Dana is here today to share this simply gorgeous Takes the Cake project! I just love her color choices…with the gold it’s just fabulous! Before we get to Dana’s project, I just wanted to make your aware of a brief change from our usual daily shipping schedule for next week…

Shipping Notice for Week of 6/19

Due to the postal holiday on Monday/ 6/19 and limited warehouse staff next week, we will be only be shipping orders on Tuesday 6/20 and Friday 6/23 of next week. Orders placed after 3pm central time today (Friday 6/16) will ship on Tuesday, 6/20, and orders placed after Tuesday AM will ship on Friday, 6/23. We will resume our normal daily shipping schedule on Monday, 6/26. Thank you!

Now let’s hear it from Dana…

Hi friends! It’s Dana here today and I am excited to be back to share a birthday card will you all. The latest release includes so many amazing new products and I couldn’t wait to use the Takes the Cake set again! 

I started my card by using the Takes the Cake die set to create my ombre cake. I die cut the base of the cake from white cardstock and then inlaid the “layers” back into the frame. Next, I used the accent pieces to add gold frosting to the top and bottom of the cake and to create my candles. 

Once the base of my cake was finished I used the Takes the Cake Stand die to die cut my gold cake stand. I then mounted my cake onto my card panel that I ink blended with sea glass ink. I added a few splatters and set it aside to dry. Next, I used the Takes the Cake stamp set to create my florals and sentiment banner. I used the Takes the Cake Banner die and the Takes the Cake Floral Detail dies to cut everything out. Lastly, I attached the accent pieces to my cake to finish my card. 

I just love the possibilities with this set! You can create simple and elegant cakes or elaborate and fully decorated cakes… the sky’s the limit! Thanks for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed my card.
