Happy Friday! It’s time for our weekly dose of Friday inspiration, but before we get to that, a bit of fun news! We have some new products heading to the shop next week! We’ll be sharing sneak peeks and a day of projects before the new products go up in the shop next Friday, August 13.
And now let’s turn it over to Norine for all of the details of the beautiful project she has for you today!
Hello Greetery friends! It’s another Greetery Inspiration Friday, and I’m happy to be back to share a pretty little card incorporating bits and pieces from some of the older Greetery products! My goal was to create a visual of opening an envelope and having tumble of flowers pour out!
I began with a lightly inked Shiplap die cut background, adhered to a card panel and folded card base. Then I stamped and die cut an envelope from heavy weight white cardstock. I stamped the outline in grey/brown ink and a liner in blue, visible only faintly behind the flower bouquet.
I stamped a variety of flower images from the Merry Sprigs, Print Shop Fresh Floral, Simple Things and Print Shop: Floral Frames stamp sets, then die cut them all and used a few to create the bouquet. (Some left over for next time is always a good thing!) I used the Pretty Postmarks sets to stamp and die cut the blue postage stamp. (I notice in the shop, that the Pretty Postmarks stamp set is out of stock, so fingers crossed for it’s return soon)
I arranged the various flowers and leaves into a gracious bouquet and taped them on the backside of the envelope die cut. With the shiplap planks, and the envelope and stamp positioned at a slant, I wanted at least the greeting to be oriented as close to perfectly horizontal as possible.
To accomplish that, I laid the envelope onto the card front, with all the components lightly tacked in place, then positioned the sentiment stamps on the envelope, lining them up with a T-square ruler butted against the left side of the card. Then I removed the envelope and put it (with bouquet) into the MISTI, and picked up the perfectly placed sentiment stamps by closing the door of the MISTI down onto the envelope. I like how it provides a solid focal point in the midst of everything else all tilted and askew!
It’s a pretty basic card design, just a little time consuming to stamp and die cut all the flowers, but if you keep an envelope of leftovers from other projects, you’re already halfway there!
I hope you like my card today; thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great weekend!
cheers, Norine

How can I pin this to my Greetery board? I can find the pin button. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Thanks for the idea to add to Pinterest. I took a screen shot of the card. Then went to my photos and shared it to Pinterest. Hope this helps.
Hi Donna – the first image of Norine’s card is not in a pinnable format as it contains all of the links to the products she used, but the other images are pinnable as usual. If you have the Pinterest extension added to your browser you can hover over the image and the pin button will display, or right click on the image (you’ll see the save to Pinterest option), or click on the Pinterest icon at the top of your browser bar. I hope that helps!
Beautiful card!
Love this. Could you possibly do a video to show how you inked the ship lap? I am struggling with getting it to look authentic. Thank!!
Hi Jennifer! My technique probably differs from Norine’s, but I did a blog post and video about creating wood-look shiplap. HERE is a link to that blog post and HERE is a direct link to the video.
Exquisite
Absolutely stunning! Oh my, a ‘save the date’ alert! You have my attention!
Lovely card!
Beautiful, love the shiplap on an angle and the flowers are lovely!
Norine, your card is just stunning! I love it!!
Lovely design with such soothing color choices! And, the tormentingly tempting image of the next product reveal. Looking very forward to seeing more…
I love this card with all the texture you created! The Shiplap dies and Pretty Postmarks are two of my all-time favorites and, of course, who doesn’t love flowers. Thanks for this wonderful inspiration!
Beautiful card, Norine! Love your style :). Can’t wait for next week, Betsy!
Gorgeous card! I love it!
Gorgeous!!!!!!
An oldie but a goodie…. love the color Norine. It is so fun to get the older things out and play again. Thanks for making us think…
I had a verrrry busy day yesterday but first thing this morning I am thoroughly enjoying your card Norine. Believe it or not, when I saw your card, I had some of the same visual thoughts. I visioned opening the envelope, standing on your shiplap (floor) and when opening, the flowers fell out. I just love, love your lovely card. One of the many reasons I love The Greetery is how the products are interchangeable. Thank you for explaining the sentiment placement and a wonderful TGIF. P.S. Betsy, The save a date is on my calendar!
Your design is lovely. I wanted to ask if you adhered the shiplap pieces to a piece of scor-tape to place them so close together and then place on the card base? Also wondered at what stage you inked the edges of the shiplap? Thank you for any help.
Forgive me I just read a post where you answered my questions and am watching the shiplap video again. Thanks.
So excited to see Nouveau Notes!
Fabulous shiplap background, it’s so eye catching paired with these gorgeous florals!
Another release…..omg…..haven’t even seen it yet…..another sleepless night figuring out how much money I’ll spend on this one……can you say ADDICTED!
This is so pretty
