I’m so excited to show you ALL of the projects I created for today’s reveal. I couldn’t stop! I’m not even sure where to start, but let’s dig in with this pretty card duo…
I mentioned before that we have weddings galore this summer/fall and things are really kicking into high gear with fittings, appointments, and showers! I’m hosting a shower next weekend for my nephew’s fiance and her colors are gorgeous rusts and oranges…so perfect for a September wedding. I created this pair of cards with them in mind…one for the shower and the other for their wedding.
First off is the card for her bridal shower. I used the new Sketched Wildflower Bouquet stamp set and matching stencils to add color to the images. I diecut, stamped, and stenciled two bouquets and stacked them up in the lower left corner, trimming off the excess. I stamped a third directly onto my card base using gold ink, just in the upper right corner to balance the design. I added a small sprig that was trimmed off the bottom bouquets to add just a little more color to that top corner. I finished it off with a sentiment from the new Lovely Silhouettes set. Love how this came together! I think I might need to do more of these for some table decor for the shower.
I’ll be holding onto this card for their wedding. I started out with the new Elegant Arches stamp and stamped it onto some rustic white cardstock using a tan ink. I diecut the center using our A2 Arches die and created a “floating” sentiment by covering the opening with clear cardstock, which I then adhered one of our Arched Sentiments to, which was cut with the next smaller die from the A2 Arches set.
For the floral cluster I pulled out lots of different dies from my stash…BotaniCuts Rose, Curio: Autumn Findings, BotaniCuts Wheat, and also some of the new small flowers from the Floral Arches die. I forgot to photograph the inside, but I kept it clean by adhering a second panel with an arch cut from the center and also a second small arch to back the sentiment. It just gives it a nicer finished look on the inside.
For my next card I again used the Elegant Arches stamp, this time paired with the Sketched Wildflower Bouquet stamps and stencils. This time I heat embossed the Elegant Arches onto kraft cardstock using gold embossing powder. I cut the arch using the A2 arches die and also backed it with a second piece that has a slightly smaller arch cut from it.
I placed one of the Sketched Wildflower Bouquets at an angle covering my arch window. This time I used brighter colors with the stencils. I also added a few of the tiny diecut flowers from the new Floral Arches set just to give a little more dimension tot he design.
I’m back into wedding mode for my next card. Besides family members, my kids are also entering the stage of life where their friends are getting married! (how in the world did I get so OLD?!) My daughter already called dibs on this next card for a good friend of hers getting married later this year. For this one, I used the new Sketched Wildflower Frame stamp and heat embossed it with gold onto a panel of watercolor paper.
I did some real loose, imperfect watercoloring of the images…so fun to do! I diecut one of the A2 arches from my watercolored panel. I backed the cut-out with some matching rustic white cardstock and stamped one of the sentiments from our Arched Sentiments set. The “bride & groom” was stamped onto the matching diecut and popped up for some extra dimension. I stamped the Sketched Wildflower Bouquet image onto the flap of an envelope for an easy and elegant finishing touch.
Next I have a little different take on the Elegant Arches stamp. This time instead of putting a sentiment inside the arch, I thought it was also the perfect place to put a beautiful focal point. I once again pulled out my BotaniCuts Rose die and a mix of a few other things (Curio Autumn and BotaniCuts Wheat) to create this pretty bouquet. My son’s wedding colors are dark red and navy and this will be perfect for his fiance for an upcoming shower
Embossing the Elegant Arches onto dark cardstock with metallic embossing powder makes for a really dramatic look! I topped off my bouquet with the little bow and tag from the new Sketched Wildflower Bouquet set.
I’m sure I’ll be needing a few more cards for showers and such, so I stuck with the same dark red and navy color scheme for this next card. This time I pulled out the new Floral Arches stamp + stencil combo. I created an arched card base using the largest die from the A2 Arches set. I cut my card base by folding a piece of cardstock and positioning the die so that the top of the arch was just above the fold so as not to cut through it.
I diecut the large main piece using the Floral Arches die, then stenciled and stamped the design onto the diecut. The arch stencil that’s included in the Floral Arches set is just slightly larger than the arch die that’s included in the matching die set (this arch die the same size as one of the arches from the A2 arches die set). This allows you to stencil the arch inside the floral design, and if you choose to cut it out you are left with just a narrow border that really finishes off the design, which is what I did here. To add even more interest to the design, I had a second Floral Arches design that had I kind of mucked up and nearly tossed, but decided it was perfect to snip apart and layer under the arch so it extends inside the arch and around the sentiment. The “congratulations” sentiment is from the new Lovely Silhouettes set.
Next up is another Floral Arches card. This time I used it to create a thank you card by pairing it with the thank you sentiment from the new Arched Sentiments set.
For some extra interest around the sentiment I added some of the individual little blooms, diecut with the Floral Arches die. Love how that turned out! You can also layer them over the stenciled/stamped design if you’d like to use them that way. I used a few of them this way on the previous card.
For my next card, I wanted to play around a little more with the idea of filling the INSIDE of the arch with the Floral Arches set, similar to what I did on the red and blue card above, but this time going all out to fill the inside of the arch, so that’s what I did here for a pretty birthday card.
I again created an arched card base using the same method I mentioned above. Then I diecut, stenciled, and stamped one of the Floral Arches designs. It was realllly hard to start cutting it apart, but I took a deep breath and went for it! Here is a pic of my pretty floral frame all snipped apart…
Then I went to work filling in the inside of an arched frame, which was also cut with the A2 Arches die. It was really easy to just go around and fill in with these little floral bits. They have a nice “flow” to them, and it came together easily! I finished it off with the “happy birthday” sentiment from the new Arched Sentiments set, this time I omitted the matching arched phrase and just used the main happy birthday on its own.
Next I have several projects using the Lovely Silhouettes images along with the Color Spots stencils (and a few other new goodies here and there!). These are so fun for quick and easy projects!
Up first is a set of super sweet and tiny enclosure cards. I again used the idea of created an arched card base. This time I used one of the smaller arches from the set, which is the perfect size to fit in an enclosure sized envelope (these are 2-3/4″ x 4″).
I kept these super simple and sweet. I stenciled an arch using the Color Spots stencil and added a sprig or two from the Lovely Silhouettes set. Each one is topped off with a bow and sentiment from the Sketched Wildflower Bouquet set.
Tying them up in a little bundle would make a great little gift. The envelope flaps were stamped with the Sketched Wildflower Bouquet image using white ink, and is just a fun little detail to make everything coordinated.
Up next is a quick and easy card that would be perfect for a wedding, anniversary, or shower. I simply stenciled a couple of the shapes from the Color Spots stencil using soft pink and tan inks. I used the largest flower image from the new Lovely Silhouettes set and heat embossed it with gold over the stenciled shapes. The sentiment is also from Lovely Silhouettes, and is the perfect way to finish off this simple card.
My next card uses the same basic concept, but stepped up a little! I once again created a background using the Color Spots stencil, but this time used more shapes and more colors, overlapping the shapes…I love how the ink colors overlap as well for a really interesting effect!
Once I was happy with my stenciled background (I also added some splatters with gold metallic paint), I added some Lovely Silhouettes images. This time I added more color to the images by sponging them with finger sponge daubers so I could use different colors on the blooms and the stems. I arranged them over my stenciling and popped them up with foam. The “hello” sentiment is from the new Arched Sentiments set, I used just the “hello” on its own and embossed it with white embossing powder.
Last but not least, I thought the stenciled Color Spots would make great places for the Curio dies! I stenciled some spots in autumn colors, then pulled out my Curio: Autumn Findings die and arranged a few on my stenciled spots.
To add some lightness I also added a few of the tiny blooms from the new Floral Arches die. Once again the sentiment is from the Arched Sentiments set. You could do something similar with any of the Curio sets, and I’m sure I will have fun looking for other things to layer over these Color Spots!
I hope you enjoyed taking a look at today’s projects as much as I enjoyed creating them!
Now that you’ve gotten to meet all of today’s new products and see them in action, you can “greet” them for a chance to win a prize! We’ll be giving away TWO $50 gift cards for today’s blog hop.
