Last month, I made a set of fun mix-and-match birthday tags that I loved putting together. But since we started milling our own wheat a couple years ago, and I have officially become a more confident baker, we often like to give baked goods as gifts to those around us….partly because everything is so delicious, but also because thanks to the fresh milled wheat, it’s all so super nutritious! It feels SO good to give gifts that I know will not only be a blessing to the recipients taste buds, but to their bodies overall, as well!
That being said, sometimes when I’m packaging up some fresh baked dinner rolls or bread or cookies or the like, I want to add a quick gift tag to make it a bit more cute and special. I realized that I typically make gift tags that are birthday specific, or for some certain holiday or occasion. I needed to make some gift tags that are for all those “just because” gifts that you just decide to give on a whim, not because there’s any special reason for it, other than that giving a gift is a blessing….to the recipient AND TO ME!!
That’s how this group of tags came about. I saw the Char-Cut-Erie Board Die and it hit me that it’s the perfect shape for a gift tag and if you die cut it from any random color, all of a sudden, it doesn’t really look like a cutting board at all! But it sure makes a fun base to pile on literally anything you want, for gift tags!
In this case, I first grabbed the Award Winning dies to add a bit splash of layers and colors to the tags, and then started piling on die cuts and embellishments. Each sentiment is either the Simply Bold For You die or a stamp from the Tagged Elegance stamp set or the Speed Tagging Christmas Sentiments stamp set.
I added stamped florals from Birth Month Blooms Q2 and Q3, and then used the Bird of Paradise Border Die and the Big Branches Ruscus Die to tuck layers of foliage in here and there.
I hope these give you some ideas and get your wheels turning for all the layered up jumbo just because tags you could make, too! And just image the Char-Cut-erie Board Die used for Christmas gift tags!!! Sooooo many possibilities!
Happy crafting, friends!

What a CLEVER idea! Well done!
These are adorable, Dawn. That cheeseboard paddle is a perfect tag and your colors are fabulous!
These are adorable and such a great idea! Wish I was on the receiving end of those special baked gifts!
What a SUPER IDEA for this little board die, Dawn!
Just beautiful, Dawn ~ your lovely gift tags, freshly baked gifts… and your heart!! 🩷
Dawn!
Wow!
I always love your color combinations and your tags are just gorgeous! And the inspiration
I needed to get making some tags for my fall treats I hand out! Cheers!
These tags made from the tiny charcuterie board are darling, Dawn! I love your taste in linens too. I can go into any antiques barn and pass by this item, that whatchmacallit over there, marvel over this doohickey or that and maybe pick up only a book…… until……… I see a stand that features linens. Then I cave big time! I have a huge stash of antique doilies, dresser scarves, table runners, etc.
I love what you’ve shared and thanks for the insp!
