Good evening! I’m popping in a little later than usual, but it’s still Tuesday, right? We spent the morning getting the rest of the release orders out the door. I really wanted to squeeze in this tutorial for a Make & Tell Tuesday, so it’s coming a little later in the day, but I didn’t think you’d mind!
This card was a favorite of mine (and may of yours!) from last week’s countdown. The outline images from the Winter Sketches set really do make this easier than it looks. The black watercolor paper with the metallic watercolors is so dramatic and it just pops!

Here’s the video for you – enjoy!
Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving, and if you have to travel, stay safe! The weather sounds like it’s going to be a bear for many of us!

One of my favorite of your cards – so happy to watch you create this. I’m afraid my random dots will look more like an aphid attack – LOL. What I learn and relearn every time I watch you is the lightest touch of paint is beautiful and it isn’t necessary to paint in like a crayon – such a hard thing not to do. Thanks!
THANK YOU, BETSY!!!! This card, WAS one of my favorites! LOL My order will arrive soon & so, I am HAPPY that I’ll get to play! You’ve inspired me for something else here too, with what you’ve done!!! 😉 HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you & yours & stay SAFE!!! ;)<3
I just think this is beautiful on the black
This is stunning, Betsy! Who knew there was a black water color paper? Thanks so much for showing us how to do it. I can’t wait to try.
Oh, thank you so much for posting the video! This was my favorite card. I can hardly wait to get my happy mail so I can make some of these. I do have the black watercolor paper. But for anyone else who’s wondering, this does work on good quality black or navy card stock. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you get to rest & let someone else do the cooking. 🙂
This is so incredibly beautiful. I can’t wait to try it. Congrats on the sunflower dies getting a mention on Jennifer McGuire’s favorite dies of 2019.
Strikingly beautiful, Betsy! Your ‘Winter’s Song’ collection is filled with so many lovely botanicals. You worked extra hard to ship so quickly. My order arrived on Monday morning! I have reserved a few hours of quiet, creative time tomorrow… and can’t wait to play! Many thanks for today’s video. So grateful for your talent, inspiration, and generosity (and the lovely surprise!). Thanksgiving blessings to you and your family, dear Betsy!💗
Wow – this is just amazing!!
Thank you Betsy! Happy Thanksgiving! Glad we are staying home, we are supposed to get quite a bit of rain here in Southern California.
Wow that is gorgeous against the black, thanks for sharing a great way to color it! I have just recently heard of black water color paper myself.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us on this busy holiday week. My goodies are due to arrive today and I am so anxious to play. Your card is beautiful and you provide us with the confidence that we too can be successful with new techniques. Enjoy the rest of your week with you family.

Thanks Betsy, for showing us how you did this amazing card! Especially since you’re so busy packaging orders. Makes me look forward even more to what’s coming in the mail!
Hi Betsy! I did drop by yesterday, I just didn’t RE-drop by. Lol. (Actually I usually do). When I first saw your card during the reveal, I was in total amazement. It’s the most beautiful Christmas card I think I’ve ever seen. I’m always very grateful for your tutorial videos because besides learning a lot, it helps to make projects less intimidating. Since you started the Greetery, I’ve been more productive than ever. Your designs are a joy to work with. Thank you for everything Betsy and may you & your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving! 😊
Fabulous! I’m going to experiment until my goodies arrive. Move over Bob Ross, we’ve got Betsy with her detailed techniques, soothing voice and great talents. This is a stunner!

Thank you oodles for this video using the new Winter Sketches stamp. I have black watercolor paper and will do my utmost to replicate on my own..
Beautiful card Betsy! Just curious what you added the sentiment with? Is it a white ink pad, embossing powder?
Thank you for sharing this tutorial.
