Now that we’ve seen today’s new products, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some projects! Before we get there, however, we have a few videos to link up!
First up, Angelica is joining us on our Youtube channel today and she’s showcasing the new Pine Wisp and Cathedral die and stencils. I love seeing her project come together!
I also have a video today, showing you the new Winterberry Bouquet set in action!
Now for the rest of today’s projects! I love wintery floral projects, and had so much fun creating with today’s products. First up is a pair of cards using several of today’s introductions…
[imagelinks id=”345″]
This first card was really pretty quick to put together, thanks to the stencils in the Winterberry Bouquet set. I stenciled the design right onto a panel of white cardstock, then used the stamps the add the additional details to the berries and leaves. I also used the masking stencil to sponge some blue/green onto the background after my berry bouquet was finished. Lots of paint splatters add to the snowy feeling. The sentiment was hot foiled using the new Abundant Joy hot foil. The smaller script sentiment is from the new Opposites Attract Holiday set – there is a smaller “joy” word in that stamp set, so there are a handful of the script sentiments that coordinate with the Abundant Joy as well.
The next card from this pair uses the new Cathedral die and stencil set to create a stained glass look for a pretty focal point. I wanted to give it a bit of a rustic feel, so I pulled out my Shiplap Builder die to create the background. I diecut the Cathedral die from white cardstock and gave it a weathered wood look using the same method I showed in this video. I used the Cathedral stencil set to add all of the color to a solid Cathedral diecut. The outer outline and inner window cuts can be used independently from each other, giving you lots of different options.
Tip: to create a realistic feeling of light coming through the glass, shade the bottom of each window pane with a slightly darker color to give an ombre look. I finished it off with a small cluster of greens and berries using the Winterberry Bouquet set and some sprigs cut with the new Pine Wisp die. I love how realistic they are! The sentiment is from the new Opposites Attract Holiday set.
My next card uses the same pretty color scheme…I was stuck on these bright red berries and blue-green leaves. I just love the combo! I started with a white card base, then used the inner cuts from the Cathedral die to cut the window pane cut-outs from my card front.
This time I diecut my Winterberry Bouquet so I could intertwine the branches into the window panes. I sandwiched my bouquet diecut between the peek-a-boo card front and a Cathedral window frame diecut. I topped it off with some sentiments from the new Opposites Attract Holiday set and some snowflakes cut with a die we’ll be showcasing tomorrow.
My next card is super simple – just a Winterberry Bouquet stenciled and stamped onto a Crimped Frame diecut with a foiled Abundant Joy sentiment. Super quick and easy, and would be great for mass producing!
I was loving the red berries because they’re just so Christmasy, but I wanted to try creating these Winterberry Bouquets in some other colors as well! For this next card I stenciled and stamped the large berry bouquet in coral-y pinks and greens. I added a small cluster of red as well as some Pine Wisp branches. It still feels Christmasy, but soft and pretty at the same time.
For the Sentiment, I used the Abundant Joy die and cut both layers from white cardstock. I layered them with foam tape for some pretty dimension, and topped it off with the “Christmas” sentiment from Opposites Attract Holiday. The background was stenciled with our Tartan Builder Diagonal stencil set in shades of blue and green.
After creating the card above, I had a strip of my stenciled plaid left, and I couldn’t bear to see it go to waste! I decided to stencil the Winterberry Bouquet in shades of green and blue to match my plaid.
I added lots of gold paint splatters, and used the “joy” sentiment from the Opposites Attract set, stamped three times in blues and greens (plus a gold heat embossed version) to match my berries. As finishing touch, I added a pretty diecut strip cut with the Macrame Borders & Tassels die.
Since nothing says Christmas quite like things that shimmer and shine, so I wanted to create a card using today’s new products paired with our Deco Triangles hot foil background. This would be so pretty on a dark background too!
After I foiled a panel of white cardstock, I added the Joy sentiment with the new Abundant Joy die, and surrounded it with berry sprigs from Winterberry Bouquet, and pine sprigs cut with the new Pine Wisp die. I added some shimmery snowflake sequins you’ll be seeing more of tomorrow!
For my next project, I wanted to create a bouquet of wintery greens. I pulled out my BotaniCuts Pine Bough die we released a few years ago (still a favorite!) and paired it with the new Pine Wisp die. I love the mix of different textures when using these two dies together! It reminds me so much of making holiday centerpieces when I worked as a floral designer. I feel like I should have sticky fingers full of pine sap! 😂
[imagelinks id=”350″]
I built my pine bouquet on a Crimped Slimline base, cut from black cardstock. I left some of the Pine Bough diecuts white, and coated them with glitter. The other sprigs were all sponged with a variety of green Oxide inks. The stems were colored with brown colored pencils. After assembling all of my diecuts into a pretty spray, I added just a few tiny red blooms, cut with the BotaniCuts Wildflower Mix die. I also added some snowy white paint splatters. I topped it of with an Abundant Joy diecut – I diecut it from a metallic copper paper for the letters, and a dark gray for the backer. In the center of the “O” I stamped a tiny Merry Christmas sentiment from our Sentiment Suite: Christmas set.
My final card today is one that I was envisioning when I first designed the Cathedral die and stencils. I wanted to create a glowing window with a night sky. The church I grew up in had a window just like this. It was in the back of the sanctuary, and clearly visible from the stage in front, where we stood as Sunday school kids giving our Christmas eve program. Always such a special night…my favorite as a kid, and still to this day!
The background for this card is a single layer, using just the Cathedral stencils. I sponged around the outer edge of the window with Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire inks. The inside of the window was sponged with Fossilized Amber and shaded with Rusty Hinge. I added the sentiment using the Opposites Attract Holiday set. I also added some white pine branches using our BotaniCuts Pine Bough die and coated them with glitter for lots of sparkle. I added some heat embossed white stars to the background, as well as the Bethlehem star using a new set we’ll be showcasing tomorrow.
That concludes my projects using today’s new introductions. I so hope you enjoyed taking a peek at them!
