Fireside with Laurie

Hello Greetery friends!  It’s Laurie Willison here! 

This latest Christmas Release, Fireside Holiday, has me so very in the mood to create some Christmas cards.  While I love quick and simple card making, the new die set called Fireside, is just that!  It is so easy to create a quick scene just from a few die cuts!

To create this card, I took a light gray card base and added an all white fireplace.  Of course you can change this up by layering all the colors in but all white works so well!  First off, I laid out the fireplace die to add in my sentiment.  This one from Scripted Holiday Sentiments, tucks perfectly behind the mantle.  

After adding the fireplace to the card base with some foam tape, I added in all the little details…the fire, logs, grate and tools.  I love the little pop of gold in those accents.  After hanging some greenery, I tucked in the stockings from the Hung with Care Die Set. I used the berry die from Rosemary and Berry to create some little red glitter decoration on the greenery to finish off the card. 

You know I love clean and simple with lots of white space but I always love to share a few tips for adding in more detail:

• Add in a background stamp in a subtle color would give the perfect wallpaper look for the simple scene. 
• The Curio Cover Die would make the perfect frame around the fireplace scene.  
• Add in more detail with a Chrismtas tree or even the chair from Warm and Cozy would be so much fun!
