Angelica is joining us with a video today where she’s showcasing several new products on a cute wrap!
I have lots of projects to share today…tags, wraps, and cards, so let’s get to it!
First up I have a set of pretty wraps using our previously released Stationery Box die. I’ve reached for this die so many times, it’s a great basic. While it was designed to hold sets of cards, it works great for treats as well! I trimmed it down slightly to create more of a square box to hold a jumbo red velvet cookie. I also created a larger gift bag-style version by adding some wider strips to the sides. I scored these strips so they would fold in and create a tapered gift bag. I will try to put together a video tutorial soon as it’a a great way to wrap up larger treats and get even more use from the Stationery Box!
I embellished my Stationery Box dies by cutting some heart details using the Falling Hearts Background die. I backed these cut-outs with rose gold mirror cardstock (from Cardstock Warehouse) to add some shine. I also added several elements from our new collection…paper ribbon wraps cut using the new Ribbon Maker: Scalloped Hearts die from our White Paper Ribbon Rolls. I also added some of our new Valentine Tear Strip Tags, and a Heart Arrow diecut to the larger bag. I think they turned out so elegant looking, just perfect for the red velvet cookies!
Up next I have an assortment of tags made with several of the new products. I had SO much fun with these! They are basically Valentine versions of several of the tags I created during the holidays using our All Wrapped Up collection, which I loved making.
I used the Round About Hearts die to again create some tags with a bit of crochet around the top of the ring and some wooden beads. I had several questions about the beads I used on the holiday version, so I’ll go ahead and share that here, as I used the same ones. They are from Hobby Lobby’s bead aisle. They are raw wood, so I used my Oxide inks to add a little color to some of them for these Valentine tags. The sentiments I used on these are from our new Hot Stuff Sentiments set (and matching die), which were added to the smaller of the two Crimped Circle Tags and tied to the Round About ring with twine. They are just cute and fun!
I also made some tag/package embellishments using the new Heart Arrow die. I cut this cute die from rose gold cardstock, and layered it with 3 more layers cut from white cardstock to make it a little more sturdy so it could stand on its own as a tag/topper. I again added some crochet detail along the side of the heart using just basic single crochet stitches and white cotton yarn. I finished them off with some beads and twine and added a Tear Strip Tag to one of them.
Next I have a set of super quick and easy little note cards, inspired by that good old valentine classic…conversation hearts! I pulled out colored cardstock in all the colors that reminded me of these little candy hearts and diecut notecard bases using the base die from the Heart Arrow set. To do this, just fold your cardstock before diecutting it, positioning the top of the heart so that the blade of the die is above the fold and it won’t cut through. Voila! Shaped notecards!
I added a heart arrow diecut to each, cut from white cardstock, and sentiments from the Hot Stuff Sentiments set. I needed a cute way to wrap them up along with some 4″ square envelopes, so I again pulled out my Stationery Box die. I cut down the box to make it a little shorter so my heart notecards would fill the box. To add some detail to the flap of the box, I diecut it with the new Falling Hearts Background die. I cut little scraps of my colored cardstock using this die as well so I could pop some colored hearts back into the cut-outs. I finished by wrapping my box with twine and adding a Valentine Tear Strip Tag.
I had so much fun playing with the new Heart Arrow die – so many possibilities! I went with a more elegant look here and cut it from rose gold cardstock and paired it with a pretty floral bouquet over a tone-on-tone background. It reminds me of a fancy vintage box of chocolates! I love creating tone-on-tone backgrounds by layering two slightly different shades of cardstock. It’s simple, adds lots of texture, yet doesn’t distract from the other elements on your card. My heart background here was created with the new Ribbon Maker: Heart Strip die.
My flower bouquet was made from a mix of dies…Big Branches Ruscus, some bits of Big Branches: Baby’s Breath, blooms from BotaniCuts Hollyhocks, and tiny accents from Winter Medley. The sentiment is again from the new Hot Stuff Sentiments.
This next card uses our new Heart Arrow, but this time our Hot Foil version. Here I foiled it twice on the front of my card, then used the Heart Arrow die to cut a mask so I could sponge some ink inside the hearts. I added a few little hearts that were leftovers from cutting the Falling Hearts Background and Round About Heart dies. The sentiment is from Hot Stuff Sentiments.
The new Falling Hearts Background die is another great basic! Here I diecut it from copy paper to use as a stencil to sponge some ink and add some color to the front of my card base. I then diecut the Falling Hearts Background again, this time from a panel of white cardstock, and layered it over my stenciled hearts using foam dots to add some dimension. This was a quick and easy card to put together!
Next I have several cards using the new dies and sentiment stamps from our Hearts at Home series. These are just so fun and light-hearted, filling a void in our line-up of valentine/love-themed things.
First up, a couple of cards using the Hearts at Home: Sweater. It’s just so sweet! This first card made me think of the floor in my daughter’s closet. 🙂 I scattered several sweaters and hangers along the bottom edge of my card. These were folded (unlike the ones on the floor of my daughter’s closet ) by just scoring and folding.
I hung one of the cute sweaters the hanger from the set on a piece of twine strung between two tiny brads. The tiny hanger might be my favorite part of this set! I cut a whole bunch of them from gold and silver mirror cardstock just because they were so cute all piled up in a little dish. I embellished my sweaters with white pen details and hearts – the larger knit heart from the set, and the tiny hearts are leftovers from the hangers.
My next pair of cards again uses the Hearts at Home: Sweater, with a more typical Valentine color scheme. I created some gingham backgrounds using our Patchwork die – so easy, just choose two shades of cardstock plus white and piece them together to form the gingham. I’ll be sharing a video on Instagram soon of the process I used to make these backgrounds.
Next I used a few of the Hearts at Home dies – the Toaster and the Mugs to create this cute scene. Behind my cluster of breakfast goodies is a Cozy Cup Coaster diecut. The background was done by cutting the Falling Hearts Background from a panel of white cardstock, and layering it over a red card base. The “his” and “hers” on the mugs are separate dies so you can choose whether to use them or not, making these cute little mugs versatile for lots of other occasions as well. And the little toaster? Ack! the little slices of toast slip in the slots, and are just the cutest. There are hearts or pats of butter to add to your toast. The sentiment is from the Hearts at Home Sentiments set
Next up is the adorable Hearts at Home Clock. I paired it with the “I’m yours for all time” sentiment from the Hearts at Home Sentiments set. I created a shaker using the clock die, and filled it with glitter.
I layered that adorable clock over a background that was embossed with the new Falling Hearts Background die. I did have to go over some areas with a stylus after embossing, as some of the connectors in the backing of the die show when embossing with it, but they smoothed out pretty easily. I kept the design simple, just adding a few sprigs of greenery from the Winter Medley die. The sentiment was stamped onto a PreText Banners diecut (all but one of the sentiments from the Hearts at Home Sentiments set fit on the PreText Banners).
Last, but not least, is a fun shaker card using the new Hearts at Home Lightbulb die. I had this card envisioned since I first designed the die, and couldn’t wait to put it together. It worked out just like I had hoped! I diecut the bulb three times from a panel I created with our Shiplap Builder die. I backed this diecut panel with a sheet of acetate. Tip: Before you attach the acetate to your diecut panel, use a pencil to mark the bulb areas on your card base so you know where to sponge the ink and add the filaments. It will be much easier to do it first, ask me how I know. 🙂
To create the shaker, I just outlined the front of my card base with foam tape all around the outer edges to seal in my sequins. Before attaching my front panel, I sponged some ink into the lightbulb areas and also added the filaments, which were cut from gold metallic cardstock. I filled my shaker with some fun gold sequins from my stash. The sentiment is again from the Hearts at Home Sentiments set, heat embossed with copper embossing powder on black cardstock. I also added some copper embossing powder to my bulb bases to distress them a bit. I finished it with some black strips of cardstock to “hang” my bulbs, and small bows which were cut with the Sketched Wildflower Bouquet die.
That concludes my projects for today, but if you’re ready for more, keep scrolling to see more from the team…

Love this collection for Valentine’s Day! When my daughter was little, we were heading to a PT conference and Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time” song came on the radio. She was singing along “Living on Toaster Time”, and it’s sort of stuck in our heads now. That little toaster will be the perfect addition to my craft stash.
