Happy Monday! We have special guest joining us on the blog today – Erin Thompson!
A few of the products from our most recent collection were designed in collaboration with Erin for a class she taught at the recent Nashville Craft Retreat. Erin came to me with a fun idea for a class all about creating rusty effects using inks and embossing powder. Her class idea was the basis for our Garden Tub die…and of course we needed something fun to fill it up with, so we created the Garden Tub Filler die to pair with it.
After Erin and several of her class participants shared their projects on social media, we received several requests for Erin share her techniques, and we’re so happy that she was willing to do that! She’s here today with a video, showing step-by-step how she created her rusty Garden Tubs.
I hope you enjoyed Erin’s video today – I definitely did! Thank you so much for joining us and sharing these fun techniques and ideas, Erin!

I can’t wait to watch this and learn this technique – I love the look. Beautiful card – thank you!
Awesome technique. Great card. Thank you to Erin and the Greetery for sharing this. I hope you do more of these.
Erin, I learned so much from your video. Thanks for sharing various ways to get a similar look. I love your card and can’t wait to try this technique with these Greetery stamps and dies.
Fabulous!
Love the patina on her garden tub… I’m eager to learn more!
I would love to watch the video but I did not see a link for one. Please include a link or make the link highly visible. Thanks! Love your products! I just hope I can find a link.
Hi Linda – the video is embedded into the post – just click to play! 🙂
I’m a tech nerd, Betsy! I’ve tried clicking on the post and can’t find Erin’s video. I own the dies she used and loved the look she created. Help!
Hi Sandra – the video is in the post – it looks like a large graphic of Erin’s card with the text “Techniques + How-to – Rusty Garden Tub” beside the card image. Just click on that graphic and the video will play. Here is a direct link to the video: https://youtu.be/8188ijtTpBE

Absolutely genius! Thank you for sharing these techniques; I learned so much!
This is spectacularly pretty! Love the background… looks so authentic. The floral stems are gorgeous.

p.s. I really like the idea of embossing to achieve the vintage look. I have several non-shiny powders that would help me attain a verdigris look or a rusted look. Thanks!

Wow, Erin- what a fabulous “How To” video! Thank you for sharing both techniques. I’ve tried a vintage, patina look to several of Betsy’s containers but I’m in love with the rusty embossed look! I enjoyed your video so much & excited to try your techniques! Thanks again! 👏👏😊
BEAUTIFUL!!!! THANK YOU, Erin & Betsy! 😉
I don’t have the bucket but I’m going to try this on the watering can! I love the patina look!
Great technique. Thanks for sharing this.
Beautiful, and cool effect on the tub!
Great video…learned a lot!
I love love love this technique. I did try it but I couldn’t get the embossing powder to “burn”. I am using the same embossing powder, maybe I need a new gun? About how long would you say did it take to get it to burn?
Love this. I just recv’d the Garden Tub. It was out of stock after your demo. I ordered the lattice & Garden filler & have just been waiting for the Tub. Going to have some fun. I love the patina look you did on it. Thank you for sharing.
