TGIF – Floral Cakes with Dawn

We love to watch cooking and baking competition shows on tv, and when it comes to cakes, it seems like the sky’s the limit when it comes to how you can decorate them! So, when I saw that darling cake from the Takes the Cake collection in the April release, I knew right away that I wanted to pair it with some over-the-top decor and the BotaniCuts Morning Glory set was perfectly oversized just enough to fit, while also adding a whole lot of drama to that cake!!

My parents recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and these morning glories are right up my mom’s alley in terms of color, so it was a no brainer to make this a card for their anniversary! Of course you could leave off the candles, but they add that extra bit of fun on top of the cake, and I think there’s never a bad time to add candles! Haha! They bring the fun and that’s always a good thing!

Hope this cake inspires you to look at your stamp collection and come up with some really fun decorated cakes of your own!!

And of course, while you’re creating, you might be like me and not be able to stop with just one cake! Haha! So, I took similar colors, as well as some elements from the new Hey Cupcake set and the Window Dressing Dotted Scallops die, to create a birthday card, too!
