Hi all. I wanted to pop in with a few things today. First of all, I hope you are all staying well and safe. It’s a crazy world right now and everything feels topsy-turvy. My kids are home from school for the foreseeable future, as I’m sure many of yours are as well, if you still have children at home. We’ll be adjusting to a new normal, that will hopefully be over before we know it. But while we’re in it, I hope we can care for each other and lend support to our neighbors near and far. We’re in this together!
In the meantime, we’ll be making the best of it and hopefully even having a little fun here on the blog. Crafting and being creative can be a wonderful escape and always help to calm my mind and spirit. I know many of you feel the same. So, unless there’s a major change over the next week (things do feel very fluid at the moment) we’ll be carrying on with the countdown and release of our latest collection called Fresh Air.
When I was working on this collection and came up with the name and Fresh Air concept, I had no idea how fitting it might be, and how we might all be longing for some Fresh Air, in more ways than one! Hopefully it can provide a little bright spot in your day. We’ll begin later this week with some sneak peeks, and then three full days of projects and reveals next week before the products go up in the shop on Friday. If anything about this timeline changes, we’ll be sure to let you know.
While we’re at it, we’re not really having fun unless there’s a sale, right? For the next two days, we’ll be having a flash sale on a few of our Easter items. If you haven’t had the chance to start on your Easter cards and projects yet, now’s your chance to pick up a couple of new things. Our Easter Jubilee Creative Kit and Caring Cross stamp + stencil and die are 20% off now through Wednesday night at 11:59pm CDT. Use the code SPRING20 at checkout to receive the discount.
Here are a few galleries filled with projects from our Inspiration Team using these two products. First is Caring Cross…
And Easter Jubilee…
Before I go, I have a new project that I created last week using Caring Cross. I shared it on Instagram, but I thought I’d share it here, too. I’m afraid it’s only a partial Make & Tell Tuesday, with an emphasis on the Make, and not so much Tell. 🙂 Long story short, some loaned out video equipment did not get returned as expected when classes didn’t resume after spring break because of the shut-downs. I thought I’d go ahead and share this project anyway, sans video.

So I started with a panel of heavy-weight Yupo paper, and created an alcohol ink background using Copic inks and Pinata Metallic Brass ink. Once it was completely dry, I diecut the cross that is just the two pieces, not the solid cross, from the panel. I stamped it with palm branch and heat embossed it with gold powder, and then heat embossed the berries with white powder. I added the Happy Easter embossed sentiment along the bottom to finish it off. Before adding it to a card base, I also diecut the cross pieces from the card base so that my card front would have a cross-shaped window in the front. I’ve had several of you ask what that little two-piece cross die is for, and this is one way you can use that die. I used the leftover pieces cut from the alcohol ink background to create a matching bookmark by layering those pieces over a solid cross diecut, which was also stamped with the palm and heat embossed with gold.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Stay well and stay safe! ❤️

Thanks for sharing all of the beautiful cards, Betsy! It’s a lovely start to the day 🙂
This is beautiful, Betsy! I woke up yesterday expecting to see sneak peeks and then realized that I was a week early. Time sure is dragging by. I am anxiously awaiting your Fresh Air reveal and release.
I woke up this morning and thought, wouldn’t it be nice to see something from Betsy today, to cheer us all up! I was so excited to see your beautiful card with the cross, to remind us to look to Jesus during these hard times. God knew just what we needed!❤️
Such a beautiful card! Totally confused on the two part cross though. Look forward to a video in the future with more explanation. Oh, I know others have mentioned this but, would you ever consider a full alphabet set of the Easter letters? They are beautiful! Take care and I wish you and your family safe and healthy days ahead!
Sandy – with the two part cross die, think of it as using the part that’s left – the negative portion, not the actual cut pieces, to create a window like I did here. It leaves the part of the cross in the center that gets stamped on intact. But then of course you can use the two pieces that the die cuts as well. I used them here to make the matching bookmark by layering them over the solid cross diecut from the set. Does that help at all? 🙂
Beautiful and spiritually healing card. Stay well everyone…follow Betsys advice to care for others and advice from the WHO and CDC. We will get through this but it’ll take a few months. 😷
Another breathtaking WOW…..so many cards…..that I LOVE…..it’s hard to keep up….just when I think, ok, now I have all I want and need so let’s make cards! You come up with more beautiful stuff! I want, I want, I want! I’m still turning out cards from Petite Place and Oh Deer because they are favorites…..*sigh…..
What a feast for the eyes this post was! So colorful and spring-y. We will all get through this with diligence, patience, and kindness. This too shall pass.
Catherine, “This too shall pass” is something I’ve said to all 4 of my children since I was a young mother, and now they’re passing it along to their children. My 2nd eldest gave me a magnet with the saying, and I think it’s especially fitting in these times. I loved your comment! 😊
HOW BEAUTIFUL!!!! EVERYTHING IS!!!! I see the DT’s cards & yours & ALWAYS WONDER, “WHY can’t I think of these things????” LOL CAN’T WAIT to see the new Fresh Air Release! & YES, DO STAY WELL there!!! ;)<3
All the cards are beautiful.
I haven’t heard of using Copic markers this way. Did you use reinkers, blending fluid? Could you explain more? I love the colors you used!
I used refills along with isopropyl alcohol – look into “alcohol ink art” and you’ll be in for a treat. 🙂 The Copic inks are of course alcohol based, so when you mix them with the isopropyl alcohol and move them around the paper by blowing, etc, the colors move and blend and create beautiful effects! I’ve just started dabbling and am in no way an expert, but there are some amazingly talented people that do beautiful things with this technique! You do need to use special paper so that the ink stays on the surface rather than sinking into the paper. I used Yupo, but I believe there are other alternatives.
Just beautiful, hope you and your family stay well! Looking forward to the new release!
Thanks for the caring words today Betsy. Checking in on your blog is not only fun but helps me to feel some normalcy. I’m so behind the times in the different mediums, but always admire your beautiful work & truly keeps me inspired. So I’m taking a deep breath & looking forward to your Fresh Air Collection. ( love the name!). This is the best part of social media! GOD bless. 😊
so very pretty
