased all operations and is now in bankruptcy proceedings. We remained steadfast in our commitment to made in the US as long as it was possible to do so. As it is now the only option, we are moving die production over seas and are working directly with a reputable manufacturer in China. Our stamps (clear and rubber) and stencils will still be produced here in the US (our stencils are now being made right here in our facility!)
Wow, these are so creative and beautiful, how clever to use that tree in an entirely different way then it was intended, love this!!
Lovely basket creations! and, thank you for the update. Also, can’t wait for the new collection!.
Thank you for this fun video! I must buy the Nordic Tree die now!! 😝
These are darling and I love repurposing a die!
Cute baskets!
These projects are so wonderful. You are always so great about showing how to get multiple uses from dies we might already have. Thanks for that. They sing spring to me and for that I am grateful …
So creative. Beautiful designs.
Love, love, love this project, what a cute idea, I’ll have to try it. Thanks so much for the inspiration and using our other products!.
What a beautiful card. I love how you rethought this die. I just love there are three sizes of baskets.
Just the cutest idea I’ve seen. Love that tree die and now it’s a basket, so fun and adorable!!!
So clever! I love double duty crafty things!
Leave it to you, Betsy, to turn an upside down tree into a basket! Love how you give us unconventional ways to use our dies and get more mileage from our die supply.
Just so creative and beautiful. Thank you!
I have used the Nordic Tree die several times since Christmas for bouquets, but I love the idea of using the hoopla oval dies to make the handles…now I have even more ideas for this beautiful Nordic Tree. Thanks Betsy, absolutely lovely.
This is both brilliant and beautiful! I amazed with all of your creativity!
Hello, Beautiful tags by Dawn, lovin the colors.
Betsy, Iam curious and would like to know the following. I hope that by changing your die manufacture that it does not affect the quality of the product and will not cause a longer wait time on back orders due to the demand. Also, does this mean that there will be a price increase on new products. So sorry that your new release will be later in the Spring season. I am excited and look forward to the new release. One of your biggest fans of the Greetery.

Hi Audrey! I completely understand your concerns, but we are feeling very positive about all of the potential issues you mentioned. The dies we’ve received have been absolutely excellent in quality and the cuts they produce. We are very pleased. The manufacturer we are working with comes highly recommended through sources that we trust and can attest to their quality and consistency. Initially, restock times of older products are a bit longer since we have to go through the re-proofing process, but once we get things going we expect restock times to be similar to what we’ve had in the past, potentially slightly longer, but it shouldn’t be too significant. You will not see prices increase, in fact we expect we’ll be able to offer slightly better pricing moving forward, but we of course don’t know exactly what the future holds in regards to current events in the international trade scene. It’s definitely something we’re keeping an eye on. I hope that helps! We are so thankful for your support!
