Happy TGIF! I’m back for this week’s TGIF. It seems my trend towards food-themed projects continues. Maybe we should just start calling this Foodie Fridays. 😊
I have a fun project today, inspired by some real life events. This week we hosted our church youth group for one course of a progressive dinner. We were in charge of serving the salad/appetizer course. Knowing most teens’ aversion to anything green, we put on our thinking caps and decided to put together a charcuterie board (don’t worry, I had to google how to pronounce it too 😊). If you spend any amount of time on Pinterest, you’ve probably seen this trend…gorgeous boards filled with meats and cheeses, fruits and veggies, and more. The concept has expanded to other themes too. I’ve seen amazing waffle boards, donut boards, and more. So fun!
Here is our charcuterie board before the teens dug in (yes, those are pepperoni roses and no, that’s not real wine 😁)…
Inspired by the whole concept of charcuterie boards, I decided to create a card version using some of our foodie images. Plus I was looking for an excuse to make something summery (it’s time for winter to go away!), so I pulled out our BotaniCuts Strawberries die and the Lemon Blossom set.
A slimline card seemed like the natural choice for this idea, so I pulled out our Crimped Slimline die and cut the largest layer from that set from white cardstock. Then I needed my “board”, so I pulled out my Shiplap Builder die and covered a long strip of cardstock with the Shiplap Builder planks.
Then I went to town layering the lemons, strawberries, leaves, and flowers from both of the sets until my board was nice and full. I finished it off by simply stamping a sentiment along the bottom using a sentiment from the Fresh Air set.
I love it when life inspires my crafting ventures. What’s inspiring you these days? I’d love to hear!

I LOVE the card! I have also been seeing the charcuterie on Pinterest and was at a baby shower where they also used that last week! I bet the teens loved it! What a good idea for our church teen weekend when we do a lunch!
Cool post! Great job!

What a fabulous idea! I was thinking of combining the strawberries and peaches! Thanks for the inspiration.
Great idea and card!
What a beautiful card!
Fabulous idea! 💗💗💗
Both the card and charcuterie board look delicious, Betsy! It’s so clever!
So pretty. Love the story behind your beautiful creation, too. 🙂
That table is jaw dropping beautiful. I bet they were over the moon about those roses. I am crazy for the strawberries right now! I also have been using the Wild Flower mix because I am growing so tired of snow and grey days. Needing a pick me up as this winter slowly moves on. Lovely job! TFS
JUST BEAUTIFUL,Betsy! I LOVE both your table & your card! Your table makes me think of the Toppas Bars that used to be popular. And your card DEFINATELY says good bye to winter! I TOO LOVE your Strawberries!!! What’s inspiring me these days??? ORCHIDS!!!! ;)<3
Beautiful!!
Beautiful!
Love this happy card♥️
Wow! Both your real life and paper versions of your charcuterie boards are amazing! That Shiplap Builder die is one I recently purchased, it is serious addictive fun to create shiplap. Thank you for your previously released shiplap tutorial video–I really got me off to a great start.
Wow! Both of those boards look good – the edible and non-edible one. I really like the card – the colors so bright and cheery and beautiful. Thank you for sharing both of these! What did the youth group think?
Bright and fun with a dose of sunshine and vitamin C radiating from this sweet card! And, a great idea to use the charcuterie board as inspiration! I was inspired to create a lot of Valentine’s Day cards for our local senior living facilities. Two dozen cards made with Greetery products were sent to brighten someone’s day. I LOVE the Botanicut Wildflowers set! And rather than make them all with the different flower heads, I substituted different sized hearts that fit each of the stems – then tucked my little heartfelt floral arrangements inside the enveloped from Signed & Sealed. I just can’t put away that red after Christmas! Beautiful products, Betsy!
This is amazing, as is your delightful real-life charcuterie board!
I bet they had a lot of fun with your board, I thought where do you begin? But teenagers don’t usually have that problem. It’s the first charcuterie board I’ve seen, can we say I need to spend some time on Pinterest!? You did a wonderful job Betsy!
Just finished 11 Strawberry botanicuts thank you cards. While making them, I was thinking of your lemons and peaches and how I could create a fruit basket. TGIF! I Love your card! You’ve already inspired me. You’re literally quite amazing! 😊
Wonderful ideas and designs, including the signs on your real life board. A touch of summer sounds lovely.
You do color like no other! Beautiful Slimline bulging with goodness.
Absolutely stunning!
Looks so yummy I could just dig into this card. ha. Can’t wait for your next release.
Oh my good golly, my Friday just got a whole lot brighter! Such a gloriously colorful greeting. I think the smile on my face will last through the weekend! Beautiful and inspiring!!!
Betsy, this is amazing…both your card and your charcuterie board! Your attention to detail doesn’t stop with cards! I’m sure the teens appreciated it, even if it wasn’t spoken. They do take note and how fun to infuse your creativity into the next generation and motivate them to do their best and be creative. Thanks for sharing the back story to your wonderful card.
Mouthwatering! I too am ready for spring and summer and have been crafting up all the flowers I can.
WOW, Betsy, what a feast for one’s eyes with your charcuterie board for teens! Your board full of fruits, florals and leaves with that shiplap board and crimped edges definitely sends sunshine. Love this post, Betsy, and TGIF!
