It’s Tuesday and I have another fun announcement for you! Last week we kicked off a new (our first ever) regular blog feature called TGIF. Today I’m announcing another new blog feature called Make & Tell Tuesday!
On Tuesdays, I’ll share a project and a video showing at least some aspect of how it was created. My goal is to make this a regular feature, but fair warning, it may not happen every week. Being a small company, there are lots of things to handle, as I’m sure you can imagine. So it may not happen every Tuesday, especially during busy times, but I’ll give it my best!
Today’s first Make & Tell Tuesday features a couple of cards made by combining the Fir & Foliage No. 1 & No. 2 sets together for some pretty autumn cards. Are you fully into Christmas mode, or are you still finishing up some fall projects? I can’t bring myself to put away the autumn things just yet, and combining these two sets has been on my mind for awhile!

This first card uses several trees to create a pretty scene. I simply sponged a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink onto the background before adding the trees, which were stamped onto the matching dies so they could be layered. I also added a few splatters to the background. The sentiment is from the Bountiful Wreath set.

This next card uses more of the Fir & Foliage No. 1 & 2 trees. When I had my MISTI set up to stamp the layered trees, I stamped a bunch of them in different colors, so I had enough to create multiple projects. This time I created a watercolored background for them, including what resembles a shoreline and reflection.
Here is today’s video, showing how I did the background for this card. Enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed this first Make & Tell Tuesday! We’ll see you back here on Friday!

Just beautiful, Betsy! I’ve had mixed forest cards on my mind as well and this is wonderful inspiration.
Absolutely beautiful Betsy! We just planted two sequoias and a birch tree …. I love the combo ! The water reflection is amazing 1

Betsy, you are just amazing. You make that look so effortless and spectacular. Just beautiful cards!
Just watched the video, you make it all look so easy! Thanks for taking the time to share!
Beautiful!
Thank you! It’s so much fun to watch & listen to your tutorials. Invaluable tips and techniques being shared!
Thank you for another wonderful new blog post. Your video tutorial was amazing and your cards are gorgeous. Thank you also for your continued honesty. If something doesn’t pop up on a Tuesday we will know you are busy. This approach as opposed to empty promises is another reason for your loyal following and your growing success.
Gorgeous!!
Wow!!!! You may be a small company, but you have done more than we could imagine and continue to do so!!! Beautiful cards! I love your ideas on using your products and your videos! Makes us all professionals when we have you to lead us! Thank you!
Thank so much for showing us how to do a water color reflection. It’s really beautiful and I’m anxious to try it.
Your talent in watercolors and everything else in that matter, are truly amazing!! Thankyou so much for sharing your giftedness!!
Oh, Betsy! ‘Make & Tell Tuesdays’ are such a wonderful way to help us grow new skills. It was amazing to watch your watercolor reflections come to life! I can’t wait to watch the video again and paint along with you. Although it’s cold and snowy here, I’m still working on Autumn and Thanksgiving cards. So, today’s video came at the perfect time.
Heartfelt thanks for your lovely note, Betsy. It truly made my day! Snowy hugs!💗
Betsy, both of your cards are so beautiful! I loved watching your video. You make water coloring look so easy but of course I know it takes lots of practice. Thank you for sharing your talent and helping us grow our artistic abilities.
Your cards today are beautiful, and I love the tutorial for creating a reflection background. Thank you for providing education along with your products.
Your cards are just gorgeous ! Oh, if I could make my water reflection look as good as yours. Thanks for the video and the inspiration. I also love how you keep us informed. Excited for you that your dreams of the Greetery are ever expanding !
Can’t wait to try this – so pretty! Autumn color is hard to move away from but thankfully, Christmas is so bright and sparkly that it helps say goodbye.
Love these fall tree scenes!
So beautiful, Betsy!
Love the tips, thank you.
These are gorgeous and I loved watching you do the watercolor reflection!
Just beautiful, Betsy! My husband and i just returned from a fall foliage tour leaving the impression of evergreens mixed in with brightly colored deciduous trees freshly on my mind. I love your technique! I need lots of help when it comes to watercoloring. : )
They are so beautiful! I am in full Christmas mode but forgot about a nov birthday card so I may pull these out and “attempt” to make your card. It is beautiful!
Love that you are adding that link to the item. Sometimes I spend way too much time looking for the item, especially in the Lookbooks! Thank you
We are working on a solution that will add this feature back to the lookbooks as I type this. We started tagging the products in the lookbooks with our first release, but the method we were using turned out to be far too tedious to keep up with. We have another option in the works that I’m hoping will be much easier for us to manage, so hopefully that feature will be back in the lookbooks very soon! (and added to past lookbooks)
I love this video and learned so much!
Hi Betsy! May I ask you a question? Can you please share the brush you used for your sky? I’ve purchased the paints, watercolor paper & smaller brushes that you previously suggested. When I’m finished with my Christmas cards, I want to follow along with your watercolor videos. (Another reason I love the breaks between releases). And I TOTALLY understand your very busy schedule. The Greetery has been the very best thing that’s happened in my life this past year because my disability has me mostly at home. Thank you so much for everything you do! ❤️😊
Wow, Betsy! What incredible inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing your process and tips with us :). What a great feature idea!
Thank you for the video. I miss seeing videos for The Greetery’s stamp and die designs. Would love to see one for the Harvest Home set.

These are gorgeous! Thanks for putting aside time to share them this week. It’s appreciated!
Gorgeous fall cards!
WOW ! This site shows how much you care about your new company and your followers. The lookbooks are the best. For someone recovering from pneumonia you are keeping me happy. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, Betsy!!! ;)<3
Betsy, I love that you take the time to share beautiful new ways to use the stamps we have purchased. This card is gorgeous and timeless. The technique is something we can use again and again! I am inspired by your artistry and so grateful for the opportunity to support your business.
Betsy, you are a natural teacher. I am so glad I kept my subscription to your blog. Your approach is unique and, oh so practical–making the most of stamps and dies without the need to compulsively buy “this month’s release”, which is why my shelves are filled with stamp sets I don’t use. Thankful for you in this season of giving and thanks.
I never thought I would oooh and aaah over trees. Fabulous card.
I watched your video this morning before heading out to work. It was so much fun to see how you built the background and how the scene just came to life. I will look forward to Make & Tell Tuesdays.
Gorgeous, Betsy! Can’t wait to see more.
Absolutely beautiful, thank you so much for this lovely video. Can’t wait to try this.
So beautiful. Thank you for this. I was looking at another of your cards with water and wondering how to do it. You’re creating a nice little ‘home’ here. A place to come and get lots of inspiration and just be happy! Thank you.
Oh how gorgeous are those Autumn leaves on your beautiful card! I’ll have to watch your video a dozen more times to be able to attempt this amazing art, Betsy!!
Beautiful card, Betsy! Would you be willing to share the ink colors you used for the trees?
I love the water colour reflection! Thanks so much for the video. I know you must be super busy, and how much work it is to get a company off the ground, especially the first few years. So thank you for taking the time for the video. It is very much appreciated. It means a lot that you share your talent with others. And we all love your stamps and dies. But this card is absolutely stunning!
Awesome; love the reflection!
BEAUTIFUL….🌲🍂🍁🌲
That was amazing to watch! (and SO relaxing to watch). You made such a pretty scene come to life.
