Good morning and happy Friday! We have some exciting news today! One of my goals as we continue to grow here at The Greetery is to bring you more consistent content here on the blog. I’m excited to bring you today’s post – the first in a new blog feature called TGIF – The Greetery Inspiration Friday!
You’ve been asking to see more from our talented Inspiration Team, and that’s what TGIF is all about. Each Friday, one of the Inspiration Team members will be sharing a project or two with you here. We get to kick off this feature with a gorgeous project by Kay Miller.
Here’s what Kay has to say about today’s project…
I have been loving all of the shadow boxes I’ve been seeing made with stamps and die cuts, so I wanted to try one for myself using some of the beautiful new Christmas products from The Greetery.

I used the Christmas Eve stamp set, the Fir And Foliage stamp set, the Speed Tagging Christmas Sentiments and The With Love At Christmas stamp set. These images really lend themselves to creating fun scenes for a shadow box.
My shadow box measures 4.5 inches wide and 4.25 inches tall. You can make them any size, but I wanted one large enough to fit the taller trees and church. This card folds flat, but will not fit in a standard A2 size envelope. I plan on making one to fit with my envelope punch board.
I used the Drifting die to cut the hills inside the box and I also added one across the front of the bottom of the box. For the background, I used the Frosty Flakes Stencils and watercolor. I also added the snowflakes in the front corner cut with the Frosty Corner dies. I love how the Merry Christmas border from the Christmas Eve stamp set fit perfectly across the top!
Kay’s project is so inspiring, isn’t it? What kind of scene would you put in a shadowbox? I’m thinking a fall scene using Fir & Foliage No. 1 paired with the Harvest Home set would be the perfect combo to try in a shadowbox!
Also, speaking of our Inspiration Team, they now have their own page on our site! You can see them and links to their blogs and instagram accounts all in one place…check it out —>here<—!
Thanks for stopping by – I hope you enjoyed our first TGIF post!

This is stunning. All the colors, the dimension….I have to rethink my card plans for this year. Betsy, I want to thank you for maintaining active content on your blog. So many are switching to social media and a lot of us who don’t want to participate in those areas miss out. I truly appreciate your dedication and consideration for your customers.

I agree with the lady who commented about social media not being used by all, so I’m happy you are doing this consistent update on your blog and sharing creative project to inspire us.
This is absolutely stunning–a little work of art. Kay, you are so talented. Betsy, I love how the + sign identifies the stamp set used, this new feature, and the page where all the amazing DT can be found. Thank you for all the joy you bring to my life. Yes, I know that they are just stamps and dies but they do bring me so much pleasure and happiness.
