Happy Tuesday, friends! Laurie is joining us today with some brand new inspiration using an older set from our lineup – I always love seeing fresh takes on some of our classics!
I’m also popping in with the second sneak peek of our Handiwork collection which is coming to the shop on Friday! I’m so excited about all of the fun things in this collection…I had so much fun designing them, and even more fun creating with them! What does your little eye spy in today’s peek?
We’ll be back tomorrow to kick off two days of reveals and projects from the team!
Now let’s hear from Laurie about the project she’s sharing today…
Hello Greetery friends! It’s Laurie Willison here with another clean and simple card. I love taking the gorgeous Greetery elements and making them pop. I absolutely love the window in the Fresh Air Stamp Set. The little scene it creates is perfect for an occasion but I love how it works for a Thinking of You card.
To create this card, I used the brick layered stamps from the Fresh Air set for the background, onto a piece of white cardstock. After stamping, I die cut the panel with the Crimped Frame Die. I stamped the sentiment from Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You, along the bottom in black ink. With a layer of fun foam behind the crimped panel, I added it to a white card base.
Next, I stamped and die cut the window and popped it up on foam squares. I love adding dimension with foam tape, foam squares or even fun foam to make card fronts come to life. Last, to keep it nice and simple, I stamped and die cut the floral swag and added it to the window.
You know I love keeping it clean and simple but for those of you who do amazing things with detail, here are a few….
Tips for adding in more details:
- Adding in some blue or even gray ink blending directly on the card base would be great to separate the window from the surrounding white space.
- Adding a larger die cut sentiment to the card front would make for a very elegant look.
- Replace the white card base with a colored cardstock for more color variation.
- Make a 3 layer bifold card with added florals to create a fun interactive card with the window as your centerpiece.
I am so glad you stopped by today. If you are inspired to create a clean and simple card, or by any of today’s tips, please tag me when you share over on Instagram! I love to see all your creations! IG @laurie_willison

The vintage sewing machine, spools of thread, needles, pin cushion, pin cards, “cross stitching” stamps, oval die, adia cloth, embroidery scissors, loose threads…… I’ve SO been wanting an old vintage sewing machine die too! These will be SOMETHING to see them in action!!! 😉

I always admire Laurie’s cards; so clean and beautiful! And this sneak peek #2 is absolutely awesome! I have no words left to describe the level of Betsy’s genius and creativity!
I adore Laurie’s card!! It’s that perfect balance of neutrals (shades of tan and grey) and pops of color (reds/greens). It drew me in instantly! I also love the sneak peek… that tomato pincushion took me right back to the late 1970s!

Oh my gosh. I love it. That sewing machine is gorgeous. Hurry up Friday.
I had a sewing machine like that which I inherited from my grandma. Looks like a very interesting release!!
Wow- can’t wait for Friday! That black & gold sewing machine is so like my 1949 Singer that l’ve been sewing on since l got it in 1967! The movers lost my brand new Singer that was part of my move from Ohio to CA. They gave me a check for the lost items – my new vacuum cleaner also was “lost”! When l went to the Singer store in CA to replace my lost machine, the owner told me to buy the 1949 used model & that it would last forever – so far he’s been right!
Great tips for the window card.
I am in love with that sewing machine!
Wow…this takes me back to my childhood and even the old sewing machine not too far off from what my first sewing machine looked like when I was eight years old. I think I can see many cards made, that would take people on a walk down memory lane…now I have to go trim my money tree!! 😉💸
Love the old sewing machine!
Laurie, Thanks for sharing the beautiful card!
The sewing theme is SO CUTE! I need to get some of these
Awesome card! I love all the details.
This card is gorgeous, I love the neutral simplicity and little pop of color.
