Stationery Box die
Our first product introduction is a fitting first, since it was the inspiration for the whole Nouveau Notes collection! Angelica Conrad, a member of our Inspiration Team, designed this wonderful die for creating the perfect box for wrapping up a set of cards. It’s simple to put together, and gives such a finished, polished look to a set of cards, perfect for gift-giving.

The construction of the box is simple. Just cut two of the main box panel and use the half-circle detail to cut a decorative edge from what will be the front panel of the box, as shown in the photo below. This will allow the contents of the box to be visible and more accessible.
From there the box goes together easily, simply by adhering the two panels together along the side tabs, closing up the bottom flaps, and attaching the rounded flap/lid. This flap is the perfect place to stamp a sentiment or embellish in any way you desire. To make a smaller box that fits our new square notecard dies (introduced below) just trim the panels down before assembling or diecutting the half-circle detail from the front panel. The flap/lid can be secured with magnets to create an easy way to open and close the box.
Angelica has put together a video for you, showcasing this new die…
Crimped & Deco Notecard dies
As mentioned above, the Stationery Box die can easily be trimmed down to fit a set of 4″ square notecards. These two new dies are the perfect starting point for a set of handmade notecards! The Crimped Notecard is a wonderful basic, while the Deco Notecard is filled with beautiful details.

Deco Triangles Hot Foil Plate + Deco Triangles Stencil
We have a new-to-us product type coming to the shop – a hot foil plate! If you’ve never tried hot foiling, it is fun and easy and simply beautiful (Laurie will be doing a demo during the Instagram Live). We’re kicking off this new product type with a full-sized background plate featuring a versatile geometric design. It’s perfect for layering under florals, or makes wonderful masculine designs as well. It’s generously sized (slightly larger than an A2 panel), allowing for easy alignment.
If you’d like to add a bit of color to your hotfoil design, we are also releasing a Deco Triangles stencil. This stencil can be used along with the Deco Triangles hot foil plate, or it can be used on its own as well.

**Note: to create metallic effects, hot foil plates need to be used with a foiling system (such as the Glimmer Hot Foil System by Spellbinders), but they can also be used to create letterpress effects simply by inking the plate with a brayer and running it through a standard diecut machine.
New Accessories – Magnets, Envelopes, and Pretty Pens
We have a handful of new accessories coming to the shop as well, to help you complete the look and create projects that are beautifully coordinated. We have mixed-color packs of envelopes in both A2 and 4″ square sizes, a set of pretty felt-tip pens, and magnet discs to use as a closure for the Stationery Box die.

I loved working with these new products and have lots of details to share! First up is a complete ensemble of A2 cards, envelopes, and more using lots of today’s new products.

I really had fun pulling everything together into a cohesive set that would be perfect for gift-giving. It starts with a box made with the new Stationery Box die. I hot-foiled the front using the new Deco Triangles plate. The generous size of this plate makes it useable on the front of the box, which is slightly larger than an A2 card. I used the die that matches the “made with love” sentiment from the Handmade Labels set to do a bit of masking of my foiled design. (This works the same way you would mask while stamping – just place the diecut scrap paper over the area you don’t want to foil.) This left the area where I wanted to add the stamped sentiment unfoiled. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder to match my foiling. You can see I added some disc magnets on the flap and front of the box for a closure.
This photo shows the box closed. I embellished the rounded flap of the lid with the bouquet from the Floral Delicacy set. All of the stamping for this ensemble was done with the same ink colors. I used Oxide inks (Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Bundled Sage, and Rustic Wilderness) as well as a gray ink from VersaFine Clair called Morning Mist, and black ink for the flower stamens. As I often like to do, I also added some additional shading to the images with colored pencils.
I created four different A2 card designs to put into my box, and had fun playing with the various elements from this collection to create different designs that still go well together. This first card is my favorite of the bunch, and it was easy to do. I started off with the largest rectangle from the new Deco Frames set and stamped the Floral Delicacy bouquet twice. I used my MISTI and got an idea of where I wanted the bouquets positioned by using a few of the matching bouquet diecuts. I stamped each step of the bouquet, then rotated my Deco rectangle 180 degrees and stamped again. I did that for each step of the bouquet, and the end result was a double bouquet that fills my card front. I added a heat embossed sentiment from the new Everyday Labels set over the top of the stamped bouquets. This would be a great design for doing multiples!
The next card in the set again uses the bouquet from the Floral Delicacy set – two of them this time as well, but stamped onto the matching diecut instead, and layered over a Deco Triangles hot foil background. I again used the Everyday Labels stamp set to add the sentiment, this time layered on a matching diecut using the Handmade Labels die. Here you can also see how I used a sentiment from the Handmade Labels set to stamp the envelope flaps. The circle seals were made by diecutting a sheet of sticker paper using the smallest die from the Crimped Circles set. I stamped it with one of the postmark images from the Pretty Postmarks set and a flower sprig from Floral Delicacy.
The last two of the four cards feature hot-foiled Deco Triangles backgrounds – one on gray, and one on pink. I am addicted to foiling! It’s so easy and looks so professional! Over the foiled backgrounds I added sentiments from the Everyday and Handmade Labels stamp sets, and embellished them with the individual blooms from the Floral Delicacy set. The card on the left also uses the medium rectangle from the new Deco Frames set.
It all comes together in such a pretty ensemble!
I was completely addicted to the color scheme I used on the A2 set I just showed you, so I used the same colors to create a set of boxed notecards. As I mentioned above in the product introductions, the Stationery Box die works perfectly for wrapping up a set of 4″ square notecards as well. Just trim down the box before assembling. I trimmed mine down to 4-1/4″ high (not including the bottom box flap) so that my cards and envelopes tuck nicely inside the box.
The four notecards in the set are all the same, with just a bit of switching up of the ink colors from one bouquet to the next. I used the bouquet from the Floral Delicacy set, and also added in a few of the individual blooms from the set to further fill out the design. The base for the cards is the pretty new Deco Notecard die.
The box front was hot foiled with the Deco Triangles plate. This time I added a bit of color by using just one of the stencils from the Deco Triangles stencil set. You can choose to add as little or as much color to the geometric design as you’d like, using as many of the four-step stencils needed to get your desired look. Here I used just one stencil. I stamped the Floral Delicacy bouquet onto the flap, but this time just used shades of pink for a tone-on-tone look. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Handmade Labels stamp set, and once again used magnet discs to keep the lid closed.
Next I have just a single card to share as well. I wanted to break out some bright ink colors to see what the pretty Florall Delicacy bouquet looks like stamped in a brighter mix of colors!
I used the bouquet from the set and layered it over two Deco Frames rectangles. I embellished the bottom with individual blooms from the set. The sentiment is from the Everyday Labels stamp set, stamped onto a matching Handmade Labels die.
In the background of my photo above, you can also see a fun panel I created with the Deco Triangles Hot Foil and matching stencil. I thought I’d show you a few options you have with this stencil, which can be used alone, or paired with the matching Deco Triangles Hot Foil plate.’
The 5-piece Deco Triangles stencil set includes one stencil with an overall design, which can be used to create quick background like the one on the left in the photo below. Alternatively, you can use the other 4 stencils to create multi-color designs – the same design is broken down into four separate stencils, allowing you to easily create multi-color designs, no masking needed.
You can of course also use it with the matching Deco Triangles hot foil to add color – as little or as much as you’d like. You can add just spots of color using one or two stencils, or color the whole design using all four, like the example on the left in the photo below.
I had fun playing around with the Deco Triangles Hot Foil and matching stencil set to create a set of cards with a much different look and feel than the other projects in today’s post! I thought it would be perfect for creating a more masculine looking set.
I started off by choosing four different colors of dark cardstock from my stash. I hot foiled each with the Deco Triangles plate and pewter foil. Then I used just two of the stencils from the matching Deco Triangles stencil set and inked them. I used the same two ink colors for all four cards – Black Soot Distress Oxide and a white pigment ink. Even though I used the same ink colors, they look so different, depending on the cardstock color showing through underneath!
To finish off the set, I diecut all four labels from the Handmade Labels die set using a dark gray cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiments from the Everyday Labels set onto their matching diecuts and heat embossed them with a copper embossing powder. For a final finishing touch, I hot foiled the envelope flaps using the same pewter foil and the smoke envelopes from the Nouveau Notes A2 envelope packs. This was a very fun project that was definitely outside of my norm! 🙂

So beautiful and it allows us to make beautiful note cards for gifts. Love the introduction of hot foil plates
Such beautiful florals and love the box to make and give sets!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL cards Betsy! I love, LOVE the look of the foil and just recently bought a machine to do this, but must admit I am struggling to lay my foil and then cardstock down on top of the hot foil plate and not have it move around, thus causing my whole design to be crooked on the cardstock. I would love if you have any tips on how you get everything so straight on your projects! A video on this would be wonderful too! Again, your projects are all wonderful and I’m excited to play with all these new stamps and dies. :0)
